Ranbat season 3 starts this Saturday and is bi-weekly again except for April 4th weekend. Same venue, for anyone who's new, the address is 3000 Custer Rd #170, Plano, Texas 75075 Venue fee is $3, entry is $2 a game, winner takes half the pot, half rolls over and goes to the season winner for that game. Point structure is 10, 7, 5, 3, 1, and you get the total of your five highest scores. We'll be playing GGXXAC+R, P4U, and BBCP, and anything else will be up to whoever wants to bring it, or if we have enough people we can do a team tournament or guilty gear 3 on 3 or something. What did it actually say? The 2C untechable increase seems like a buff, and the lotus changes seem more like compromises than straight up nerfs. Are the extra active frames not worth the extra startup?

Good ol' Jamie McXie made a tweet about seeing an unusually high damage Noel combo while watching people play the patched build. He didn't really go into detail, but I would assume he was alluding to crush trigger in the use of drive combos giving her much better damage since the only other thing that would actually change her damage was a nerf. Rejoice noel players...?

Given the combination of the patch announcement and the Kokonoe play at meetups, I'm going to put it on the table for you guys to decide whether or not to allow Kokonoe at the ranbats. Talk about it on facebook and get back to me.

No, the venue had to reschedule us and they had other tournaments scheduled in the meantime.

For the record, Ranbats will resume on March 1st with the regular bi-weekly schedule, the one exception being that we will skip April 5th so as not to interfere with people going to Texas showdown. Love, Chris

Thanks to everyone for showing up and making the season fun; especially to the new faces. Ayane, I guess we'll catch you next time. Since this was the end of our second season we'll be taking a break from competing, and unless there are any objections in the next few weeks we'll be starting the new season sometime between January 25th and February 8th in order to best avoid conflicting with other events like TBF or UCC. Congratulations to our winners: Harakiri Tiger, Sunfish, and DancesWithNinjas. To everyone else, don't let these guys win again.
