  1. Are you using pad? There were some errors with diagonals on pad concerning the port. That may have just been on 360 though (I experienced it myself when I played pad).
  2. Is it "Micael Smithan". That's the closest I can find towards your description aside from some people who live within Oxford. Also I'm sending requests to everybody else because I don't want them to miss out on stuff like this: [19:12:25] AwesomeAfro: I was practicing Millia this morning :D [19:12:30] Inwith Theashes: Have knockdown, will travel. [19:12:35] AwesomeAfro: TK Badmoons <3 [19:12:48] Inwith Theashes: 16 FRAMES YAY. [19:12:49] TSS A Perfectly: I shook my mouse in frustration at that. 3. ... But said speed increase mostly didn't involve startu0p frames whatsoever, just the general flow and mechanics of the game. Our mixup is actually worse now, seeing as air pan startup got nerfed (although it's safer on block at least).
  4. ... Who's he? Am I just being oblivious here or not?
  5. I think he got too many infractions and it was just for a week. Can anyone confirm this?
  6. ... Which Michael Smith are you? I mean that is one of the most regular names ever lol.
  7. I don't play Hazama, but an observation I've made would be the fact that a lot of on site groups tend to be pretty dead, while Skype groups tend to be more thriving (the U.K. thread pretty much almost ceased traffic once we got a Skype group lol). I'm not entirely sure why, but it's something to be cautious of.

... Shit I just realised I could indeed react towards the backdash and punish it. Unless maybe for J.2S, which I might have to do too early for it, intend to test that. As for other gaps: These aren't frame traps we're talking about. They're wide enough for somebody to throw out something of, as I said, at least 5 frames to begin and beat whatever I have. Although, if they were mashing, there were probably tiny gaps earlier on that would catch that, so eh. I knew Dizzy had double airdash, just sort of didn't consider it for oki that much . And thanks for the setups.
  9. Shit, the breaks are one frame? Well that explains a lot of things.
  10. Wait, they weren't in them? Oh. How did that work?
  11. ... Wouldn't that just make throws terribly terribly broken?

A small question: How many gaps, exactly, would you say most setups have? You see, I've been looking at doing things such as 2H corner knockdown > 214HP > Dash jump > AD J.2S/2K/Throw, which seems to be pretty gapless itself. However, after that, to get another mixup, I seem to only have one option each for both the high and low, them being bite > c.S > Fw.JC > Bite > AD J.2S>2K>Throw (high) and c.S > Bite XX 2D (2D connects almost at the same time as the bite) > IAD (slightly delayed for the throw) > Bite > J.2S/2K/Throw. The problem is, after recording them and trying to figure out potential ways to halt them, I found that these both indeed have gaps in them: Exploitable, counterable gaps: For the first, there is a gap between the c.S and second bite that allows the opponent to backdash (the timing for this isn't particularly difficult), then then throw out something to stop whatever happens next (including Sol being able to 2H counter hit ;_. For the second, while the J.2S ending actually seems pretty solid, for the others there's a gap where they can use something of at least five frames/a DP, and it will take me out. These aren't the only things I've tried, but all of them have problems such as these (it's actually usually that damned backdash second bite > counter hit thing). However, something I've noted: These gaps are things that people would probably only know about if they did what I did and recorded them, before trying to see as to whether gaps are included. Which would lead me to wonder as to whether thae point would be to mixup not only with high/low/throw elements, but with what exact oki setup you're using as to prevent them from knowing which gaps are currently present (although that probably won't help if the gap is always the same/similar as with that backdash option. You'd also of course do this anyway, but I was wondering as towards whether this was the exact point of doing so), or to simply not let there be any counterable gaps within the setup while you do your mixup? I want to know if what I've been looking for while devising my setups (ie. completely gapless twice over mixups) is available or not.
  13. There could be more to experiment with, and therefore, the actual average could be higher but it's as of now somewhere around the 2K mark. And yes, the damage of most of the cast did get nerfed, but Plat is a particularly large case.
  14. ... Aren't we just moving into the same debate again? I think we've already covered most of the topic, and what was just said here didn't really add anything else.
  15. Can I come? Please. We let an American into ours. ;_; Name is also linked at left.
  16. Guilty GG's to everybody yesterday~ Why, exactly, have I been using fish in neutral as uncommonly as I did until now? They're amazing for that stuff.
  17. But it is all about skill at the higher levels... As long as you don't play absolutely huge games like Injustice/Marvel that have thousands of dollars in pot bonuses. But yes this was absolute bullshit. I don't even care about Injustice and I'm pissed. I mean, at least the random select thing they did in Marvel was tinily, minorly, minutely amusing, if just as depressing.
  18. I would also advise you stop playing against those AI's. It does indeed tend to develop unfavourable habits and that probably won't help your aim much.
  19. Axl X Coach bags: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16443-coach-outlet-cathay-pacific Edit: Oh wait, thought that one wasn't reported.
  20. Pretty much. However, console CP is still a few months away (for Japan, nobody's entirely sure about the release date for any other country), so I'd recommend you keep playing anyway if you want. Oh, and thanks for coming to the site, and welcome to the Platinum boards.
  21. POSITIVE THINKING. No, seriously, just thinking positively, while not a magical cure all, can help you keep dedicated and focus on whatever problems you have during the game better than you already do, and thus discover what you're doing more and correct it. If neutral is your problem, I'd just recommend you experiment with different things against other certain things (with help from your match videos) until you find something that works: If somebody is doing the same thing repeatedly against you, and it repeatedly keeps working, then I would say that your not doing things right as to avoid it.
  22. I would actually say that GG is more challenging towards the beginner, simply due towards how much more there is to learn. However, maybe due towards this, I find that players start using advanced stuff later than BB, or at least that doing things that almost certainly will get you killed during high level play due towards how unsafe they are tend to work on newer players of it better (I swear Kanashimi, one day I shall make you regret using 5D in blockstrings so often). I'd personally recommend Guilty because of two things: It's cheaper and, if you do come from a Capcom background, despite what I said earlier you may actually feel more comfortable beginning with it rather than Blaz, due towards it's larger emphasis on fundamentals. Also, seeing as you live in Jersey, you're actually sort of in a fine position: It does seem to have something of a Guilty scene there, and one of the more notable members of the community and a very active tournament organizer for both games (St1ckbug) lives there. It would be a suggestion to go post in the area thread for it and ask if anybody lives near you.
  23. Lol. Like I said, this was secondhand information (or maybe secondhand impressions from his boards) I had. Thanks for confirming my inaccuracy.
  24. Johnny actually apparently contains a lot of one frame links within his combo's, although his FRC's are of average difficulty. This is all secondhand information on my part though, so I'd believe it best to wait for an actual Johnny player to come along, or just try his stuff out anyway and see how it works for you. Haku and Aki I've only ever played in training mode, but they don't seem particularly hard execution wise. Again though, I'd suggest you wait for someone who actually plays them to give something more definitive (one of the Michigan guys is the Akihiko mod, I'd say he's able to provide a lot of information on that and other Aki aspects).
  25. Guilty netcode is currently pretty sucky, although there has been promised better effectiveness within that regard once the +R patch arrives. In the meantime, you've got at least one person to play the game with offline with, so that's better than the majority of the U.K. . Even if your both beginners it's probably better than netplay, especially Guilty netplay. I'd advise to go look in the match finder thread for Michigan for more competition: Aparrently their scene is mostly based in the east, although there's not much Guilty interest there last time I checked (they mostly seem to play BB/P4A).
