Yea, just try someone new until your main comes back. God forbid you might actually need to put in effort to learn stuff! You may end up really liking the experience. No reason to quit the series. I was well prepared to just suck it up and learn Axl before Faust was announced but I got lucky so now I don't need to. As for console release date. Spring 2014? Really?! No chance! The game will probably be out in Arcades around then. Don't expect a console release until at least summer or most likely next fall. -

He has that in this game too so it seems like he will have the ability so summon little eddie anywhere a drill just dissapeared and also can command throw from little eddie... LOL.... if he is as strong as reload eddie as a base with these new tools in addition (oh and a new super too) I believe we all have our work cut out for us... unless we pick Zato... (of course this is all speculation) -

Suzaku's drawing is pretty close to what I was seeing in my mind. I will definitely be at this loketest just like the other ones to bring the hype in real time! -

I honestly can't say. I didn't test this out as much as I would like. You can still burst grab though. Should be interesting to see what kind of new combos emerge from being able RC air throws with that slowdown now too. And for the record, reload is my least favorite in the XX series. Mainly because it is the weakest and most boring version of Faust... And reload Eddie is dumb. With that said, it is true that I still like the game. I do like forcebreaks though. -

Sym, I don't think Millia can ADC her j.D It's strange. It feels like this game is simpler and more complex at the same time. Compared to +R, almos everyone feels more raw and basic and tools in general seem more nerfed and less abusable. At the same time, everyone got new personal tools and it is still early to say how good they all are yet. But with the new RC system and blitz shield, there are so many new possibilities. The game certainly feels like a new experience for better or worse. Overall I like the game so far and I think most of you will too. -

You guys can clearly see what whiffed blitz shield looks like in the vids. Faust also gets countered by it in one vid so you can see how long he is in vulnerable state. It happens vs Chipp at 40 second mark. Chipp slashes him out of it. The effect lasts just slightly longer. As for VCL it did look slightly shorter but not that bad What really got shorter is pile bunker range -

The basis feels like reload but all of the new system mechics and changes make it feel like a very new experience. Hopefully you get what I am trying to say. It's like if the XX series evolved from reload in another direction and Slash never exised, let alone AC. -

Kenji, dude, ill try to ask Pachi about it but he will most likely keep his mouth shut: I think we still have a lot of characters to still see though. Are you playing Anji or Zappa primarily in +R? -

I mentioned it before but it's like this upward diagonal kick that travels very short and recovers fast so Chipp can do anything above opponents head. Saw Endo doing some interesting stuff with it. -

So I read a few questions and I will get to them all in due time. Its late and im drunk and ready to go to bed. But the one that stood out that I need to answer now is, "I'm interested in more general impressions of xrd. Are you enjoying it? How is the pace etc? Is it something you could see yourself playing for the next however many years?" Simply put, yes. I have enjoyed playing the game and feel very privileged to be one of the first people (at least among non-Japanese) to play what will most likely be a huge staple in the FGC for years to come. This is the Street Fighter IV of Guilty Gear... and I do not mean that in a negative way. We all know that when you get down to it SFIV is pretty watered down compared to most of the older SF games. What I mean comparison wise is, just like SF, this is the game that is going to bring new life to the scene. This is the game that is going to bring in new blood and a fresh desire for competition... and at the same time, (hopefully) rally all of the old GG heads and bring them back into the scene. I saw lots of old school Japanese players at the loketest that I have not seen in years because they either moved on to different games or stopped playing... but they came to play Xrd and they will keep playing Xrd. The thing is... this game is going to be legit. There are some minor complaints and issues that are justified, but when you get down to it, this is fucking Guilty Gear. The game feels like I am playing Guilty Gear. Now that Faust is finally in the game, I really feel like I was able to compare it with older GG games. I still feel like I am playing GG and I still am definitely enjoying it. I am not going to pretend like there are not negatives aspects of the game, but overall the game is a lot of fun and I honestly think that the developers know what they are doing. They are obviously trying to make it a bit more accessible but they also know their core fan base (hell... Pachi is an old school SBO champion) and so simply put... coming from someone who has played GG since GGX, this is a proper continuation of the series and I am sure you will all enjoy it (unless your character doesnt make it in and you just pout and be salty). So yea, lets rock. -

Yes, right now dragon install "command grab" in the air seems shitty. I found out that you actually can YRC Fausts new upward pogo move but only if you do it right as it starts up before the active attack frames. After that you get purple. Depending on how fast you do it Faust will either be on the ground or just slightly in the air. As a result, I can actually see this being used for mixups because it will be very hard for the opponent to tell where Faust is after the cancel. If on the ground he can do a low. If in the air, instant overhead kick. At the very least it is a safe instant way to dismount pogo for 25% meter. ....and with that, I am sorry to say that this is it for me. I actually left the loketest to have dinner and drinks with some friends a few hours ago and lost track of time. I'm on the train back to my city now. I won't go back tomorrow. Gonna spend some time with my wife. I hope you guys all got some useful info from me. I did my best to answer what I could. Hopefully other contributors can try to answer any remaining unanswered questions. Also, some things that people have asked have already been answered so review all of my notes. I'm happy to answer more things based on what I remember but my testing has come to an end for this loketest. Ill make sure to go to the next one whenever that may be. /slash -

Yes. For example there is at least still a distinction between light characters and not. I can tell because Faust sweep into pogo only cleanly combos on light characters and that is how it has always been. So it works on may Millia and I-no but no one else just like always. -

If you RC a projectile while the projectile is touching the opponent you get a red RC. Ky's throw can only be red RCd Ride the lightning absorbs projectiles or at least gun flame (I may I have posted this at the last loketest) -

Good question. I want to say its the tumbling one but it looked sorta different but my eyes may not be adjusted to what each character looks like when in tumble state. For all effective purposes, tumble works more or less like ground slide anyway. -
