  1. If you want a buffed Terumi, play Hazama. On a serious note, I can't see how he's bad since all I see coming from him is damage. Amane, Izayoi and Bullet could be a bit better but their current forms all have some great potential. They just need a few changes to be great. Seeing as how Makoto has the worst matchups across the board and is generally considered the worst character in the game for the second version in a row, buffs should start there. Then again, I'm expecting the hat trick here instead of a competitive character if the patch comes with balance updates for the cast (instead of just the console characters). What I'm saying is, they better not nerf Azrael. >.>
  2. I'm hearing from several places that it's probably just the console characters getting changes to be suitable for arcade play so don't hold your breath for "balance" updates on the rest of the cast. Expect more of THE STRUGGLE for BBCP1.5.
  3. Barrier adds a frame or two of extra block-stun so there is a negative to doing that. Just don't auto-pilot your blockstrings and keep an eye on them as you should because her blockstrings lead to commitment and worse options as you go farther down the line. 5B wait 5B is a way to make sure they keep blocking if they're using BB for the first hit. It has the most reach so the fear of whiffing is slightly removed and you can catch mashing with a sweet counterhit for her most damaging combos. I find that whiffing a throw in front of them while they're using BB will cause them to react, allowing you to stuff them with 2A. Throws are pretty cool when they are preoccupied in holding back and pressing two buttons. 214A~A throw is surprisingly effective from I've seen in arcade footag These are gimmicks so use them sparingly. It really depends on how you expect the opponent to react.
  4. Actually, I've never had a problem landing 5B > 5C > 6C > 214A~C > 236D on Koko. I used to have this problem against several characters with weird hitboxes but if you slightly delay the Lunatic Upper, it works on everybody midscreen. I usually use Koko as my training dummy and as far as I know, your combos still work on her. I don't think she has a tiny sliding hitbox like Jin and Valk do. But yeah, matchup is awful. Your normals match up poorly against Koko's across the board. Her neutral is designed to give you fits. Your only real plan to get the first hit and running airtight mixups after that is to know your opponent's tendencies and that gets much tougher the better your opponent is. I don't remember anyone finding a combo to use to punish Super Koko Ball. It probably involves 5D then blocking and recovering in time for the pickup. Without that combo, that's just another thing Koko can abuse against you.
  5. To be clear, I wasn't saying mediocre to mean "first-to-last tier list" freefall; just that they were noticeably nerfed. Litchi was still good in CS2 but IIRC she was worse off in EX. Bang was pretty bleh in CS2 and Jin in EX. CP Ragna is certainly capable, just bleh and I know and said Hakumen is still S in CP. The dude still got nerfed though and overall system changes are what made him the TOD king. Their consistency in balancing in other characters is a thing, yes. However, those characters weren't considered problems so ArcSys was left to their own devices. Just because I'm feeling defensive when I woke up today, I've said nothing here about who I want to get buffed. I did indicate about four characters that could stand being mid-bottom tier for once though.
  6. Trolls gotta look like trolls.
  7. If Hazama doesn't look awful in a different medium, it ain't Hazama.
  8. You're probably right on the balancing statement but I'm still skeptical on the futures of the eternal top-tiers you listed. It took Arakune five games before he got nerfed into the ground. People didn't think it was going to happen but it happened. Granted, his drive isn't movement-based, a trait that the forever top-tiers, Valk, Hazama and Tao have (and seriously, how did you forget about Tao? she's been insane for all of BB's lifespan). I'm not holding my breath on some actual balance for those three but it's too early to call. Really, it feels like a noticeable amount of the nerfing comes from how vocal the Japanese arcade community is since ArcSys asks for feedback from time to time through various methods. Every game, someone gets wrecked by the nerfs and it's usually public enemies #1 and #2. Nu/Rachel, Bang/Litchi, Makoto/Jin, Ragna/Hakumen. All of these characters were top and nerfed into mediocrity in the next game. In the case of Rachel and Makoto, they got nerfed into the stone age while Litchi took two games to become meh (CS1 -> EX, although she's top-tier again in CP like Jin). As far as I can tell, Hakumen got nerfed from EX to CP but system changes rocketed him back into high/top. I honestly think no one in Japan complains about Hazama because all nerds love fedora-wearing trolls, regardless of culture (also, Pachi will never let his child run around in poverty tier). Valk apparently got nerfed but not hard enough and Tao always evades the nerf hammer somehow. If I'm going by the characters the JP community hates most, it's definitely Koko and Valk. Litchi and Hakumen probably aren't far behind. The latter are guesses but I'm 100% sure on Koko and close to 100% on Valk. The whole DLC to arcade thing has me slightly concerned though. Tataki has some good points about the DLC characters being beta on consoles since Kokonoe is the third busted DLC character that has been released. They do get changed and refined before the arcade release. ArcSys's track record on this is pretty bad though. CS1 Valk and Makoto were busted as DLC and both were top-tier in CS2. Theoretically, Kokonoe could still be broke in the next game. It doesn't seem probable since there's just so many people complaining about her but it could still happen. TL; DR:I just said a whole lot of nothing in a wall of text so ignore me. As for banning Kokonoe now, waiting to see if Kokonoe skews tournament results seems to be best. If people aren't stepping up their Koko game in tourney, banning her will just alienate people IMO.
  9. Where did you hear that?
  10. This looks so amazing. Rachel is just laying down the real talk left and right. I didn't even know I wanted to read this. You're the best, Emma
  11. My favorite songs counting down to #1: Plastic Night II (it got menacing in a good way) Catus Carnival II (it got mad bouncy which made it more enjoyable to me) DA TYRANT (rage is good) Science Fiction (aww science) Six Heroes (yes) Black and White (it would be higher if people didn't spam it all the time. that said, they have a good reason to) Lust Sin II (dat piano and dat violin) 3) Awakening the Chaos II (no song has gotten closer to making me shed a tear like this one with the children's choir) 2) Sector 7 (it's like they took the best parts from the themes of each member and combined it to make a badass espionage theme) 1) Alexandrite II (I can't listen to this song while playing BB because I might get too hype and suddenly get up and do a flying drop-kick on my opponent when I win)
  12. So am I. It's why I have a high-tolerance for Awakening the Chaos being the BG theme for every menu in CS. I'm just not anime enough to enjoy any version of Bullet Dance or Sword of Doom II.
  13. I prefer groaning though.
  14. The songs I mentioned are full on the tube.
  15. They always seem to make AtC longer with each remix. This version is pretty godlike although I prefer the opera singer's voice itself rather than substituting it with instruments. Rebellion is pretty good. UHD is pretty good. Lust Sin was meh. NOW Gluttony Fang... I have nothing good to say about the remix. OG version is still the best. This version is lacking all over the place.
  16. I think Ragna calling Terumi a piece of shit and a bitch with his generic voice set is sufficent enough.
  17. The combo threads do have 6A starter combos. They're just condensed. Midscreen ~ 5B > 〆 ~ 5B whiff > 5A > 6A > 〆 ~ 5B whiff > 5B > 6A > 〆 ~ falling j.C > j.B > 2D Lv1 > 5B > 6A > 〆* Corner ~ 5B > j.B > dj.D > 5D > 236A ~ 5B whiff > 5A/5B > 6A > 2D > 2C > 236A~D > 6A > j.B > dj.D > 5D > 236A Use the first one if they're about to hit the ground and use the others if they're counterhit from higher up. Your finisher depends on where you are. If you can follow up after j.B > dj.D and finish with orb oki, then you're in a pretty good spot.
  18. Chachakaka is still the most fun thing to say ever. Papa Hazuki has been added to the ballot for "Father of the Year" along with Relius Clover and Jubei. Once again, thanks for the chapter Emma :o
  19. Serve tea and pastries. You know, like he normally does.
  20. A) She landed on her feet like a cat B) J.2C C) Regained consciousness midfall and parkoured her way down. D) She landed on Kagura. E) Other: _________________________ Pick one. Clearly Noel knows to not question how her BFF does things, especially how she survives things that kill normal people.
  21. When I was doing the challenge mission a while back where you had to do raw Sentinel, it took me much longer than I wanted it to because of that input priority issue. My 623 motion is clean most of the time on the P1 side, but it's sloppy on the P2 side (4214, etc.). I never really found a need to use non-22C Sentinel though so it didn't affect me too much. Then again, I should work on them now since I get a good number of 5C fatals normally. The damage I got from trying that 5C FC CT Dump -> combo (when I got the dump to come out anyway) is just divine. EDIT: just watched Rath's sweet combo video. 6A is amazing.
  22. Hakumen has no coal to give the naughty; instead, he gives them the void. I'm mad I never saw this pic before.
  23. Saw the last episode. Not having it subbed and the episode having a ton of dialogue didn't help. Still, the episode was meh like every other one. The fight was an improvement over the original CS ending but that's not saying much. Hakumen didn't do shit. Jin didn't do shit except get bodied. Ragna and Mu got to move around more but other than Ragna getting hit with Mu's moveset before giving her the pimp hand (and arm), it was meh. Then there's the platform of super-villains. From the perspective of a person who's played BB, I still have no fucking idea why Litchi is up there with the rest of them since she got about 5 minutes of screen-time. One episode, she's tending to Ragna, getting groped and otherwise man-handled by Tao at the hot-springs, the next she's on the same platform with evil anime Michael Jackson and evil anime Jeff Dunham. Yeah, I know Litchi's backstory but that still doesn't make much sense from all the material shown thus far. Watching Phantom making the dudes in the chair disappear was kinda cool though. Above all, Noel needs to shut the fuck up. Goddamn, girl. BAKA BAKA BAKA xN. Now that the anime is over, I can't say I want all 250+ minutes of my life back. I might want to keep about 5 minutes of it (and encase the 3 seconds of Noel fluffing Makoto's tail in solid gold). It wasn't complete garbage but it was hella forgettable and poorly made. Although some of the complaints about the animation here were over-exaggerated, the animation is still overall poop. The pacing is awful, the decisions to deviate from the original storyline were highly questionable (but a bit understandable) and the fights were extremely disappointing. Seeing as how it's an anime based on a fighting game, I was expecting some godlike fights and in the end, I was let down. It was cool to see the characters animated but all-in-all, meh. But hey, SD can go put his paws all over it and do things to it now that it's finished.
  24. you think you could have taken a couple seconds to remove the images from the quote so your wall of text is less imposing geez
  25. I think the sarcasm was lost in the intended message.
