I have a good amount of experience in this match up so here are some tips. I'll probably do a full write up soon. As far as dandy step, you can GV this on reaction most of the time. If he gets tricky with FRC > 2H just stop doing it, but most of the time it will work. It is indeed hard to command throw if they are good at backdashing or hitting 2p. In this case it's best to go with some frame traps and be unpredictable in your mixup. Bait throws with 6P, do your normal tick throw setups but follow with a c.s or 2.d, or 6p to punish their reaction. 6HS can also catch them off guard when they back dash. As far as coming from the air, any obvious jump in will lose to Slayer. As you said, his 5p, 6p, and 2s beat pretty much everything Sol has. This match is about whoever lands the first big hit and keeping on the pressure if possible.

[Accent Core] Sol Badguy General Discussion

Which ones are you referring to? I didn't see anything new at all, just the usual frame traps. 5p, 2p, c.S setups are as old as Sol Badguy himself. -
Well I have quite a bit of experience with Jais, who is the best Buri in the US afaik. Once he learned to space Sol out really well this match up got really frustrating. Here's what I have to say: Matchup Statistics: I know it's in Buri's favor, I think 5.5/4.5 but not 100%. Openers: Yours - His (taken mostly from Jais's write up in buri matchups) 2D - loses to 2D f.S - loses to lots of things 5HS - same as above GV - can catch by surprise if you notice they don't jump at beginning. The risk reward isn't too bad because his abare sucks and overall damage is low. j.HS - j.p beats you j.p, backdash, block are decent options I suppose Okizeme: You may have a hard time due to delayed get up and starship, even though starship isn't very good it will put you back to neutral on trade which isn't good for you. You pretty much need a meaty gunflame to get any good pressure started. Punishes: A smart zoning Bridget won't give you many opportunities for punishes so you need to really capitalize on any hits / mistakes. If you see they whore starship a lot just wait and get a 2D ch to huge damage. Bridget is a good character to just j.SW over and over for big dmg. CH 2D , GF FRC, J. SW, j. SW, j.SW, j.SW is like 70-80% damage. Counters: Umm... VV / 2D stupid shit? Anti-Airing: Bridget probably won't be coming at you from the air without teddy lockdown high/lows and whatnot. But if he decides to anyway well.. I think we know how that goes for Sol. Zoning: Obviously you're not gonna outzone Bridget as Sol. Their Game Plan: Zone zone zone zone zone.... Strategy: Be patient and make the most out of every damage opportunity. Try to get them afraid and hopefully get them to make mistakes. Lots of dash breaking and air FD'ing required. Like Robot said a while back, try to keep the health lead or things will get really frustrating really fast. Character Specifics: Buri obviously a lightweight "floater" so plan combos accordingly. Takes a good amount of damage so as I stated several times before make the most of what you get. I'll try to add lots more as I think of it I guess.

Romanization/Translation Thread (for videos/BGM, etc.)

Thats pretty obviously a joke video. :P Also these posts probably shouldn't be here try asking the video help thread. -
How is Sol an OTG friendly character... Only time I ever otg is on robo-ky or if its going to kill or certain other specific cases, but I thought not doing it on ABA in moroha mode was just common sense...

George and Prucha also play pad and I don't think they allow that at SBO. :P

Raekwon does. 2HS FRC too! POT BUSTAHHHHHHHH Anyways, I don't think the match is that bad, it just takes experience to know how to stay safe from Pot Buster. Plus you can do some lulz combos on him. The FRC point is pretty early too, so it's only really a mindgame thing for pot buster. Saying just VV doesn't really work as the 6HS is really meaty. So unless you're a reversal god, I'd stick with IB'ing it.

Raekwon owned my shit for free HALP.

How do you make sure the PKS comes out as Wild Throw? Do you hit K first then quick roll to others or something? -

Umm... I assume you mean when he does. 2p 2k GF FRC > Wild Throw? This is actually a pretty old trick that requires some timing. You do 2P, 2K, Gunflame FRC and before the flame puts them in block stun you Wild Throw. He also does it with 2P 2P, but like Cadenza said you just do it in between the block stun of the moves. -
Did anybody upload the ones of Kusoru vs. some Faust player? Hideki linked the filebank ones in match vids thread. Hilarious stuff in there as well. Taught me GV goes under Faust's poison vial.

Kusoru is the man. Grand Viper RC > Riot Stomp, must add this to my repertoire.

Or if their reaction time isn't total crap they will anti air or air throw you. :8/: -
Heh still... He would be jumping then you do bandit bringer and he would FD... Free j.k for Eddie on BR or BB.
-
If you get just the right distance from the corner you can do this. I did 5 in a match against slayer then BR knockdown on beat once.
-
Needs more GRANDVIPER. Good stuff anyway. The end of match with Nerina made me lol when he alpha countered after first hit of VV and then got hit with second on the way up. First round with Eddie looked frustrating, seeing as how you should have had it. Smart IB'ing etc though. Though I could tell Hellmonkey wasn't that experienced with Eddie, BR so easy to beat at end of pressure.

It would be nice to sticky a thread that is JUST combos, seeing as the "Sol combo thread" is just a bunch of talk about theory and other jibba jabba. Mostly because lots of newbs show up and have no idea what's going on in that thread, it would be nice to point them to a definite list. So I recommend deleting non combo posts and sticky. I'll try to make a compilation of say, throw combos in corner vs. everybody and post it. Also, you may want to order them in terms of difficulty, ie beginner, intermediate, advanced. The first dust combo you posted is WAY over the heads of beginners. I'm not even sure I could do that myself with any hint of consistency. The standard dust combos without sidewinder are: 5D , j.D j.D , S K S K S dj. S HS VV (works anywhere on screen) or 5D, j.D j.D , S K S D, dj. S D VV. For more dmg near corner.

It works... Especially if its a dash VV, it can change where you're going to land pretty dramatically. You're probably going to get punished anyway, and as long as it's not somebody you really wanna avoid a CH from, I like to mix it up. -
:O Good stuff Kyle.

If I were the opponent I'd just let them do the full meter DI because by the time they can even hit you they've lost half their health.

Ryan Bill is sexy <3 Also sad I missed the Tenkai Gear shot that you use for the beginning of every Tenkai Gear video now.

Ah, by poking I thought he meant zoning. By all means throw out beefy attacks like crazy. It's best to get them scared as hell and turtle then wild throw. Just because 2k is fast doesn't really make it a legitimate strategy vs Anji.
