I understand Demo's frustration, but if he really wants to play Tekken, he needs to get in on some of those Illuminati Tekken gatherings in our state, travel out-of-state to play Tekken, and just kind of let go of the idea of Tekken being mainstream in NC for now. He would be a lot happier that way. This is not to say I don't like Demo being around. Demo is that guy. But yeah, fuck playing games you don't like just because they're popular. -

Japan figured out Ragna a lot faster than the American scene did, so you probably didn't see as many because most of them couldn't compete as well. I remember a friend of mine who was over in Japan for a year told me that Hazama and Ragna were the two most popular characters too, so that may have something to do with it. Generally they don't want to put up matches of something they see all the time.

It's Ragna, everything pushes to corner. 5B-5C -> HF -> Addition pushes to corner. I also think the jury is still out on BE being bad. It's just a lot harder to get a clean hit with it now. Apparently it also has better recovery on block? You get 5B after landing it on CH, so either blockstun/hitstun on it was increased, or he recovers faster when landing. Either situation is pretty nice.

Depends on the situation, it's ~+11 or +12 on block if I'm reading the frame data correctly, but that's assuming you block it on the first active frame. Done meaty, it's significantly more (GB is active for 14 frames). Distance is a factor too. If I'm doing a crossup GB after the 2D -> GB(whiff) setup, I'm a lot closer, so it's pretty good there. If it's just run up meaty GB on your wakeup, I'm farther away. I'm still messing with it, really. It only cuts off the last 2 or 3 frames of HOS's recovery if I'm reading the data correctly, so I'm not sure whether or not it's really worth the meter spent. EDIT: Messing with this makes me think the frame data is really inconsistent on this move. Using the situation outlined above, with an FRC, I have time to dash up and 2S, which cannot be escaped by jumping away. Whereas without an FRC, you jump away well before I get very close. Doesn't seem consistent with what is only supposed to be a 2-3 frame difference. -
From reading Nokita's posts, it's actually not that hard to tack on a 22C at the end of a combo, especially if you have the other guy cornered. All you really need is a chance to hit 3C, and ID -> Straight Punch at the corner gives you that for free. 22C is still +6 as well, so oki is still there, just not quite as flexible.

Practicing GG is soooo much more satisfying than practicing BB. -
EX Kyo is 1.overrated, and 2.not tourney legal. Nobody cares. Having Kula on your team basically lets you have two leaders. Everyone is "beatable", that doesn't mean they aren't overpowered. Apparently I know at least as much as you do, if not more. Dark Geese routinely lost to players from my state (North Carolina) in SNK games. He never beat us in NGBC, he never beat our best KOFXI player. He was also a two-faced crybaby. I really don't care about anything he does. Ok, so why should I care? What tournament are you talking about? When did this tournament happen? Answers to these questions determine whether or not I really care.

Man, watching that match makes me sad, people calling my Gunblazes all day. I really gotta work on my tourney nerves so I don't always fall back on safe oki when I need to mix up.

There are two ways to TK, the first is to hit up and then input the motion very quickly, the other is to input the motion first and THEN hit any up direction + button. The former method is what I use for this combo and I think it works best/is easier when trying to TK off of a JCable move. The latter method is best for when you need to TK a move by itself, as it generally comes out much faster. If you have difficulty telling whether or not you are TKing properly for this combo, look at Ragna's feet. If you're doing a grounded CID, there will be a larger puff of smoke around his feet where he leaves the ground, while the air version has no smoke and so all you see is the tiny dustcloud from the normal jump.

Both 4D and 7D avoid HF entirely, and 4D gives a free punish from [w]j.B, so yeah. HF is not legit for stopping wolf rushdown, provided the Valk is paying attention.

A continuation of what Final Ultima posted above, only these versions work anywhere on the screen. The basic formula works like this. After any B&B that doesn't allow a 22C and uses a SINGLE BE, do this: (after BE) dash 6A, TK CID, delay Upper, delay Heel Drop, falling j.C -> BE~ Basic example, do 4B+C, dash 5D -> DC, j.B-C, JC dj.C -> BE, dash 6A, TK CID, delay Upper, delay Heel Drop, falling j.C -> BE, dash 5D -> 22C This combo does 3456 dmg and gives 22C oki. The increase in damage compared to the usual combo from 4B+C is ~400 points, plus you get superior oki anywhere on the screen. It's important to TK CID as low as possible, and include a dash before 6A, in order to get the proper height and momentum for j.C to connect after the Heel Drop. The delay for Upper is VERY slight, but you have to delay it or they won't be in proper position. This extension works off of most non-22C combo starters, including 5B-6A combos, all forms of Gauntlet Hades combos, pretty much any version of throw, including airthrows, anti-air combos, the list goes on (actually that's most of them, lol). There are a few setups where this will not work, the B&B CID combo is a good example (proration just gets too high, and too many hits). Otherwise, get creative with it. Next time, more corner-specific combos for high damage.

I will, I was just kinda hanging onto all my setups for a video. But the truth is that I have no capture equipment and no experience making vids, so I might as well share what I figured out. It really sucks that these setups only work on 4 characters, cuz the combos are really cool and useful.

True, but the setup I'm talking about will work off of anything. Gauntlet Hades, Throw, Airthrow, 5B-6A, you name it. Pretty much any combo that doesn't normally allow 22C, from anywhere on the screen, with a handful of exceptions.

Yeah, I played Zidane's Valk at NEC and it confirmed most of my feelings on the character, he's really sick when he gets a hit in but otherwise he is overrated. I think 2nd Taokaka is a pretty good description, minus Tao's ridiculous mixup potential and add a shitton of damage. 6C as a standalone poke is fantastic, gotta find an answer to that. IB is your friend in this match.
