  1. Did we really need to do this???
  2. The house for casuals is changing? Where's the new one?
  3. It can push opponents out, deal chip, and negate some projectiles. That's all I know.
  4. Things I noticed: Let's start with the obvious. Big spear=good midrange control. She has a big as heck overhead. It goes about a fourth to a third of the screen and although the animation is obvious it's fast. She has a humongous AA normal. Can't say I know about it's invuln, but it can be seen hitting grounded foes as well. Drive can be charged for greater rewards. The angle of the drive can be changed while it charges. During its flight the move can be redirected. It looks like from medium charge onward I think it can be combo'd from. Low 2A and 2B from the looks of it. Both long reaching and both using her foot. Natsumikaze is trash. Upon activation the opponent gets a moment to reflect on their choices and rapid into block or dodge. She can use her "Dragoon Jump" super out of her command dash which helps make up for it's pitiable horizontal range in combos. Her j.C, or at least I think it's her j.C, is weird. It's like Bullet's in that it hits the opponent upward normally, butit knocks down on counterhit, but instead this one emergency techs the opponent making its usefulness questionable. Otherwise her knockdown in the air is done by her dive specials. Es instantblocked her fullscreen rushing move and ended up having her own 2A trade with Mai's 3C...
  5. So new game's dropping soon and I find this gem in CPEX -_-" Corner with Ignis out: XX>5B>3C>41236B+D>6B>delay>5D>5B>2C>TKj.236C>2C>6C>last frame 236C>663C>214C or 5D what this does is regenerate Ignis fully and get 2.5K~3.5K damage. The combo time requirement is flexible enough to work off of even 236D+j.C. It does have to be altered if the opponent isn't close enough to Rel to fly into him after 41236B, but the only change is pressing 5B instead of 6B. At the cost of 23% Ignis at the start-up it's a pretty hard but very rewarding combo. You can also do 6C>CT>3C>236C at the end if you messed up the spacing for 6C>last frame 236C or if you want to burn meter for more time in the case where Ignis is blue barred.
  6. I was watching the wrong heat gauge rip. 'x' still looks quite nice, although I'd be willing to bet we could get more damage from it.
  7. Dissecting footage... Looks like Mordred(2) can be DP'd if Mordred(1) is instant blocked. 'x' It looks like Grifflet got knockdown (It's possible the Ragna didn't airtech?) Grifflet also has the second hit come out on hit or block... if the second hit is RC'd it makes for a nice cross-up with j.D '3' Mordred (2) can be airdash canceled on hit by the looks of it. things>Mordred(2)>airdash>j.D>5B>2C seems to work. Seems to be a consistent way to combo anywhere. Es Counter Assault looks godlike in terms of horizontal range, probably the longest in the game judging solely by appearance, but it looks a bit lacking vertically. We should add Erec and Tristan to the OP prolly.
  8. Any BB players coming to fights this Friday?
  9. I don't think there's a single air normal in the game that gets landing canceled from the earliest you can use it after a backwords IAD, so I'd be shocked if it did. Even Terumi's slow as snails j.D makes it out with time to spare. However even if that is a problem one only needs to superjump and delay the back airdash a tiny amount to get virtually the same effect I'd think.
  10. TBH I see more merit in doing round start air backdash>j.D unless you're certain they're giving chase immediately. Setting that big ol crest makes the pokes and AAs you do soon after scarier as you can use it to confirm into bigger damage or else recover and start pressure. Even if they take evasive action to avoid your interception they'll be forced to go very far into the air or be caught by the crest anyway. if they don't immediately approach and their presence at neutral isn't too frightening using Bors shortly after you place the crest couldn't be a bad idea, and from there you can plot your entrance, begin bullying with Es fun projectiles, or even plant another crest as the j.D crest detonates.
  11. GGs Optimist! Gotta play again soon.
  12. Oh right on, well until more info surfaces I'll drop it. No harm no foul. In other news do we have anything in the way of shorthand for Bors enhanced moves? If not how about we do e.214C e.623C and e.214B for normal Mordred Griflet and Gwain respectively and E.214C E.623C and E.214B for their powered up versions or something like that?
  13. So wait, can they or can they not be delayed or feinted? Can we set the record straight?
  14. Well if it's really possible to manipulate the timing of Crest Art activations it's concievable that you could use the Crest to cover the recovery of the grab/overhead should they be blocked or whiff. What's more the crests could be activated on start-up should the opponent try to mash out, and if Erec is really like Noel's Muzzle Flitter, then it very well might be able to combo from the Crest into an okay punish. The biggest problems I can see with that is that DPs are liable to blow that mix-up into extinction. Furthermore has it been confirmed that one can manipulate the times that Crest Arts will go off? Is it known how it is done?
  15. I'm around Detroit as well, a couple miles northeast of where Luna is. '3'
  16. I still play BB Optimist, however a free Friday for me is a rare thing indeed. Love to play ya sometime though.
  17. Thoughts on CF Tao by Mashthat5A from the Discord/his twitter: http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1soj7b4
  18. If you don't see the character being discussed you can always start topics of discussion! Also there's a Tao Discord now, but that's kinda barren at the moment. More another format to discuss the character within, which truthfully doesn't solve the underlying problem of why she's not being discussed. But really, if there's anything you'd like to talk about with this character I'm always game for it! New ideas or rehashing old concepts or dilemmas, strike up a dialogue about one of the characters I main/sub and I'm there.
  19. Does teching a throw or having your throw teched remove ribcage? Food for thought, but if it does we could try grabbing to remove Ribcage. It something some Rel players hazard when they need to emergency desummon Ignis, and if it goes through depending on how 'Nami's thows are, she may be able to just combo into Rib-burst (I don't quite know what her throws do to the opponent so tell me if that's a non-option.) Additionally, does Izanami have any good boxing tools from throw tech range that could make such a strat workable?
  20. Fun fact about stopping them in the air, you can just land and charge fireball on them and it does a fair bit of damage.
  21. I think Ribcage dies to unblockables and grabs, but not guardbreak. Anyone know/have footage of how it interacts with CTs and Plat's hammers?
  22. Well whatever works works. There doesn't need to be one single notation, so long as they're all understandable.
  23. Stopped by for a lil' fun fact, during the command grab's timestop it appears that neither you nor your opponent can gain heat whatsoever. The grab also does not give the opponent heat upon activation, so you can remove a good shark bite out of their health bar without giving them meter to mount their reversal.
  24. To save from the trouble of writing "NORMAL" or "FLOAT" before every non jumping input Izanami is capable of let's abbreviate FLOAT to f. and leave NORMAL out. For "float cancel" we can abbreviate to (f.c), and for "float uninstall" or "cancel float" we can abbreviate to (c.f). For combos that use Ribcage's follow-up we only need to say that Ribcage needs to be active at the beginning of the combo since it's a requirement of the combo like heat or OD. so JC->J2C->J8 (float cancel)->float 5B->float 5C->float 8 (float uninstall)->JB->JC->normal 5B->normal 3C->623B (ribcage attack)->normal 5B->8 (jump cancel)->JB->JCC Becomes (Ribcage active) j.C>j.2C>f.c>f.5B>f.5C>c.f>j.B>j.C>5B>3C>623B>5B>j.B>j.CC It carries the same amount of information and, to me, feels a good bit more simplified to type. we could also just leave the f.c and c.f out and let changes from 5C>j.5C>f.5C imply they happened to condense the text further if we wanted. Lemmie know whatcha think.
