I forgot you were around, I wish I can fight you more but of course when the parents need me to make a run outside. I'll probably paly when get back.
-
This Sunday fucking blows; anyone wanna play, bout to open an open room.
-
That's actually what I started doing after a while, it was pretty great. He's also free to overheads :V
-
Sol's gonna get his bounty and just fuck off back to his world.
-
I wonder if we'll eventually get Jin vs. Ky, that seems like a far more even matchup considering their similar positions; what crazy shit has Ky done?
-
Fucking Raizuil, ruining my crossup divider. It was gonna be sexy and everything but then you had to jump on wake up and ruin it And man does Ragna feel like a downgrade after grinding Sol for three hours.
-
He should totally make a comment about this, just to milk it.
-
I think the best bits were Sol attacking Ragna while he tried to release the azure and when Sol Tyrant Raved BB's script lol. Those had me rollin.
-
I at least expected the Black Beast to force Sol to try at least; getting beaten that easily was just as boring as it was hilarious. There's effortlessly and then there's that. I think Ragna put up a better fight before he transformed, even if he was still clearly outclassed.
-
It kind of feels like Ragna is that underachieving middle child who's stuck in both of their shadows; Yu is the young prodigy who everyone admires and Sol is the older brother who has years of experience over the two. It's kind of depressing when you think about it. Isn't sad Ragna
-
I understand why they pitted the two, but Jesus. There's a reason Sol is considered by many to be a Mary Sue. Dude's effectively God once he goes Dragon Install. I wished Ragna put up a better fight myself, but there's really no way to make this figh believable without nerfing Sol :V
-
I think it's because everyone from the start knew how this was going to turn out and that Ragna didn't really stand a chance, so it was kind of upsetting for them. Ragna's life really does suck, he can't even win outside the logic of his own series :V

Look, I love Blazblue to death and it will always be my main game over Guilty Gear. I've learned to love it's characters and lore and do wanna see how it ends. So with that said, I can say with the utmost of honesty....it's story is honestly a pile of shit sometimes that requires way more brain power to process than necessary; someone seriously needs to give Mori a book on how to write plot so it makes sense for the people who are reading it because holy fucking crap, the headaches this series has given me trying to piece shit together. Sooooo, yea.
-
Weeeeelp, we all saw it coming so I don't know why you guys are upset. It was still a pretty fun bate tho; Le Dustloop. And now to watch this thread burn, all apart of my master plan :V Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
That's more or less what happened; Kagura took over for Ragna and the latter helped an injured Bullet out the Arena.
-
You realize the Azure Grimoire is made entirely of seither and produces it right?
-
I probably should have clarified that.
-
Yea, for the sake of clarity, we're going to have to assume whatever magical invulnerabilities are null here.
-
Welp, I can't say I didn't ask for it, so thank you netplay for showing that I still have much to improve on. I swear to god when I start to ignore a certain matchup, it's the one I face when it matters the most. Like fuck man, I haven't fought a Tsubaki in ages that literally forgot what she can do.
-
I didn't see you online D:
-
Someone needs to fight me, I want to be reminded I'm not good at this game. Only then can I improve.

Ragna has slowly, but surely crawled out of the ditch that the plot has thrown him into. For all of the crap that he gets, he continues to keep going despite any sane man would probabl be calling it quits ages ago. And because of that, he does get very small victories that show he is improving. It's really disingenuous to say he hasn't done or accomplished anything when that's...kind of not true. Like damn, I hate how much shit gets piled on him too and wished he would accomplish something big but I'll at least acknowledge that's growing and gets small victories sometimes. Even if I pull my hair out at most of the shit that happens to him(CP's ending still pisses me off)

*shrug* I get that it can be boring for Sol to be so uberly strong just because the plot dictates that and the fact that nobody can really match him is sort of annoying, but I still feel it makes Sol an interesting character, even if I do find Ragna's struggles more relatable. For me it's like this: Sol is the person we all want to be, but Ragna is the person who we actually are.
-
Eh...I never really considered anything before Xrd "dark" per se, but rather innocuous. But that's just me. The thing you have to understand about Sol is that his character isn't about how strong he is, but rather his personality and how events affect him. Killing his lover, being "betrayed" by his colleague and being stripped of his humanity pretty much left him a wreck of a human being. He grew cynical, antisocial, and tried to cut off all contact to right his wrongs by destroying the Gears and getting the answers he wants from That Man. The appeal of Sol is watching him slowly re-develop his social skills and work past the trauma of his past to become a better human being. His interactions with Ky, Dizzy, and Sin are all examples of this. The other notable thing is that his power isn't there to plow through everything, but rather supplement his personality. Despite being what many consider the strongest character in his own series bar none, he cannot solve his aforementioned social problems or get the answer he wants as he's no closer to achieving his goals now than when he started. It shows that having all of the power in the world doesn't automatically equate to having a perfect and functional life. Now Ragna is written rather differently, despite the superficial similarities between him and Sol. Ragna, while he is a very angry and bitter individual, has a much better(barely) hold on his life and just looks forward. He'll put up with somebody if they aren't annoying/trying to kill him and even show kindness if he feels like it. Like Sol, he had a rather simple goal of exacting revenge on the people that fucked his life over and acquired the power to do so, and like Sol wasn't really making any progress despite that. Unlike Sol however, Ragna starts to question if his goal is truly the right path he should follow as he notices how the likes of Jin and Noel direct their efforts towards helping someone else. And later on, he chooses to us his power to protect the ones he cares about. Despite how much this forum likes to joke about how much he jobs to opponents, Ragna is not weak in any sense of the word. It takes a real badass to earn that bounty and reputation. Despite that however, Ragna isn't the strongest character in his series, far from it in fact and there are a lot of characters implied to be higher than him. The thing is, Ragna is still trying to get a hold on his power and understand it better, a character arc that is far from over as he struggles, for better or worse, to get through. I have no doubt Ragna will only get stronger as he reaches the climax of his arc and may even end the series as among the strongest characters, not unlike Sol. They are two characters who go through very different character arcs despite their similarities, so it's important to understand that. Now onto the subject of the DB, well personality isn't really taken into account and it's based more on raw power. The fact of the matter is, Sol is stronger than Ragna in his current level. Sol has shown far more destructive capabilities, endured a hell of a lot of punishment, and has over a century and a half of experience in fighting and surviving. Ragna feats, as good as they may be, are rather tame when compared to Sol's. This isn't to say that Ragna can't win, but that would require an ability that he possesses in which Sol doesn't have. The only thing that really comes to mind is Soul Eater and that might be the deciding factor of this fight and it all hinges if Sol doesn't adapt to it and starts to no sell it rendering it useless. Otherwise, I can't really see Ragna winning this fight without some sort of Ass pull or contradiction to give him the win and honestly, that would cheapen the win in my eyes. I want Ragna to win by merits of his own abilities, not because of contrivances due to plot. ....This was lengthier than it needed to be. Tl;DR: They're both awesome, Sol is just more awesome while Ragna has a token ability that may or may not decide it.
