Netplay gonna netplay. Infrastructure gonna infrastructure. All that jazz :v I actually like seeing delay. I play doujin PC stuff and like GGPO and finding out the delay and setting it and knowing a solid number to look for is good stuff. Xrd just flat tells you the number, which is miles better than the 1-4 bar system. Like this is the opposite of a problem, any reasonable person already knows how this works. Don't worry about it, really. You guys got a day, get hype. Yeah what I figured would happen after BB. We all knew it was particle effects when you could pick snow town and throw deadspike and frame drops happen.

That is good support though. If you wanna do more you can start more actively seeking out interested players, starting small local events (I've done stuff where it went from 5 entrants a month to now getting enough to have proper brackets), learning more in depth about the game and creating resources and sharing those resources. Like you know how many people try to learn ASW games then quit because our learning resources are on average pretty lacking? Communicating these things not only accurately but in a way that's manageable and interesting is really hard, but ya know it pays off. Big thing is people tend to follow the attitudes they see, and if a whole bunch of people are being negative they might adopt that attitude too or just say "oh that sucks, why bother?" I'm just tired of seeing it keep happening, we get negative feelings and all that but you can put those in other places and be more productive and positive where it needs to be

Where I live you know how many people play Persona? Fucking zero. So you know what I do? I do netplay because I need to. I help run/commentate netplay events. I travel to other tournaments, some just a few hours, some where I need to drive all day or take a plane. I contribute in the most positive way I can while furthering myself as a player. And you know what? It's fucking hard. I'm not always happy with it, I often times want to give up. But you know, I stick with it. Now I help with these forums, I help contribute to strong video projects, and I network myself through the scene. I run local tournaments and now I'm helping run a major in January that believes in our scene and has given us money. And if you're in a position where you can't do that, you can't work hard, you don't have the means, that's completely understandable. Sometimes life just doesn't work that way. But I promise you there are better things you can do for yourself as a player or this community then come onto here and bitch and talk about how dead and terrible everything is going to be and predict doom. Yeah, there are down times (like right now I won't lie or sugarcoat shit), but if you want to make something more of it you just suck it up and deal with it and work hard until the good times come again. And if YOU think something gets to a point where it's not worth it, you can walk away, but don't downplay the hard work others do. Also yeah a game has to be appealing, no shit. But games appeal to a lot of people in a lot of different ways. If you find any amount of people who like the game you play and you can make anything of it that's good enough for me. Again, if it's not good enough for you you can just fucking quit.

I'm so tired of "BB is dying" or "2.0 is terrible, it killed BB." Really, really a game dies when its playerbase aka YOU GUYS decide to stop playing it and pushing it. If you like a game or series, you support it best you can until you just can't anymore. You wanna avoid "the anime cycle"? Play your game, pump up your game, do what you can for events. Going on a forum and speaking of doom is just self fulfilling prophecies and helps solve nothing. And if a new version comes out that you personally don't like? You can stop playing it. A new version comes out that other people don't like but you wanna play? Well it doesn't matter, you can play it, and you can find like minded people or create and build the community for that yourselves. So seriously, stop with this "oh god it's dying and new version is going to be dead" bullshit. If you like something play it, support it, build on it. You don't like it? Then fucking quit yourself and let the other people who do like it build up what they can. Point is you want a community, you want a living game, then shut up and play it and build positive support up. Don't create your own pessimistic future.

Hmm you right, I was just reposting from a normally super reliable person, but mistakes may have happened. Site does say that though, oh well. I can be wrong sometimes. Edit: I see where the 12/3 date comes form. If you try to mess with the game on the JP PSN store (I'm assuming from NA) the dates "preload 12/2, play 12/3" come up. Could have something to do with that going off the console's localized date, or something changed/is different. Now that I know the whole thing (should've looked into it more) I guess all we can do is wait and see which is the case, we'll know in like a day anyways. I lean on the side of localized date error but eh I have no idea.

According to Zidane via Fubarduck the game will be playable on 12/2 at 5PM EST. Edit: by "available" I mean able to play by those who have it downloaded. I'm unsure of the actual time for non-preorders to download the game.

Whatever this line of conversation is right now it's not going places. Every time a new version comes out shake ups happen, you guys are jumping to made conclusions, relax some and stop worrying.

I'm a bit late but ASW games have a tendency to have slowdown from certain stages and effects, it's so bad on BBCP (even in arcade) that certain stages just don't get used ever. RIP Snow Town. Somebody probably noticed this happening with Xrd so they made a toggle to turn down certain effects to avoid frame drops. I wouldn't worry too much about it, hell they're telling people there's a toggle to ensure 60FPS up front.

And I have risen from the dead (aka finished myu major projects and papers for school) so I can bother with this thread again.
