  1. Ouch that doesn't sound good. And what do you mean "see you guys in two weeks"? We won't have a spot next week. And have a safe flight shtkn. Be sure you play lots of P4A.
  2. Yosuke's theme is released this time? Ugh, waiting for the themes I want to hear is not healthy for me.
  3. So who here can make it on Friday? As for me, I most likely can't since I'm going to hang out with a few friends on Friday but nothing is really set in stone, but I'm not making any promises. TL;DR: It's a maybe for me.
  4. So Yukiko's BGM was just released. God, as a huge music buff, the wait for Mitsuru's and Naoto's theme to be ripped and released is so excruciating. You'd think that the people who first started with Yu's theme would straight up rip the rest of the themes.
  5. Hmmm, I personally think it's more than that. The way you handle my Noel (oh God I'm laughing as I typed this) gives a sense that you have more matchup experience with Noel out of all of us here. And everytime you knock me down, you also have an answer for what I do. For example, backdash > get 2D'd. When I play with the others, I feel that we're even for the most part, as long as I stick with what I know, plus being smart at the same time, I can pull some wins, but with you, it feels like I have to step out my comfort zone in regards to how I play, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I mean, you have me using Optic Barrel and jump ins more. But the fact that it takes me a LONG time to "warm up" to your Jin just to win just once out of 549797846 times is something I need to work on. Anyway if you're leaving next Saturday, then you can come again this Friday then? Oh and if I do come to this Friday's meetup, I'll be taking a picture of the front side of Frubble. Assuming Frubble will be our permanent meetup place for a long time, you wouldn't mind editing the first post with Frubble's information and picture? If it's cool with you and everybody here thinks it's a good idea. Also glod, I noticed how you didn't use Tager's air elbow last meetup. Just curious, but is that his best jump attack in regards to how it can land Tager good combos and/or put him in an advantageous position? I noticed in our first meetup at Frubble, you would use that move so many times to the point where I was just waiting for it so I can punish it for a free combo. Anyway it's good that you're changing the way you play now.
  6. Bleh, more Arakunes. Oh well, need to learn that anyway, as well as Lambdas...... and shtkn's Jin.
  7. Me picking up Mu as an actual secondary?
  8. Thanks for the correction shtkn. Btw, what day are you flying to Japan and how long are you staying there?
  9. What is this Taijima? I know a Japanese restaurant called Tajima in San Diego though.
  10. As usual, posting here to let everybody know I got home safe and sound around 10 minutes ago. It was cool meeting Buddy and having a feel for his and Watermelonz's Hazama, I now have a better idea how he works. And it was nice to see that the new tricks I learned from Lunakage has had some success. I'm also proud of glod getting used to the Noel matchup, just needs to learn how to 360 overheads and pseudo Drive blockstrings on reaction, as well as block low like 90% of the time. And shoutouts to the shtkn/haki vs Ichi matchup still being like 9-1. When I play against the others, I feel that we're even for the most part, but these two, man, playing against these two sometimes make me feel that my growth as a player has stopped lol. Maybe this is something that gets better with even more practice and experience... or I should just drop BB and play P4A and hope to be better than them in that game, j/k though. But anyway, I'm really glad that we had the largest local gathering tonight and I'm looking forward to more in the future.
  11. Wow I didn't know there was a Generations topic on DL. Have any of you guys checked/tested out sidestep combos? They're really worth checking out since you can chain a few things for no meter if your execution is on point.
  12. Okay, so assuming we're gonna try to have 4 PS3 setups (with a monitor, console and game) and have Watermelonz have his stick dual modded, then we have a total of two full setups if we include yours and Wallace. shtkn can at least bring his PS3 and copy of the game, and as for me, I can only bring my copy as well. That means that we just need two monitors and one console from Frubble. However, if shtkn wants to go through the trouble of bringing his monitor with his desktop monitor's base, then we'll only need one monitor and a PS3 from Frubble. But of course, that's assuming Watermelonz wants to shell out $30 to have his stick dual modded and we're really trying to have all our setups be PS3 only.
  13. LOL, what an original user name. "Buddy." Surprised no one took it in Dustloop's early years, but anyway welcome! So I guess this makes 8 people now. Looks like I'm bringing my PS3 copy of the game too, glod does that mean you will as well? Aside from shtkn and Wallace, it looks like we'll need 4 setups, assuming we don't want anybody waiting their turn to play. Again I can't bring my PS3 though.
  14. This. In this situation, it's better to bring something and only realize you didn't need to in the first place, than needing something you didn't bring.
  15. That's the thing. I'm assuming that Box Arena is going to Frubble again and take the setups before us, so us having our own setups to bring at Frubble as a sort of "back up" plan would be nice. Just my two cents.
  16. Yeah that would be great. All we need is glod's converter. What I'm imagining in my head right now is that assuming you and Roa show up, we'll have 7 people and 3 set ups. We'll just leave glod's converter connected to your 360 for the duration of the meetup. If shtkn, Wallace, haki, glod, or Roa want to switch over to you, it'll be no problem since the converter can read their sticks... plus PS3 pads (in Roa's case) if I'm not mistaken. For some reason glod's converter doesn't like my Chun Li PS3 TE Stick so I guess me and glod can just switch sticks for whenever I play with you, which is no problem for me since I've used his stick before. I don't know about glod though lol. But the thing with my plan is that you're basically going to stay with your 360 setup at all times. If anybody has a better setup plan than mine though, go for it.
  17. Eeeh, don't feel like ordering online. But it's cool that we're covered on the whole set up thing.
  18. Oh okay that's cool. I'd still would like to find a nice place where I can get a decent HD monitor though.
  19. So if Roa and Watermelonz make it out this Friday's meetup, it would be nice if we had another set up (Monitor, console and game, the whole 9 yards). I know Roa does but he comes late, so I'm contemplating whether I should invest in a good monitor myself (Since I'd like to play my PS3 in my own room anyway sometimes), though I can't bring my PS3 since my little brother plays on Friday nights sometimes.
  20. Nah, it's okay. The fact that you were willing to let me borrow the game and your 360 is enough, I'm actually moved lol. And your 360 can play S;G? Does that mean your 360 is modified in anyway?
  21. Haha, well I wouldn't know about that. Shame I never had the chance of playing SnR since it's 360. Guess schmup developers want to be hipster by only catering to the niche 360 crowd. And shtkn, you'll obviously be checking out P4A when you get to Japan and telling us how it is right?
  22. So I guess that means we'll have the same meet up day with Box Arena again? And I don't really mind if none of them are interested in playing BB/GG/etc. just as long as nobody is being a dick when a non Capcom game is being played in the same room. If boundaries are respected, then I think it'll be cool, of course, that's not going to stop me from being curious and crossing the line (pun blatently intended) and checking how their games are going, SFxT looks like a pretty game.
  23. Defense is ALWAYS a given for me lol. As for pressure, you're right. Did some thinking about my pressure last night and it was VERY linear. My problem was that I kept trying to condition you guys to block low more than it was necessary to and could've gotten away with more stuff. And also I never attempted jump in pressure once, perhaps it's because I'm still miffed by Noel's 5C not being JCable on block since CT and I'm still not used to JCing 5B, but that's just one of the things on my list to work on. As for stuff you need to improve on? Well you certainly didn't fall for Noel's command grab as much last night, but maybe it's because I didn't use it as much. But anyway, I remember you saying that the start up animation where she flips makes you think it's an overhead, well, remember what I said on my previous post where you just need to block low most of the time and consider the risks between Noel's 6B overhead, and her command grab. The way I play is that I use 6B a few times in succession to train you guys to block high, and then the next time I have you in pressure, I go for the command grab. However, at the end of the day, I will use 6B more than the grab, because despite it's -4 frame disadvantage on block, it's still a safer option than whiffing her command grab for a free CH combo. And for Lambda, when you use that attack where she summons upward swords from the ground after pressure, I'm assuming I can punish that?
  24. Thought about my matches last night and I thought it was odd how I didn't use anti-air as much as I would in our previous meetups. Also have to pay attention to my opponent's meter so that I'm extra aware of wakeup shenanigans or random Yukikazes in my holes. Same goes with hitconfirming. And sorry if I sound out of line or if it looks like I'm making people look bad but I noticed when I played against glod and Wallace, you guys would occasionally fall for the 5C > 3C > combo, which is rare for any Noel player. Remember to just block low most of the time because all she has is her overhead, which is pretty easy to react to once you get used to it. Once you have that in check, you don't press buttons during her blockstrings while at time same time watching out for her grab when she staggers with 5A, 2A, 2B, or 2C, she basically has nothing. Also, if you get caught blocking a blockstring in this sequence "anything > 5C," be prepared to guess as Noel may go for the overhead, command grab, or the riskier 3C. However, you should also take the distance between you and Noel in consideration, if her blockstring or your Barrier block pushes you/her far away, you won't have to worry about the overhead since it obviously won't reach that far, so Noel can either stop there, or go for way more riskier and unorthodox options such as her command grab or 3C. On the topic of blockstrings, sometime this weekend or next week before the next meetup, I need to familiarize myself more with Jin and Lambda, more so with Lambda, as well as trying to make my blockstrings way less linear. Oh and some pointers from haki for fighting against Lambda would be nice too, and sorry for almost crushing you hand again.
  25. Just posting here to let you guys know that I made it back home safe and sound about 20 minutes ago. Frubble is definitely a chill place to have our gatherings.
