I got a chance to play through the Story Mode myself finally. The only main WTF? parts to me were the Assassins getting lolpwned and Bedman somehow escaping Zepp custody. Other than that, a few awkward pauses in the automatic continuation feature, and a couple of sparse awkwardly delivered lines, I really enjoyed it. Also, I saw someone mention randomly that Bedman's sister Delilah may be the girl who died under Faust's care. I haven't seen the win quote yet (I don't really use Faust or Bedman), but apparently Faust says that he looks like her if he beats Bedman. That would be an interesting thing that they could throw in down the line if it's true. It would also give more meaning to the "We could never be friends" line that the Bedman announcer has when selecting Faust. Can someone confirm the Faust vs. Bedman win quote? (I'm at work, right now.)

I mean, the singer has his own band that's been around for quite awhile (1982). Almost as long as Metallica. I doubt Naoki Hashimoto sounding Hetfield-ish had anything to do with Daisuke asking him to do it, since he has his own considerable reputation. Well, I just lowered the lifebars a little and it basically looks okay. Just ignore the words cut off on the character select screen and the sidebar button inputs in training mode getting cut off in a strange way at the bottom. But, I kind of hope the next game in the series upgrades the floor and some of the particle textures. The ground shadows look kind of jank, too. I keep forgetting that this is basically one of those borderline, PS3.5 type games.

What I wanna know is what's with there being no scaling type options for the PS4. My TV is set to full resolution and the edges are clearly being cut off and the PS4's internal "application display safe area" thing does nothing. The PS3 version has the option. What gives?

I just booted up GGX2 for teh lulz. While Junichi Suwabe and Ogie Banks sound really different, Ogie Banks is a lot closer to the tone of Mikio Yaeda. People can still think what they want about Venom's English voice. I just thought it was interesting. Also, it's really weird now seeing blood squirt out when you smack people with the pool stick...

You do realize that Sol is, like, 150 years older than Ragna, right? I doubt Ragna has more fight experience. Sol actually created ridiculous magic weapons that he and other people use in his game. Ragna was just given stuff and taught how to use it well. Unless Ragna can summon forth experience from each of his timeloop variations all at once...experience would also go to Sol. But, that said, experience doesn't mean that Ragna couldn't overpower him. But, I doubt he could without just turning into the Black Beast. But, then the question is is the Black Beast still "Ragna" for the purposes of this battle. And even then, not much is known about the extent of Sol's full gear form power.

I can't exactly hunt for these quotes specifically in all of the footage that exists on the interwebs. If you have a video, I can confirm what Sol's lines are, as well as the April onion thing. Edit: Found Sol v. Millia. He is pretty much exactly saying that he's going to tear her hair out next time in Japanese. And to get lost. Sol sounds pretty angry to me mid-match, at least. Edit #2: I think I may have found the correct line. Though, I just say the subtitle in a video before the opening was skipped. April is saying something to the effect of "Go buy that thing." That thing is not specified (likely something already understood between April and May). So, they probably just pulled a random store item out of a hat so the line makes sense in English. I don't personally fault them for that.

I, too, think that it's likely that if someone were to be new to Guilty Gear in playing Xrd, they probably would have little problems with the voices. And, Slayer doesn't sound 17 at all. I don't get that. I also don't get people who say that Axl's accent is Austin Powers bad. Like..., really? I am friends with several English people (and a few Australian people). It's not that bad, y'all.

Yeaaaaaah, ArcSys is only going to get so much extra money out of me. Extra colors is not going to be the way to do it.
