I think they changed the name for Sol's back to Give me a break, it showed as Junk Yard Dog before but now it shows the original name. In any case, they need to go ahead and announce the release date for the OST so I can preorder it. =(

Azrael had the advantage of having awesome normals though. -

Corner combos into stance super have been the highest damage output that I've seen so far. Dunno how easy they would be to set up, but if we can find ways to maintain momentum once inside, I don't think it would be that big of a deal. But yeah, I wouldn't expect him to be Millia/Zato/Ram level. That's a given when you consider his character design. But that also doesn't mean he won't be competitive. -

Well ultimately, if the character doesn't operate well in neutral, then it's difficult to win. How Leo fares has yet to be seen IMO, but I'm kinda on the fence about how it'll work out. -

I wonder, is 5K considered throw invul as well during the frames it goes over lows? Would be very nice if so. -
Console always brings new tech and new counters as well. Maybe he labbed it out against Chipp and found some easy counters to his nonsense?

Yeah his challenge combos are pretty easy, probably because he's a console character. He's also kinda lacking in damage, from what I've seen. His neutral feels weird too. Normals that look pretty good, but then seem kinda slow. It'll be interesting to see how his metagame plays out. -

Not sure what to do with this guy just yet. There's potential, though. -

Ehhhh, given how the game runs on PS3, I doubt they'd want to try and port it to Vita. The PS4 version is the definitive version without question. -

Actually Layer did call him out specifically, saying his mentality would be the reason Xrd would do poorly. I mean, I understand really. There are certain games that I am only interested in due to certain characters. Like, if the next Soul Calibur had no Maxi and no other interesting character to me, I would probably not play it. Some games we like for the characters, and some games we like for the game itself. It is what it is. -

I don't think there's anything overtly surprising about those numbers. Plus looking at the games above it, portables are dominant, which is consistent with what has been said about the gaming market in Japan. -

If I can do Millia combos, then you know she's easier than she used to be. Also, I get the feeling that setplay is what dominates the game at high level, and if anyone has setplay, it's Millia. -

You should always be able to FD out of a clash, even if that clash triggers Danger Time. There's nothing that forces you to take damage. -

It's pretty awesome as a feint. At full screen with 25% meter and people hunting for 22K YRC, it's a good way to make people flinch. Good in blockstrings too. Pretty sure Endou spams it for a reason.- 260 replies

DP hitbox makes it a weak reversal. No cancels unless it connects, and making it whiff is pretty easy. Still fodder for the true oki beasts. -

Slash Ky is a busted character. Sin is not Slash Ky. You also have to think about the environment a character comes up in; Slash Ky in this game would not be top tier. Slash Ky being top was more a product of Slash being very different from previous GG versions. Also, you mentioned Marvel as if Marvel were a traditional fighter. It's not. It's very anime. SO ANYWAY, yeah, Sin does a lot of damage. -

Nobody's saying he's doomed. I know it's depressing when people are down on a new character, but you have to keep those limitations in mind while trying to develop him. People in general are spending too much time being focused on how much freakin' damage he does with easy combos and someone comes in to point out some weak points where he might need some extra attention to develop and all of a sudden it's the end of the world? Another thing is you came in like "you anime players and your oki", as if oki isn't just as important in other fighters. Not to mention that neutral doesn't play out in GG the same way it would in a traditional fighter. The movement is just too good for you to sit back and toss out good normals all day. -

Sol 5S bodies Sin 5S as long as Sol's in range. Neutral =/= fireballs. Sin is not Johnny. Anyway, the point is, don't belittle the value of having strong oki. Sin's neutral isn't bad, but it's not good enough to make up for having weak oki. -

He doesn't have to be Millia to be good. That doesn't mean that he's good, though. Being able to hit big combos means nothing if you can't open someone up. The history of GG is littered with characters who wrecked people whenever they got a hit, but were subsequently not all that great because they couldn't land said hit. -

TITANIUM BEAST!!! replied to Ventus Tatshima's topic in Sin Kiske
If you look at the top characters in airdashers, they usually have godlike oki or godlike neutral, and often they have both. Looking at Faust/Millia/Ramlethal for example, Faust has godlike neutral and pretty good oki. Millia has good neutral and godlike oki. Pretty sure Ram has both. Sin has none of these. This doesn't necessarily mean he's bad, but it doesn't bode well for your character when he gets out neutraled by Sol and Ky and both of those characters have better oki as well. -

Depends on the super. Dragon Install, for example, has a relatively long, YRC-able startup before superflash. So the longer pre-flash startup is, the more time you have to YRC.
