Wouldn't really say grappler, he has only Megidola as a command grab, which just adds up to his mix-up game, like Minazuki's command grab. I'm thinking on a good pressure game. Adachi has the tools to inflict pressure on the opponent easily. This is still early speculation, since we don't know every full details about his moves yet, but this seems to be the case so far. Also, 5D has the potential to be an Oki tool. Watch out guys!

There are several reasons, 1- His 5C, 2C and j.2C are all mini-grabs on hit. 2- Megidola is a command grab. 3- C Version Evil Smile doesn't have a hitbox like Mitsuru's Marin Karin. 4- Supers. We are still not sure if Ziodyne (5D) can be escaped with a burst. It is certainly burstable though. The only burst-able attacks confirmed are his j.C and 2D. Out of 11 attacks, this is a really great number. The opponent must think carefully on where to burst and when to burst, since a wrong burst is most like going to be death for the opponent.

Small correction there. I feel like his 5AAA will be really important if you want to extend your combos, because it has ground bounce. I'm thinking of 5AAA>5BB>5C>2B>j.2C could be a legit combo, and if we can combo after j.2C, then it's gonna be really good. most likely deal 2K. (More in the corner, hopefully)

On topic of the boss chars... I don't recall Yu ever doing 2.3K damage in a 3-hit combo. Might this be a damage increase to the boss chars?

While checking Tumblr, I happened to stumble across this: This week’s issue of Famitsu also goes into some of the customization options found in P4U2, from glasses and color variations for the playable characters, to Navi characters, to background music. Some content can be obtain as you progress through the game, while other content will be available as downloads, both free and paid. over 4000 titles for your player card boss characters can be used in VS Mode, Arcade Mode more arena announcer voices the player persona-card will serve as an introduction to opponents It seems that it's translated to confirm this info. If this is true then... HAHAHAHAHA SCORE ATTACK ELIZABETH I FINALLY GET TO USE YOU, BOW DOWN PEASANTS!

His j.C and 2D attacks are burstable. The others are either grab on hit, a super, or doesn't truly have a hitbox (Evil Smile is like Mitsuru's Marin Karin) The only possible exception might be his 5D, however, since it's a long beam attack, even if you burst, you still might get hit.

(Interest Check) Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Day 1 Global Tournament
Djqubil replied to Djqubil's topic in P4A Online Play
Well guys, interest or not, I'm moving the date to 31th August. The reason is that, we are still not sure if it's region locked for JP version and there still could be problems getting the game day 1, even on download. Plus, it will give us time to learn our characters. The tournament is still global and it will still begin at 4PM EST. Sign-ups will be open once the game comes out. Thank you for your understanding. -

(Interest Check) Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Day 1 Global Tournament
Djqubil replied to Djqubil's topic in P4A Online Play
Nothing was announced so far. It will most likely be region free (because locking it at this point would be the dumbest thing they could do.), however, if it's region locked then I will move this day 1 tournament to the release date of the NA release date. -
It would be easier to say if we actually knew what Heat Riser and Magatsu Mandala buffs do to Adachi. From what we have seen, I'd say Adachi does the perfect job of being a fast attacker. His 5B, Sweep, AoA and Are You Scared? are fast, 5B potentially allowing as a small "Get out" attack, because of the jab he does. (Going to dub that as 5BB, 5BBB also possible.) Sweep allows for a fast get in attack, AoA adds up to his mix-up game and Are You Scared? can be REALLY useful, if it hits low. You're annoying! SP Version does seem to look like it can be followed after a successful hit. It throws the opponent to the other side, which is really awesome when you are cornered, and you need to get out. Megidola (His command grab) also looks fast as well, potentially adding an important tool to his mix-up game. Only 2/3 of his Persona attacks are burstable. Instant Advantage right there. Oh and there is the fact that he can inflict Fear at any given moment, making untechable grabs a scary tool. Overall, he has the potential to be a strong mix-up character, and when he can set everything up, it's gonna be hell for the opponent. That is my inital though for Adachi.

Well, there goes that. Never noticed that button though. :u

This is just a hunch for me, but I thought of something when I looked at the character screen. If they reveal Margaret, the entire screen will be full, without any sort of random select. Now, I'm sure that I haven't saw a fighter that didn't have a random select option, and this is what interests me. If there is a rule about random select option being in every fighting game, then they must extend the screen, which means that there is STILL some possibility that 2 more characters could get in. You might be thinking that, if there will be more characters, then they should've put them on the cards and the title screen. Yes, but what if it was nearly a spoiler char, say... Minato? ...of course, this is all just a random guess from me, based on the random select option dissapearing from the screen when the 3 DLC chars fill the screen. If there is even a single fighting game that doesn't have a random select option, then my theory will be proven false.

Technically, his 2C involves Magatsu Izanagi slamming down the opponent like YOLODIVE, so there is some hope. Adachi is basicly going to be a threat, simply because most of his Persona attacks aren't burstable. And with Heat Riser Magatsu Mandala Fatal Combos that aren't most of the time burstable, yeahhhh....

Alright guys, I plan to host my FIRST tournament ever, and I decided it to be a day 1 tournament. It is just one day before Summer Jam 8 and it's a global tournament. The tournament at hand will be Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Now, just to make sure I avoid getting no sign-ups if I open a sign-up thread randomly, I decided to make this thread. Now, I need to ask people, who would be interested in a tournament like this? Who would willingly play in possibly laggy matches? Who would willingly test out some of the new chars? Who would willingly test out the new net-code and the least lag inducing stage this game has to offer? The time I planned to run this tournament will be 4PM EST. That will be 9PM BST for European people. I hope the time is good enough for everyone, since I also need to be awake in order to run this tournament. (It's going to be 11PM for me when the tournament starts.) Please post your thoughts people. If there is enough interest, I will host this tournament at 28th August Thursday 4PM EST.

Oh yeah, that was me. It looked like Adachi was doing a simmilar pose before a Raging Lion, but it was a low quality screenshot, and I couldn't get a great look at it. That move is j.C by the way.
-
Adachi has like 3 "Stomp" moves 1-Gun Stomp (From DP: Dissapear!) 2-Magat Stomp (From 5C) 3-Sword Stomp (From SP Ghastly Wail) Generally, any move involving a downwards strike against a downed opponent will get the term "Curbstomp" from me. Some does it with their foot, some do it by any other means.
-
I meant it as a goal for Adachi. As in, you MUST get the Heat Riser Buff and the Fear in to start doing actual damage. Now, it seems that he has a totally different goal in gameplay, but he can still use the good ol Buff-Nerf tactic to win.

After I checked out PSC trailer today, I decided to (randomly) look up to the wiki, and to my surprise, I saw an edited Adachi page. I was curious on what I was gonna see, but turns out that it was a stupid sentence. So, I decided to remove the comment and edit the wiki page, but I felt it was empty with only a pictue, so I decided to add stuff. But then, it felt incomplete, so I added some attacks. And uhhh, well. We have an Adachi wiki page, with some uploaded pictures and nothing else. Feel free to contribute.
-
So, this happened when I was looking at the trailer once again: It's interesting to see that the hit on Ghastly Wail is a grab. Though.... we don't know if it's actually a grab or a grab on hit. If it's the former, it's really good, but if it's the latter, it won't make much difference.
-
So far, Evil Smile and Ghastly Wail. Megidola might aslo inflict Fear, but since they haven't showed us the full animation, I'm not sure.

Damn, good catch. I thought it was 2D, because it had an air version just like Ziodyne, but I guess it makes more sense to have Cross Slash as 2D. Fixed!
