  1. That's an interesting alternative to doing a safe jump. The fact that it requires different timing is probably the most useful part for me. This might lead to some interesting things for me with the right application of varying pressure. I'll have to experiment with it. Thanks Buttface!
  2. Hello. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Xrd May once you put some time into the game. Guess I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone getting the game tonight good luck. I won't be getting the game until NA release but I'll be around to bounce ideas off of, do general work on the wiki and provide emotional support...just not this weekend, because I'll be at NEC :P
  3. Excellent. I have no desire to play with you filthy PS3 peasants. Jokes aside, I'm curious why they even bothered to implement this and why just for ranked. I guess theoretically speaking, the PS4 networking hardware is more advanced so limiting your ranked search to PS4 players could theoretically end up with you getting matches with better connections, which would improve the legitness of the ranked matches. *shrugs* Guess we'll see. Also, it's nice that they give room makers the option to turn off the share functionality. I have no intention of ever using it or agree with why people want it but the thought is still nice. $200,000 WS doesn't sound too bad for me. I'll probably be able to buy him before the first week is done just by netplaying with May and Elphelt. But then again, I plan to netplay a lot the first week. Maybe less if my PS4 stick hasn't arrived yet ><
  4. Updated my roster listing eh, I should've probably mentioned Bullet, Orie and Yuzuriha in there but I still need a lot of training with them. Also, there's a good chance I'll be playing Elphelt too but I wouldn't list it. Also, what? no interests section for me to list that I enjoy long walks on the beach and holding hands? What kind of speed dating profile is this?!?!
  5. Like I said, there was never any general opinion that Celica was overpowered in the final version of the game. Only the loketest. I get the point you're trying to make. I'm just trying to say that Celica was never broken at the start of CP2's lifespan and it's a bad example to prove your point. CP 1.1 Kokonoe is a better example in my opinion. When 1.1 first came out, people still thought she was an undisputed god but then months went by and people started properly learning the matchup. Soon after, they started putting other characters like Valk up in her tier as well (Or maybe it's more accurate to say she came down to their tier). Who's talking about match videos? From what I've read in the last few pages, the only thing people have been talking about is JP player impressions and tier lists. There's also Errol's posts, though from what I understand, he's currently in Japan playing CP2? Well, it's as close to getting live impressions on the matter as they're going to get so I think it's worth them talking about. Also, maybe you should think more about why 80% of the time people are getting opened up for "Not blocking" instead of just claiming people are dumb, especially since I highly doubt this is the first time all these players are facing off against a Nu. Maybe, just maybe, there's more to CP2 Nu's pressure than you're giving credit for. I also understand the point you're trying to make but insulting the JP player base is DEFINITELY not the way to go about making your point. Treat people with a little more respect please.
  6. um, Celica was never broken. It was only people in this thread making a big fuss about her loketest damage, which got toned down in the final release. Not that her damage output was ever enough reason to consider her broken to begin with.
  7. Okusan (Sho) vs Domi (Akihiko) Okusan (Sho) Lobby/Rank matches - Mostly Okusan's Sho but there are a few matches without him Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  8. Well as Maso somewhat covered already, the key difference is that both Teddie's j.A and j.B have amazing downward hitboxes that makes both of them ideal for using as mixup. In Rise's case, her j.A is more horizontal and doesn't really have great downward reach. You'd have to be low to the ground to hit someone crouching with it. It works fine in scenarios like blocked 2C, Arrow Rain and scanned Risette Field mixup but not really in general use. Hard to talk about average damage output this early. People need more time than the loketests will give to rebuild their character's combo theory and start getting the more optimal stuff. Not sure about that last one. We need to see how far the notes travel forward as they're detonating and at what speed before we consider what sort of stuff we can get away with now.
  9. Gah, If I wasn't waiting for the NA release, I'd be 100% down for this, especially since you're running it similar to Skullbats. Good luck with the tourny.
  10. I kind of have mixed feelings on this topic. If we just look at the changes to Bullet herself, I believe Bullet has definitely gotten stronger. But on the other hand, the Bullet vs Nu matchup is definitely even shittier (Hard to imagine this was even possible until it happened) this time around and a lot more people are/are going to be playing Nu than 1.1 so we're more likely to run into this matchup. In my mind, it's hard to say if the strength gained in other matches really outweighs the difficulty spike we'll be getting if we run into a Nu in a tournament setting. *shrugs* eh, we'll see. TIme with the update will give me a clearer picture on Bullet's current situation.
  11. Seems like you got everything. Thanks for compiling it all into one place. Can't wait for January.
  12. A lot of nice Marie changes. Still LMAO at the 5C change. 236D being a long range 236C is neat. Was kind of hoping they'd buff rainy's HP buff just a touch but can't win them all I guess. Can't wait for January so we can get some solid footage of these new changes It's only announced for arcade release so far. No news on console release yet. We'll just have to be patient. If we're lucky, it'll only be a 2-3 month wait after Arcade release. If we're unlucky, 6 months...;.;
  13. He's trying Nu now. I don't even know what to say about 2.0 at this point. I'm still going to keep playing but a lot of my enthusiasm for the update is pretty dead.
  14. Making j.B a mid is an odd change. I hope ASW change their mind when they release the final version in January. Hmmmm, disappointing we didn't hear more about the new trajectory control of B Musical Note. Guess we'll just have to wait until P4AU2 release.
  15. I don't think you necessarily need to axe games (Except running both Smash 4 3DS and Smash 4 Wii U. FUCK. THAT. NOISE). Regardless of what you decide, I think you should consider focusing on improving how smoothly each of the individual tournaments run. There were a few times in most of the anime tournies where all or most of the tourny setups didn't have any matches running. People being busy playing other games was probably a part of this problem but I didn't really feel it was the entire problem. I can't really say for certain what were the other problems because I don't think I have the complete picture. Though, it did feel like the whole going back and forth between running it on paper and challonge was problematic. Also, it seemed like if the person running the bracket had to go play or do something, the bracket wouldn't get passed on to anyone else to run it like it did at the previous Ottawa tourny I attended. I could be wrong though. Also, to make sure games with DLC characters have the DLC available on the setups running the tourny, consider deciding and keeping track of who's going to provide the setups before the tournament. I don't think this was an issue for anything but Persona and even then, I think I'm the only one who was affected by it and it didn't really matter because I only wanted to play Marie on a whim to give her some tourny XP too. But there is a small chance that this could affect someone in the future so I thought I should bring it up anyway. Other than that though, I thought it was an awesome tournament and I was happy to make it out again for an Ottawa tournament. My only disappointment was accidentally not getting put into the UNIEL bracket. Combine that with the fact I didn't get to play any casuals because I was too busy dodging the mirror match against the Nanase army and I didn't get to play any UNIEL ;.; Oh well, these things happen. Thanks a lot for all your hard work Krackatoa and everyone from Ottawa for making this happen. I appreciate it. Be sure to let us know the next time you run one of these! Also, thanks for making the journey Waterloo! It was great to see you guys again. I'll look forward to seeing you guys again at CECC2 if it's still happening.
  16. Unfortunately, High Quality footage from Japan is hard to come by so finding one of May's win screen in particular would probably be difficult. You'd probably be better off waiting until the game releases next week and people here in NA start streaming/recording footage.

  18. Double posting for Love and Peace! Just thought I'd drop off the link to find the tweets about Rise Changes. Unfortunately, I can't make heads or tails of anything through google translate. Nothing to do but wait for translations I guess.
  19. Nice to see DFC managed to sneak its way into the schedule. Looking forward to tomorrow.
  20. O.O This might be it guys. This might be the iteration of the game that we manage to break out of bottom tier status...I'm scared. Someone hold me! Joking aside, this is all looking great. The only real concern now for me is to see how longer combos are looking from Red Axe now, in terms of damage and whether ASW has made any changes to Tsurugi and Houjuu.
  21. You might not know this if you're new to ASW games but for the most part, ASW changes their characters more to change the feel of playing the character than to necessarily buff or nerf characters specifically on how they performed in the previous iteration of the game. That's not to say that they don't actively try to improve characters that didn't perform well in the previous version or tone down character that did perform well, it's just more of a secondary priority in the process of their first priority. That said, these buffs are mostly buffs to make things useful instead of not really worth using most of the time. Musical notes weren't really worth using too much in neutral before because the space they controlled was limited and easy for the opponent to both intentionally and unintentionally avoid. Being able to better fine tune their trajectory (And hopefully, their end positioning) and having the notes move forward while they're exploding will make them more useful. It's a similar story concerning the Tetrakarn and Makarakarn. Makarakarn wasn't really worth using against zoning because those same projectiles that you want to reflect could very easily snipe you out of the shield's long activation animation. Tetrakarn also has this problem as well, though to a lesser extent because of the characters you are more likely to use it with. Reducing their recovery time and giving the shields' activation projectile invuln put these specials in a place where they are more useful for their intended purpose.
  22. BB and GG Top 8 at the same time. The place might explode from hype. Also, my body is ready for Friday Night events.
  23. "Yukiko's A/SB Agi don't float the opponent anymore. SB Agi is now super fast and combos from 5B though." - Source
  24. Thanks for posting that RSquared. Not much I could tell through google translate. Praise for how long it takes to go down to yellow axe from red. SB Beast is less powerful but much faster? SB Beast seems to guarantee the axe level goes up by 1 but the C version doesn't. DP no longer comboable from CH for non charge version. Best to wait for proper translations to get a more thorough understanding.
  25. Just dropping by to let you guys know that the Xrd sticks are available for preorder on the Madcatz site now
