Yo son could you write me a little Faust vs slayer summary on what you think slayer has to do to win the match? Nothing too long but enough to display the pro's and con's of the match. Yeah please don't act like I'm just gonna let you come the fuck in on me. And waiting till the item is gone? I don't mean to kinda rain on your parade but the only items that really halt Faust's zoning is candy and doughnut(both can be taken). All others(if you didn't know) help one way or the other in contributing to his zoning. The trick against Faust is using HOS's speed and priority, mixed with a little bit of crazy. HOS isn't really too hard to zone because of a lack of projectile, but the speed and the range of J.HS is very nice for incoming from the air and his 2S and 2D are great for the ground progression. What Ryan-bill has stated when it comes to momentum at the forefront of the match is very important. I try to always gain the upper-hand against HOS as soon as "Let's Rock" is announced. This allows me to better control my spacing and my zoning will be on my terms not his. That's momentum in a zoner's game.

I do it better in writing I guess. It's just hard to teach a person about it unless they want it. Your drive to be good at this game has to be high. I saw something I thought was tight and I acted. But when I had to learn I just got the piss beat out of me and figured it out on my own. Oh and ask question's, hopefully the response will be good.

I know sol can 2d and close slash out of most if not all up close. yeah and MissedFRC, Faust usually needs his dead angle a-lot if the pressure is on.... so yeah not true.

Your silly He has counter's for high and low attacks and he has a dp. It isn't great....but he has one. Your even silly-er. Raoh will usually always get in if Zappa plays him right (Properly placed Fireballs). The difficult part is just not making a mistake because it leads into large damage.

if that's not what you said then..... It's possible to become as good as the japanese but you need to be in the same environment to be as good as them. Playing with your Espada buddies or hours in training mode won't make you the next Dogura. You need to travel and play a plethora of different character players and at high skill lvls. In japan that is relatively easy. The U.S not so much. Now GF frc is safer and it's a staple in Sol's rushdown and mixup game period. BR frc is not a staple strat that is based heavily on his game play. GF frc>BR frc period. They are not equal at all. Sol could deal without BR frc. If he didn't have GF frc he'd kinda be fucked.

Yea comparing GF frc to BR frc is kinda silly since what was stated above by spirit juice. When I played games with Robot months ago he used BR frc's as a use of tricky cross-up's but wasn't really all that amazing. It was cool as shit to look at and fast but didn't work all the time. I was much more afraid of his GF as a means of reapplying pressure and it's ability to set mix-ups. Didn't mean to invade, I'm not a Sol player but I play against em all the time. To me BR frc seems most useful in Combos anything else besides that kinda seems a bit too much... On the other hand I play kinda flashy and however you want to play should motivate you. But don't trash Japanese Beasts, that's just silly.

Hehe, just noticed what you did up front, great job!! I don't know if those are ever going to get translated but I don't think the Japanese will disagree with me too much. If they do, fuck em. My rankings on Faust. * Average damage C: Standard B&B combos rarely do over 150 but are easy. * Max damage C: Tension & set-ups play a large role in dealing huge damage, which sucks. Getting past 220 on a normal life bar is hard if 6HS isn't involved. * Pokes A+: One of Faust's best tools. Multiple answers for progression in the air and ground (FDC j.HS, 2hs, 5s[far], 41236k). And can easily score hits from medium to medium-far range. * Pressure B: Depending on what items are around can greatly effect how Faust's pressure is carried out. But he can keep the heat on when need be with great normal cancels(2hs->2p,5s->2k)and the ability to cancel them into item's . * Mixup B+: Good mixup's with fast overheads, cross-ups and Mettakiri. Plenty of gimmicks to use: FDC shenanigans, Mettakiri tricks and door frc's just to name a few. It would be better if this lead into great damage, hence why it's not S. * Okizeme B:Not bad because of fdc j.k and meaty 2k which is really all purpose, and he has a few options to bait and render DP's useless(ex.Fdc j.D crossup feint) * Against ground A: The ability to lay the law down with bomb bags, j.d's and j2k's makes this a strong point for Faust. But nothing tops the almighty amazing Air Pogo that has amazing speed, range and priority! * Against air A(A+): I think this should be at least A+ since he has about 3 great anti-airs(2k,6p,5k) and one good(2s) that have answers for just about every character.It all just comes down to: Timing + Move recognition = Application. * Breaking out of pressure D: Yeah he sucks pretty bad at this. Lacking speed and fast methods of escaping pressure, combined with a nice sized hitbox makes Faust a great target for getting locked down. * Defense C: Average guts, average dizzy rating, average life bar, all average. * In general situations A: He can zone everyone in the cast very well. With careful, but safe poke placements and intelligent item usage the only one better than him at it is Testament. * Overall rank B: Has a good fighting chance against anyone in the game and can be overwhelming at times due to his random zoning applications and properties. * Good matchups:Potemnkin, Dizzy,Ino. Even those don't reach to the 6-4 level. He's pretty much even with most of the cast. * Bad matchups:Chipp, Testament, Millia : Basically anyone who can zone better than him or eliminate it completely due to pure speed and mobility. Bang!

i feel ya on the Arakune woes. i was pissed once i saw those tokido vids of him playin Arakune, using that air dash cancel j.B pressure shit, i couldn't figure for the life of me what the hell was going on until i read Shinjin's explaination of it.

yeah good point finding out what range Faust and you the player excels at on certain character match-ups is very important when it comes to controlling the match and properly zoning. Once again guys i'm sorry for not adding more character match-up sections but i promise it will be soon since i'm taking my computer in today to get it fixed.

All it all depends on if she gets off 1. a super 2. scores a knock down 3. finds a way to retreat fast using double air dash without being followed what i was trying to say was that Dizzy shouldn't just be throwing fish in front of Faust's face. That's just asking for it. Both need a little space before they start to rush in.

2Hs on her fish attempt isn't a bad idea but rarely will a good dizzy player do it that close to Faust unless he's knocked down or caught up with another summon. and a far range poke that gatling's into a anti-air is Farslash->2k thanks for the added input

I moved your Original write-up into the Dizzy Section(and replied to it!)so here's the reply to anji Anji's ability to stuff your long range pokes is a serious problem, hence why Faust is one of the better match-ups for Anji. He comes from the Ground 2p is your Poke, it stops the continuation of Fujin if they delay it a bit and makes his Gaurd Cancel attacks useless. you can also use 2k for a poke also, But make sure you time it so the last hit is what does the damage since it's a Low, This is also a good option since it also covers as an Anti-air if Anji wants to dash in. i'll go more in-depth with this later on in the Anji guide hope it helps

i dunno if you read what i put up on Dizzy but there are times when she will get away. It's up to you to make sure you get her back to base one and lock her down. now Ice spike vs. 5s if done at the same time it should always win(7F start-up), now if your rushing in from the ground and she want's to do an icespike do fd break!!... unless she cancels it, you get the super free damage. 2HS is kinda useless in this match-up(she can dash over it!!), you just have to increase your speed and react faster than she does, when your in her face you control the tempo. Now,If you wanna get to her fast airdash into FB Pogo, it'll send you flying right into her face, just make sure you get off quick since her Far Slash knocks you right off. Also, i dunno if it doesn't seem obvious or not but when your coming in on her and she's active make sure you have a helper(Robo,Faust,Po,Meteor's,Bombs). I'd like to ask if you have any other Q's about dizzy you direct it to the Dizzy Match-ups section. But since it also deals with a Character i haven't created a guide yet for it's no Prob
