You can gold burst after you BS someone, saw it in a vid once but the other guys did a regular burst and the GB missed. You can't BS a burst.

IMO tiers are not all that far apart. There are some bad matchups (like Pot vs Ram is really bad for Pot) but I think this is one of the more balanced versions of GG. Yea, Dai and Oh is spot on about Venom meter use. Almost no Venoms use supers. Its all about dat YRC. I play against FC fairly often since we both live in Gunma and I can't ever recall him using a super once the entire time I have played against him. I think Venom is solid though. He doesn't have the greatest damage but he certainly can still fuck you up. Just look at how much Face Guard Senpai (Isamu) was beasting at Pre Arc Fest tourney 2 at A-cho. I played him a bunch all weekend while I was there and while I did manage to get some games on him, it was really hard to do so and I lost to him in the tourney and he went on to win the whole thing. As for I-no, I think she is still at least decent. She may not be the best version of I-no but she is by no means weak. I'm also surprised that people think Bedman is that low. Lox's Bedman is sick as hell! When I went to Kansai for the same tourney, he was also messing me up. Pretty much him and Isamu were the 2 players I was having the most trouble with and I was doing really well against most other people, and they both were using B tier. I think this is one of those games where you can just pick who you like and if you really learn matchups you can stand a chance with any character honestly.

Generally when I try to BS on wakeup it doesn't come out in time. In that video, it looks like May was able to do it just in time, like the first frame possible. When trying it against Zato corner unblockables it doesn't seem to work for me but I can try it out more at some point.

Currently (or last I checked a few days ago) the number one ranked player for Risk Rating uses Ram. I have fought a wide range of Ram players from scrubs to pros. I think overall she is in the top 5 but I dunno about very best. Most players seem to agree that she is among the top 5 but opinions vary from person to person. If you look at results, Sol seems to win more than most characters but he is also the most played character overall so that could have something to do with it as well. (top 5 characters in no particular order are Zato, Faust, Millia, Sol, Ram)

I'm liking the range on Sin's normals from what we can see in the Famitsu scan. Depending on how he ends up playing I may sub him.

Never heard that before. I hope not. I don't want the console version to differ from arcade. I am hoping for an exact port with the exception of additional characters and non competative vs mode game-play changing add-ons like enhanced training mode, more colors, new stages, etc etc. Also, yay for Sin. Not at all surprised but I know nothing about this empty stomach thing. I never even played Overture due to never owning a 360 so I will just wait and see how he plays later. Hopefully we get more characters too.

Yes, the game is probably going to feel a bit slower to most people who try it for the first time, but honestly I think most people will get used to it like I have. It doesn't feel any less deep or anything.

I'm not sure about gold bursting after BS. Haven't seem anyone do it and I never tried. As for the post that mentioned comboing into IK, this is also something that basically no one does. I never see it and never use it myself. The situation where u could do so is rare and usually if you have that much meter you'd kill th with regular means anyway.

Obviously Max is not a hardcore GG player and a few of his facts are a bit off about the history of the series but overall I agree with his impressions. I'm also really glad to hear that they are serious about making the netcode and online play as good as they can. Also, I don't care about rediculously giant lobbies. Ranked is all I pretty much plan to play and as long as it runs smooth then I'm happy.

Yes, if the opponent is in the air then they can be air thrown. You can't BS throws so if you air threw their counter BS attempt it would get you the throw and they would lose meter.

You certainly CAN grab gold bursts on start up. Check the most recent Sportsland tourney footage once it comes out soon. I beat FAB and made it to grand finals where I fought 16dan Millia. Guess how I lost the very end of the final round?
