  9. It's mildly situational. Throughout the match, try to pay attention to whether your opponent can wiggle out of stagger quickly (or not). That's a good start to see if they'll wiggle out of dizzy, but it's not totally indicative. If it looks like they are good at wiggling out, then don't bother for the IK; IIRC I've seen some Jam players just run at their opponent while they're dizzied, pushing them to the corner, and then doing iad.214K -> corner combo of choice. On the other hand, if you think the guy is too slow at wiggling out, then I'd go for it. In all honesty, there aren't too many people who can wiggle out at Level 3+ speed (check the training mode "slip recovery" settings for what I'm referring), so you're more likely than not to land it. But if you're not sure, take the guaranteed damage from a combo. However, if you have 50% tension, good reflexes, and are paying attention (e.g. anticipate your opponent will get dizzied by your next attack), then you can watch for the dizzy animation and react to it by RCing the combo and going straight into IK mode. BTW there's a Jam Q&A thread in the Jam character forum, next time post your Jam-specific questions in there.

(is it fuchsia?) lol colour palette discussion. that reminds me, i actually wrote up my own "costume tier lists" for #R and / a while ago, i wonder if i still have those somewhere...
  12. hm weird, vids of the finals got posted in april, but nobody's posted in here since February edit: whoops misread the date of capps' edit, that's july 4th, not april 7th lol. btw does anyone know who's on the PaNY team? looks like RabiteCake (TE) / Damian (AB) / MarlinPie (ED), but i'd just like to know for sure, if possible.

  14. btw the Millia player on your team was "zayasu", he's been playing for quite a while, but there haven't been too many vids of him and Suzume playing, of late. that's actually really damn lucky of you to randomly team up with Suzume and Zayasu, it's like winning a small lottery lol.
  15. hey mike, sorry i didn't get to say hello to you. i was at the c-4 qual, just spectating, and i was gonna wait till afterwards to say hi, but matt told me later that you left home during the area quals maybe another time. anyways, i managed to catch a few of your matches towards the end of the arcade qual, you were doing pretty well. too bad about that ABA player, though, guy was a real jerk eh. who were your teammates, btw?

    well, i guess the "problem" with asking for an easy combo after re-launching with 5H is that your follow-up will depend on when you hit them with 5H. if you hit them just as they hit the ground, the ground bounce will be very low, and you could possibly go for something like 5H iad.j.(P-)K -> land + relaunch. on the other hand, if you hit them much sooner as they fall from BBU (like, at Slayer's standing height), then the ground bounce will be higher, and you can either try for 5H -> ad.j.D-2K -> j.K -> land relaunch... or, 5H -> j.2K -> delayed/falling j.K... and from then, depending on how high you are from the ground, you could land and relaunch, or you could follow up the j.K with dj.K-2K -> K -> land + relaunch. ... eh, i think. sorry, i don't have a copy of the game handy, and i'm a bit rusty on my vs Jam combos, so maybe someone can help me out, here. btw, check the first post of the "specific character combos list" for a big write-up, and look for JA in the first bullet to see which combos apply to her. (i'm pretty sure the situation is midscreen) oh hey btw, how much damage does your combo do without the FLJ ?

  23. also, you know you've done it correctly when there is no dust coming off the ground. (when you jump normally, there's a small plume of dust that comes off the ground.)

    could you give more details -- opponent? screen position? initial distance between you and the opponent? how much tension you want to use? etc.
