  1. Tao: "Poly tits? Is that a new kind of boobies?" Noel: "Hands off the panda!" Bang: "There are two things in this world that I CANNOT stand! Lies, and evil, and lies...AND BELL PEPPERS!!!" Litchi: "Tao, for the last time, my breasts aren't steamed buns! Stop trying to eat them every time you see me!" Nu: "I want it to happen for us at the EXACT. SAME. TIME." And Tager yelling GENESIC EMERALD TAGER BUSTER is pretty badass.
  2. I can understand that. I've enjoyed songs where I'm kind of clueless as to what's being said. However, I'm of the mindset that if you're going to do a song that either has parts or is completely in a language that's not your native one, you have a responsibility to make sure that it's actually correct. This goes for anybody or any language. That's just being respectful to the language. If they were just going to phone it in, or didn't have the resources to find an English speaker somewhere to check it (highly doubtful because internet, and oh, the fact that they have company branches in America AND Europe), then what's the point of even putting it in English? Do it right or don't do it.
  3. No. The song is awesome. The lyrics? No. No no no no no no. I can understand this. But, the lyrics themselves are pretty much fine. Oh, there is far, far more to be hated, my friend. lol http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/Childish_killer I realize that Engrish is gonna Engrish, but it just makes me especially mad because the lyrics to Black Onslaught may not be perfect, but they at least make some kind of sense. I mean, really: "When he was little boy If when he saved mind So wrong" Wut? Who let this happen? lol I think you guys are confusing bad lyrics with disliking the singer...
  4. Decent episode?! But... But, what will I rage about, now...? I know. IT SHOULD'VE BEEN LIKE THIS FROM THE START, DAMN IT!!! Okay, I'm over it.
  5. For Childish Killer? Yes.
  6. It kind of seems like the English side may not be 100% done. Litchi still has lines missing, for one.
  7. I could definitely do a Jin, Hazama, or Haku-Men voice. I tried sounding like Ragna for a sec and was horrible. lol
  8. Yeah, the 3rd episode was better. But, I feel like the damage has been done already. I'm kind of annoyed because I think a 12-episode series on JUST CT would've worked out a lot better. But, now we're stuck with these episodes where fans of the series barely know what's going on, let alone anyone else. No bueno. I just keep feeling like they're just going to keep throwing in more and more characters with no ability to set them up in any decent way. And because the majority of them were supposed to have met and such already, I feel like everything is just going to be awkward from now on. I know you have to expect some liberties to be taken, but...this isn't good. I want people to be able to get into this, because there's a lot of cool things that go on in the story. And, I really don't think this is going to help...
  9. No Tony Oliver? PROFOUND SADNESS I mean, I like Kramer's Hokage voice, but Oliver was frickin' amazing.
  10. I concur that things were kind of too fast (thought it's beating a dead horse by this point). But, if they are planning on doing some multiple loops then I can kind of understand. But, if I were a random dude that just turned on the show, I'd just be like "lolwut?" and not watch it again. That's kind of a problem. Really, the first episode should've ended with Noel giving Jin the letter and Jin just being like "RAGNA!!!?!aifhasishfiafosfnaisfnaifonani". That plus some of brief flashbacks to the church would've given viewers something to really look forward to. I liked how it started though. That was good foreshadowing of all the shenanigans that were about to occur. So basically, it should've been Nu, Cauldron, Ragna destroying stuff, Rachel, a couple flashbacks, Tao, Hazama trolling Rachel, more flashbacks, Jin and Noel. I think that would've been better. It would've left the viewer with a "Are those 2 the people in Ragna's flashback?" type thing.
  11. ...Maybe the reason for the delay is that they were working on a patch for the patch and didn't want to give the borked patch to anymore people. I don't really know that though.
  12. I only got the chance to play the one time, but Kokonoe is hella fun to use. They definitely made her worth the wait. Fireball gravity shenanigans all day, erry day. Some random things I got a chance to scope out about the music: 1. The Six Heroes theme is called..."Six Heroes". lol 2. These other themes are in the game, but nothing definitive on where they belong: "Science Fiction", "In Justice", "Fatal Judge". I didn't get the chance to look at all of them because I was up against some random dude and I didn't want to waste time.
  13. Annnnnnd, they spelled 'coming' wrong... lol
  14. Something that I would possibly try is "Rebuilding the Database" while in your PS3's safe mode. You have to hold down the power button until it beeps twice. It worked wonders for some slowdown and wonky audio I was getting after switching my hard drive. I've read that it may help for some freezing and drive read issues as well.
  15. There's no 'u' in 'kawaii'. *runs away* *comes back* Anyway, I think there's this kind of 'you whippersnapper' style of old-school versus new school stuff in the anime realm. I think people are far more exposed to basically everything that comes out of Japan now because of internet. When before, everyone was only exposed to the select stuff that companies managed to bring over. Unfortunately, that means that people are exposed to a lot more trope-y, formulaic, shovelware and that kind of ruins it for everybody. But, if the name of the game is growing the community, then throwing up the middle finger at people that have stupid-ass misconceptions can only go so far. But, I suppose that if people don't like certain character designs (e.g. Platinum), then there's not a lot you can do about that. I kind of stopped playing SF4 because I didn't like the way the combat flowed, but I didn't really care for the artstyle either.
  16. Oh lawd, why you even bring that up, mang...? lol
  17. It looks intentional as it's pretty consistent all around. Though, it is a possibility that the frame skip will change for the final product. That is true. Perhaps, I misspoke when I threw out a number then. I'd say that if you were to watch a random anime that's on TV right now, and then watch the game, you'd see something off. It may be because there's a lack of movement blurring going on while 2D can fake some transitioning that way when there is a lack of actual frames. I'll reiterate that this is just for the opening animations and such. The fight looks pretty good barring a few things in animation that are typical of 2D fighters. EDIT: Actually, I think what may be the problem is that it's moving too slowly. If they quickened the openings, then it would likely look fine. The opening's as they are kind of are a tad too lengthy anyway.
  18. Just as an addendum to what I said earlier, I think something else that adds a little bit of visual dissonance to it is that the effects are all seamlessly animated. Things such as the fire and lightning effects, Millia's Chroming Rose flowers as well as some other hair effects. It's like in Blazblue with Litchi and her staff or Mu and her gun turrets. But, maybe people are use to seeing things like that by now because of how some things are done in Blazblue. And then after that, it's not like when the camera does it's super-action shots upon the KO that any frames are skipped. So, it kind of has this dual-presentation that almost feels like it's jumping back and forth between being 2D and 3D. I think that some people will enjoy it, but some will find it strange after a while.
  19. It's more for the opening cutscenes and "Ultra Move" cutscenes where the camera has the close-ups on the specific character. It kind of looks 12-15 frames per second-ish. For comparison, typically a cartoon is around 24 fps and a live action (NTSC) show is about 30 fps. So, since the art looks THAT awesome, your brain thinks of it more as an anime. But, then it doesn't animate as well as one. I hope that kind of makes sense. When you have the game in 3D, and all of your "competitors" seem to look a lot more fluid (even something like, say, the Naruto Storm series that has the same style), it may be something that can be used against them in the general public perception area. During the match, it's basically no different from the XX games in terms of how it animates. But, for me at least, even that's kind of annoying because they certainly have the capability to smooth things out more since they aren't drawing the individual frames. I don't know if full animation tweening for everything would look right for the game. But something to, -without a doubt-, make it look like you are playing the -next- GG after years of XX and its updates, something to really set it apart, would be appreciated on my end. But, I have my degree in Digital Art, so I probably think about things that perhaps others wouldn't. ...It's definitely not prominent. I didn't notice any real curvature at all. But, that's not really what I was looking for. The art on the site is her character model, if you didn't know. Feel free to scrutinize. lol
  20. ...Oh, yeah. Derp. Ky has a line in the game about having to put on a good show because he's a king, but I suppose that could've just come from Overture... They even took the time to add subtitles for the lines. I find that odd if all the lines are just placeholders.
  21. Unfortunately, I only used Chipp briefly. And he wasn't really my character to begin with. Therefore, I can't say. Sorry.
  22. Yo, guys. I am now back from Akihabara (I even ran into ES while I was there!). I can't go into a lot of finer details about the characters because I didn't quite have a set goal in mind when playing. But, I can give you some details about the overall presentation. The game looks and feels eerily like the previous games. I say eerily because it's frickin' using 3D models. A lot of the frames are pretty much dead ringers for the previous games, especially for Millia and her hair which is what surprised me the most. BUT, I do have to say this. The stills do look amazing. But, because the models and such look so great, the fact that during the character's openings and such there is very little tweening going on in the animation, it kind of looks jarring and...well, cheap-looking. Before, it had the "2D game" look, so missing animation frames weren't that big of deal. Now it basically looks like an anime, so the missing frames really stand out greatly. Also, a lot of times during the openings, they zoom in on the character's faces while saying their opening lines. (For now, at least), every one just has the all-purpose, continuous, single mouth flap for whatever it is they're saying. It's..., once again, jarring to look at coming off of other games that have used the cel-shaded style, yet kept the animation tweening intact. This may be just the stylistic choice they have going for the game, and it may just be an acquired taste. But, I have this sinking feeling that in the eyes of the general public, it may be met with some pushback... I will edit this post with some general character impressions soon... Edit #1: All of the characters have one "cinematic" super move where the camera will change to focus upon them as they're preparing for the move (kind of akin to Ultras in SF4). Sol: Tyrant Rave Ky: Ride the Lightning May: Great Yamada Attack Millia: Winger Chipp: Gen'you Rou Zan (for the final downward slash) Venom: Dark Angel Potemkin: (Uhhhh... I didn't get a chance to play as him. I'm thinking Heavenly Buster, though.) This may be ArcSys trying to employ a "signature-this-is-what-you-should-use" type thing, since it's only one per character. Edit #2: Sol has a Dragon Install winpose. It's kind of a cross between Painwheel from Skullgirls and Urien from SF3. I can confirm after doing the move a couple times that Riot Stamp is still a kick like in the previous versions. The second hit knocks the opponent straight to the ground for a bounce rather than pushing them back. If blocked, it launches you higher into the air, giving you the chance to attack again. That new dive kick is srs bzns. As previously stated, performing a DI'd Tyrant Rave turns it into a massive, screen-reaching fireball. Chipp's 236236+K is now a massive whirlwind of punches (Fist of the North Star-style, almost) followed by 2 Beta Blades. His taunts employ manga/anime style emotion lines (such as the throbbing vein). His chin is reeeeeeeeeeally pointy now. Almost Wicked Witch of the West-style... His burst is a very faithful rendition of the 2D version. "Find Me" has him kind of going from fully there and then turning into what looks like static interference as opposed to the previous games. Millia's Chroming Rose involves various flowers suddenly appearing on screen after its activation. The opponent will definitely have to be on the defensive for this one. HS Tandem Top has a new animation. It's pretty cool looking. Venom's QV is basically Dubious Curve with a new animation. As opposed to smacking you with the ball, he summons a decent distance in front of him. The blast radius of the ball upon summoning is palpable. Upon hit, it moves into place depending on the button you used. Bishop Runout is a giant, flaming ball that can be ping-ponged back and forth across the screen for a limited time with no regard for whether it hit, was dodged, or blocked. I don't think you can charge Carcass Raid anymore. At least, it didn't work when I tried. I may have done something wrong. His opening animation is -fabulous-. It involves him striking a pose, followed by a hair flip. I find it hard to believe that anytime has passed for May at all. I dunno if they were just using clips from the previous games (she still has the "Treat me like a kid at your own risk!" line), or her VA just gave the exact same performance. Her 63214+HS doesn't even involve the anchor. It's just her flailing her arms in a circle reeeeeeeally hard at you. It doesn't even knock you back that far as far as I can remember. Potemkin's new move (well, I didn't recognize it), 63214+K involves him hitting the ground and encasing himself in fire. He has this, as well as the flying missile attack. His opening animation has a jet flying overhead dropping a cargo/weapons crate, which he then jumps out of. Ky's Grinders are gonna be serious business. It adds a completely different feel to his gameplay. Placing the seals in the air is interesting because then you have to make sure you can then actually aim your Stun Edges into them. Since Ky can't teleport like Venom can, people are probably going to have to be careful. Grinder + Sacred Edge = instant, full-screen sword. Caught me by surprise completely (I was fighting against him). Ky has a cape which he throws away in his opening animation. Edit #3: I'm gonna guess that the "You Rock" screen with your opponent lying on the ground is gonna be the new win quote screen. Defeating your opponent can lead to some different camera effects. One being just a single camera angle change, another being a three-camera angle change (think TTT2), and the third being a circular, pan around shot. Welp, that's all for what's off the top of my head. If I have more things to contribute as people ask the right questions, then I'll chime in...
  23. Anybody wanna start speculating on what the final roster count'll be? +R has 25, so they should probably surpass that somehow. I'm thinking that they could start from 22 (no Order Sol, Kliff, or Justice) and then add Sin, Izuna, Paradigm, Valentine, and Raven (they can have plot shenanigans so that Axl and Raven can be there at once). And then, maybe 1 new character. Is 28 a decent number? Maybe "That Man" will be the boss this time (and actually get a real name)? What do you guys think? Is that feasible? They'd have to come up with fleshed out movesets for the 5 GG2 characters so we probably won't get a slew of completely new characters. Would people be satisfied? How attached are people to Kliff and Justice?
  24. Huh. I was kind of expecting everyone to get some kind of makeover. I wouldn't say that they phoned it in or anything, but...the fact that only Potemkin has the new look out of everyone revealed today seems really off to me. But, VENOM. AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, YEAHHHHHHHHHH.
  25. I definitely want to see some Venom. Chipp, Baiken, Dizzy, Testament, or Slayer would be cool, too. Everyone's probably gonna have to wait for Bridget. I'm sure they have special reveal plans for him...
