Oh man my stick execution is bad. I need to work on that...
-
Can't really practice confirming that much seeing as you KNOW when it's going to happen in training mode. I'm just saying there's a reason why it's not used more. Even a slight pause will cause it to mess up.
-
Yeah thats good and all, but I only do it when I KNOW it's gonna be a CH 2d. In order to do CH 2D > GV you have to input the GV right away which doesn't allow any hit confirming or FRC to block burst. If you're hitting GV ever time you 2D obviously you will be in trouble. Good example is after Slayer BBU's and you block you get free 2D CH.

Riot stomp was great when there was no 6p (with invul) and forward exebeast. A good testy will drop tree then back up so that you get hit by it before getting to him. Match can get really frustrating but it just takes patience like was said and pound him when you finally get in.

I have a couple from the last tourney I went to in Memphis. How to get frustrated vs a super defensive testament and drop your combos: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZSvxaY6Er9A How to be patient against Slayer and hit him with 5D LOL: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GQCL2zaJxtg They are mislabeled as Kyle W. but he's the May player. :P And the Slayer is MacArthur Blunts not Boss.... Who all is going to MWC Sol wise? I hope to but I'm a bit tight on money.
-
Yeah Mio does that boss combo in that video, mad style points. Typical IAD combo after WT is jut IAD j.S CLSW, which is actually quite burst safe. IAD j.D SW after WT works on Axl, Anji, Dizzy, Pot, Faust, and maybe a few others and gets you great damage and looks great. Plus IAD j.D pretty much anywhere in your combo vs. Pot and Faust is good damage and style points. There's also in corner IAD backwards CLSW which looks great. I'm making a vid soon and I hope to include lots of IAD hotness.

Playing against Eddie is about smart defense. Knowing just the right moment to VV. Knowing when to FD, IB, etc. 1f jump and reversals are very important. Just learning to block is probably the most important thing about the matchup. His defense is pretty weak, but he has some good pokes and a fairly strong 6p. His j.k is godly so be careful of that.

If you're mid/close and she summons a fish that's free damage for you. She is in a CH state for like 52-56 frames on summoning a fish so no need to wild throw.
-
You do the jump so that you hit j.S on the way up and then just the last hit of j.HS hits and the opponent thinks for sure you're going to land. You have to time it so that you can air dash just after the recovery of the move. All in all that series of pressure is pretty escapable...
-
K, so don't be so predictable. :P VV RC doesn't have to be for a wild throw. I don't really use it in regular pressure, only as a safe wake-up option. It's 1000x better use of tension than wake-up Tyrant Rave.

Use lots of S in this match for zoning and poking. 2S, f.S are pretty good. Lot's of j.p and j.hs. If you see a bandit revolver or bandit bringer you can j.p that shit for free. Like Nive's said, learn your shoryu baits.

Gee what wonderful insight.

Holy crap. Just got done with a weekend hanging with some of the best out there. I also got in tons of play with THE PROFESSOR of Potemkin himself, the man with a Ph.D in all of Potemkin's moves, Raekwon187, aka Isaac. I will do a big write up some time soon. HOLY SHIT POT IS SCARY.
-
My advice for BR frc is that you're not doing it fast enough. Just hit it as fast as you can and you should have it frc.
-
Check the last 4 or so pages of the AC Sol match vids thread. Or search youtube for the "agressive sol with lulz" series, I recommend them all.
-
Best way to avoid May's 5D mix up is to learn to jump it on reaction. I don't find her oki that troubling, just avoiding those deadly CH's and you can do fine.
-
It's because he was on a few gamechariot vids and then disappeared for ever? Either that or took a different alias or something.

I agree with Isa being the pinnacle of AC Sol's thus far, the stuff right before he switched to Eddie is really amazing. Kusoru is fun to watch yes, but tourney results matter more in terms of over all effectiveness. As for my own play style, it's a lot like Kusoru's but with less BR frc. I try to do crazy stuff and it can surprise people. In terms of solid more orthodox Sol I would say Robot is the best I've seen so far, he really gets the job done in a smooth manner. The only way to know how a style works is to test it out. Sol is more of a freestyle character so just do whatever you feel like really. I used to try the textbook P.C sol but his methods aren't as effective in AC. This thread should probably just be merged with Japanese Sol players thread though.

Good shit guys, was really entertaining to watch. Looks like the euro scene pretty nice. :D -
Why does it seem so... slow? Is it from the emulator?
-
Yeah, Potemkin can be really fun to combo. IAD j.D SW combos are flashy and not all that hard on him. When you say the "original" version I assume you mean the original JP release? Because obviously there were many glitches in it and was far from arcade perfect... Don't know if it makes much sense to call the bugged version original, but w/e.

Nice. Haven't seen match vids of Elk in forever.

[Accent Core] Sol Badguy General Discussion
Brent-quest replied to Hatred Edge's topic in Sol Badguy
If your opponents eats WT after a block BR they are a total scrub. -
Heh well, that is what my friends and I call "sticking with the plan." The plan being the Daigo Sol Badguy mind game. VV or command throw. It works wonders. I'll probably do a full write up about it some day, seeing as it works in EVERY match up.
