https://www.facebook.com/events/206980306131808 Anyone coming out for Chicago Heart? It's a TFC qualifier

Who is going to TFC?

I'm a teddie player, and I can say it's a pretty bad matchup. His range means he can break your persona easily. Also Teddie Circus (D version) can punish a long distance Maziodyne and Maragidyne for 3k damage. I can't say I have a lot of advice for you here, but user your neutral game to push him into the corner and end the match. Remember that rage increases your damage output, so consider getting the rage can for the +1000 HP and rage status..

I'm struggling win the AoA FC launch combo into j.A, j.B, j.A, dj.A, etc. Mainly the j.B into the second j.A - I keep spiking them into the ground. What's the timing here?

TFC Qualifier: Chicago Heart 5 - [August 30 - September 1, 2013]
wiredgod replied to Chris Chaos's topic in Archive
Shin, could you try to get this info out to surrounding states and try to get them involved in coming? Hopefully we can create some hype for the event. For the record, I'm willing to house a person or two if need be. -
Michigan players are coming down for this?
-
Is there any footage of either of these Teddie players anywhere else?

Game Pazzo casuals are on Friday, not Saturday. There's usually a monthly tournament sometime on Saturday. People mostly are playing FGs, but I've seen some monster hunter and bomber man. There's always a good crowd of LoL people there.

Yesterday I think some fighting game mechanic knowledge finally clicked in my head. It might seem obvious, but sometimes words stated in a different way will finally make sense. My revelation: Here's how character by character matchups should be broken down: 1) What are my tools to approach my opponent at different distances and how can my opponent counter them? How can I alter my approach to avoid that counter? 2) Once I have the enemy on the defensive, what are my tools to continue damage and pressure? How can my opponent counter them? 3) What tools does my opponent have to approach me and how can I counter them? 4) What are my tools to get out of an enemy's pressure and how can he counter them? FGs don't break down into a flowchart perfectly, but putting these answers down into an itemized list either in your head or on paper seems instructive and would help your playing tendencies.

This is probably not new, but I found in a corner combo that you can use ice item on the opponent after the standing 5C if you delay the item toss a bit. The programmers seem to have balanced the game to prevent some evil things you can do out of combo-ing into a freeze like AoA FC D or even a standard 5AAAAA. Does anyone see any potential usefulness here?

This is awesome. Thank you so much. Teddie brings an almost limitless amount of things to practice.

I don't see anything preventing me from showing up. I think the usual cast of characters would be happy to make it as well.

How does one approach the Aigis matchup? She really takes my Teddie out of his game with her 2B and strong aerial game.

I like playing characters no one else plays because I dislike mirror matches and it lets me explore more uncharted territory in games.

There's always OMB into instant kill to end grand finals. Too much fun

I haven't had this experience where the GG players are seen as "black sheep". Most of them are respected players. If you want to get people into GG, why wait for Xrd? AC is out now and +R will be released on console soon. Xrd won't be here until god knows when. Xrd will probably get some new players into the series and some people that liked the XX series won't like it, which is fine so long as they don't incessantly whine about it. Basic point, grow the community now, not later

Up until now I've been using the puppeteddie after the bounce from missile explosion. In terms of frames, is this inferior to the more conventional way of doing the puppeteddie just before the missile explodes? I'm thinking you want as much frame advantage as possible to put barrel pressure on them in the corner.

Bartenders are invincible. They make great friends though.

[CP] Carl Clover Gameplay Discussion (Changelog in OP)
wiredgod replied to Akira-Shiro's topic in Carl Clover
I'm picking up this character for CP, but would like to get some experience in during the lengthy wait. How easy will it be to transition from CSE Carl to CP Carl? -
@brkrdave Thanks for the very useful advice! Teddie doesn't deal a lot of damage outside of his counter-hit 2C, corner, or corner carry combos. Your bat will help you here - on counter-hit it will send them flying to the corner (run after them). Midscreen he's not going to deal a lot of damage off a confirmed hit besides what I've mentioned. Mid-screen, I mostly use 5AA, 2B, super-jump cancel ja, jb, item drop. If they are far enough away that the sjc j.A will whiff, I use 5AA, 5B, 236D, which will give you a TV and another (optional) way to approach them. Teddie has great range with his 5A, 5B, and throw. Try to avoid having characters in your face since the startup on your attacks is slow. Many of your items also have hitboxes, so use these items in combination with your other tools to present an offense. Teddie only has his AoA as an overhead, so your hardest to defend mixups are going to be crossups and rolling through an enemy as an item is about to hit them. Not many people can block a barrel with Teddie rolling through them repeatedly. Hope this helps.

On this topic, I feel like the corner combo using smart bomb is a waste of the smart bomb, unless you're going to go for an added teddie circus. The damage on the bomb is scaled to about 25% of what it otherwise would be. Post corner combo, throw the bomb item to make them choose between your corner pressure or taking their chances with an air-unblockable item for 2000 damage. Throw them to avoid having them roll out of the corner. Any thoughts?

They often have tournaments on Saturdays too.
