I'm having trouble with the timing on the first one, specifically the timing of the j.A > j.B > j.A so that you can tk Teddie Screw. If there is footage of these combos anywhere, that would be really helpful.

If you go to training mode and lock the item under character specific settings, you can use naniga deru to throw out 3 of the same item. With the SB version you can throw out 2 sets of two items for up to four of the same item. You can't do this outside training mode, except for super situational item configurations with the SB version. Try telling people you found super secret Teddie tech and show them this and see how long it takes them to figure it out. I'm really tempted to make a combo video.

Shadow Labrys is scary in awakening (more than Liz) and Titanomachia arguably pushes her up a whole tier. An ability to make a comeback does mean something, but his limited neutral game is going to keep him out of top tier status. Just saying he looks stronger than I anticipated when I first played him

By no means do I think Adachi is high tier, but he is scary when he gets in awakening. See for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6Fjp5nMZt0

IMO, this character has stayed at about the same power level. Remember that holding the D button will make the persona projectile invulnerable. This is more important now that he stays out longer. The biggest nerf to him was taking away the backdash cancellable trait on 5B, meaning you need to be more selective in using it. Having access to two different items at once is really powerful. Also, the new items are really strong. The bike key specifically will knock them out of any pressure they're putting on you and give you a free 'in' to start your pressure. If they try to jump it, you can do a preemptive 2B, which is backdash cancellable in case they block.

Here's a few important ones. I don't have the dmg / meter atm, but will edit once I do: Corner: Throw > 5B > sjc.C > j.B > j.A > 5B > 5C > 2B > sj.A > j.236A > j.236236[D] > 2A+B, ]D[ - I've found that a super jump after the 2B makes the combo a bit more consistent. Alternately you can end with 236236[D], 214B, ]D[ Back to Corner: 5AAA > j.236A (through opponent) > 236236[C] > 2A+B > ]C[ > 96 > j.C > j.B. 3197 dmg, 23 meter Special Starter FC 236(C/ D/ C+D) > 236C> j.A > j.B > j.A, dj.A, dj.236A, 236236C - Use D missile + sweep if in corner

A few comparison of old Teddie and new Teddie: It feels like the recovery on the standing 236236D has increased, meaning you have to delay the teleport more, which makes the combo a bit more fragile. It also feels like you need slightly more delay on the teleport after the FC TV combos than before. The old corner throw combo feels like it works just perfectly. The pupetteddie > missile boom combo ender works, but there's less hit stun from the puppetteddie, making the combo easier to drop.

I spent the night screwing around with Naniga deru Kuma (236236A/B) and found a few neat things. Lets say you're in a standard first player position facing right at midscreen. If you do a j.B off a combo or solo and DI (directional influence) forward, you can activate the Naniga behind the opponent without reversing the input direction, the persona throws the item in the direction of your original position. For some reason then, you automatically airturn and the game suctions them in the direction of the persona (behind them) and you land again facing right. It's a confusing crossup opportunity. The downside of the this is that you lose access to the items the persona just threw, except if your item is on buckets. In this case one bucket will end up hitting them on a standard 5AAA, sweep and at the end of the combo they're confused. Another good use of Naniga Deru is midscreen, with your item on the rage drink. It also throws out the stereo and the pinwheel, but the pinwheel isn't used for the setup I'm describing here. Do 5AAA > j.B (DI forward) > Naniga Deru without doing the crossup thing above. Once you land, do 2AA and push them into the rage drink. Do 5AAA > sweep, they land on the stereo which is now active. For some reason they are still in rage once they tech (!). This allows an easy reset with a meaty 5A into a full punish. I'll try to get these two setups recorded soon and share. I also need to see test how practical these setups are in an actual game.

I'm looking at PlayAsia and I see lots and lots of download cards I could buy. I'd like to make sure i'm buying the right one. This would let me get Yen to buy games on the Japanese PSN? I'm going to be busy this weekend but I'll try to make it out to all the events. It should be a really fun three day weekend.

Is there any plan to expand the size of the game room in GGA? They opened up that other storage section. I know space is super limited and it'd require a lot of work to make it available if that's even possible. Just wondering if there's anything in motion along those lines.
-
Is there anything you can do off CH 5A or CH 5B midscreen that you can't do without the counterhit? I'm finding it doesn't give much a chance to extend the standard combos.

So what's the drawback to guard cancel > OD? Does this just beat everything?

There's a number of different answers to what you're asking. If you're just starting out with Carl, I'd recommend ending your midscreen BnBs with 8D, 3C, and then super. If you don't have the meter or don't want to use 50 meter, the 3C gives you some time to input a Nirvana move on oki and you can create a sort of vortex situation where they keep landing in C-O-N. In the corner, you might make more use of brio since it does more damage, but 8D is also a good combo ender there as well. For summoning Nirvana during a blockstring, something like 5B, 2B, 6B + simultaneous 6D, roll into C-O-N is pretty staple. Alternately you can do 46D or Anima while rolling to create an ambiguous mixup.

Are people going to be downloading the Japanese version of P4U at the end of August or are they going to wait a month for US release?

[CP] Carl Clover Gameplay Discussion (Changelog in OP)
wiredgod replied to Akira-Shiro's topic in Carl Clover
People don't know the matchup and that might be why they bump him up a bit in terms of tier -
The d.6B > 22C~66 > 6C sequence, can you cancel the dash (66) into 6C or this is just a link with strict timing? Could use tips if they exist.
