[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)
Ctrlaltwtf replied to kosmos badgirl's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Honestly with the rate Hakumen gets stars I'd likely stick to Burst/OD combo. I rarely ever lose on Hakumen because "I don't have enough stars!" I lose mainly just due to usual reasons like bad calls/being outplayed -
How to learn a combo without video/notation?
Ctrlaltwtf replied to Okidoki_Sir's topic in Beginner Mode
The core concept behind Aksys fighters is always "Bunch of basic attacks -> Special Attack Finisher." Obviously, there's plenty of exceptions to that, but the way Special Attacks are linkable off of most basic attacks usually makes them end up as your combo finisher. Revolver Action (the ability to cancel basic attacks into other basic attacks) plays a key role in combos as well. Most characters can always do some kind of A-B-C-D combo. So for Ragna's combo the very first Combo you learn to do is A B C D Hell's Fang. Once you can do that on confirm, start looking at better, more complicated things to do. Your combos will get better and better once you figure out ways to skip needing to use low-proration moves like As and Bs. Looking at Ragna again, he goes 6A -> j.C j.D -> j.C j.D because j.C and j.D are the highest damage basic attacks he can use in midair that still manage to combo. Using j.A or j.B before them would just shittify his damage. So use your strongest basic attacks, but use weaker ones if you have to in order to get them to connect. That's the basic principle behind designing strong combos. The key is to figure which attacks are "worth it" in that the damage they do is worth the proration they put on the rest of your combo. Looking at Ragna's A B C D Hell's Fang, you might think that just C D Hell's Fang is better. This is true, but if my memory serves, B C D Hell's Fang actually does more, because Ragna's B is still a "worthwhile" hit. Also, high jumps have an "after image" effect on them. -
"The ability to do 7k meterless combos is insignificant, next to the power of DDDDDD." I hereby award the title Darthumen to mac

My god....standard definition

Definitely, there were no freezes against you tonight, unlike on your wireless.
-
lol remember that time you astraled my ouroboros yesterday. I probably had about 2 frames to input A in order to save myself. Suffice to say I failed. I hate the way your first input gets locked during super-freezes xD

ogod I'd hate to work at wal-mart during christmas. Well, I'd hate to work in retail period. I don't like people, you see. Also the endless rows of long parallel lights in most convenience stores give me headaches after a while (same issue I have with the training stage) Ah nice, I'm dealing with the school assignment stuff now. Thankfully, this is what "school assignment" looks like in my case. So I actually enjoy the work when I finally decide to do it (last ten minutes before it's due, obviously)

I turn my TV to dustloop to post stuff, turn back to Xbox just in time to see mac facedown after getting perfected by Makoto. I guess tonight wasn't a complete waste. I did notice I got significantly better after eating lol. You work in retail mac?
-
lol last year during xmas rush I worked 60 hour weeks. At least the OT pay is nice. And BOTH yukikazes turned into jump D. I think it's a sign. Shippu really is something you gotta take seriously, it's really not a slow move in the slightest (you were already halfway done with your air dash and I still got you) Most of my Haku BS revolves around using Shippu in mad gay ways

I fall asleep at work with only 6 hours of sleep. I sure hope your job doesn't require you to do anything that requires being awake. Let's do our final Haku mirror.
-
Better, but receiving nothing when inputting SIR on 3C is impossible to NOT get salty over. I would've won the match with it too Dem hungry coils feints xD
-
Nah, Jin is way worse. I'd rather deal with constant 2C turtling then constant 2A spam -> enemy crosses you up and reverses your inputs -> Doesn't matter! Jin's shit works in any direction! Can't wait to Agito your 2C to hell K mac, I'm digesting 2 slices of hawaiian pizza now. Energy levels are rising.
-
dat auto-pilot ice car. People wonder why I hate Jin. I'd much rather fight your Tsubaki.
-
*sigh* Sorry I'm just wasting everyone's time. I have no idea what the fuck is wrong with me tonight. Although I must admit, I was surprised to find my Hakumen bodying Mac for 1.9 rounds. The next 1.1 rounds played out the way I expected though lol

Is the Strawberry Pockymen still in CSE?
-
In case you hadn't noticed, I'm completely free right now. Honestly I wasn't planning on coming remotely close to victory. I think I need to eat somthing, my arms feel kinda jittery lol. Apparently Dr. Pepper and Snickers isn't enough to sustain Haku-men level energy levels.
-
Haku-men: D Noel: D Hazama: SIR Everyone else: DP
-
With the rise of CP hype I notice it's much easier to get players on CSE now. Not nearly as deserted as it used to be.
-
You need to fight me at least once. And make sure to pick your gold hakumen and let the intro play out.
-
*sees toan back on the internets* YOU DODGED?!!?
-
