San Diego's thread of meetups every Friday Night at SD Saltmines
Ichipoo replied to shtkn's topic in West Coast
I remember reading here that someone made physical copies of the fliers, unless I'm mistaken. If I'm not, then would you mind giving me some at Frubble, I'd like to hand some of them out to my local Gamestops since I know some of the people who work there. -

I got Skullgirls as well, but can't make it out tonight since I have a Computer Engineering papework to finish by tomorrow. Most likely Friday though. -

"Don't worry about your skill level" eh? Then I think I can try to bring in two guys, one at the very least. -

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, the knob on one of my showers broke and so it had water gushing out so I was forced to shut off my water source, call my uncle to help me carve a hole in a wall to replace the pipes leading to the shower. Also had to spend $250 worth of parts which included new shower head. Maybe next time. Glad you guys were still able to play despite being double booked. Also, I'll see if I can get more people to join us as well. -

I think it would be better if you change it to "We cater to people who play a diverse range of fighting games" or something of the sort. The former sounds a bit exclusive and I'm not all for that. Just my two cents though, but yeah, I too think shtkn should take a look at this before we actually implement any of this. Other than that good job Roa. /comesoutoflurking -
Hmm, if we're lucky the game's battle system might be more polished than Naruto Generations. Ever since CC2 started listening to fan feedback via Facebook and Twitter before Generation's release back in October/November, they've taken a lot of things into consideration and the end result was a game more balanced than the awful shitfest that was NUNS2. Sure Generations still has their own share of problems but some of us are willing to bring it up to them and give them suggestions, maybe they can implement it in this game since it uses the Storm engine. ie: Being able to airgrab jump blocking opponents.

Duuuuude, hold a meetup with your friends near your place, I'm down for some "near the border" casuals too, which I'm ecstatic about since I don't have to drive as far since I live in the Otay Ranch area. Plus I'm on Spring Break too. -
This...... this so much. Going by that logic, I'd like to have FeMC in as well. <3 Also, I know that most, if not all of us have beaten P3 and P4 but IMO, we should be courteous not to post spoilers so casually, or at least put a spoiler mark, there's probably some of us here lurking that haven't played or beaten one of those games and they're interested in playing the RPGs at a later time. Just my two cents.

Speaking of SC players, there's a handful of them in SD, the problem is that the way they schedule gatherings is random and that there's not much organization. It's basically just "Hmm, I feel like playing some SC casuals, Imma post in the SD thread on 8wayrun and hope someone replies." But anyway I'm down for a group like that, but I too play Capcom games sometimes. -

So anybody here got the game? -
Nice to hear you're playing the game already. What arcade did you play it in? Anyway what I'm curious about is how do you feel about the game not having "auto correct" and being required to Air Turn when your back is turned to the enemy? Is it something this game benefits from, needs, or it virtually has no real effect whatsoever and it's just something we have to deal with when we play? And can you play Naoto for me please sometime later?

That sounds great actually. Once GGXXAC+ and Persona 4 Arena hits, I'd like to get more people exposed to it. And for a while, I contemplated going to CO and talking to the owner since I've met him a few times asking if we can have Fridays as our regular meetup but then Wallace says that it's usually Mondays, which I can't make to unfortunately, is there a reason why though? Just curious. Anyway, guess I'll take a break from Naruto Generations and Tales of Graces f to go "thaw" out my Noel muscle memory, haven't been playing for a while, and I guess I'll go pick up Mu as well. -

Ouch that doesn't sound good. And what do you mean "see you guys in two weeks"? We won't have a spot next week. And have a safe flight shtkn. Be sure you play lots of P4A. -

So who here can make it on Friday? As for me, I most likely can't since I'm going to hang out with a few friends on Friday but nothing is really set in stone, but I'm not making any promises. TL;DR: It's a maybe for me. -

Hmmm, I personally think it's more than that. The way you handle my Noel (oh God I'm laughing as I typed this) gives a sense that you have more matchup experience with Noel out of all of us here. And everytime you knock me down, you also have an answer for what I do. For example, backdash > get 2D'd. When I play with the others, I feel that we're even for the most part, as long as I stick with what I know, plus being smart at the same time, I can pull some wins, but with you, it feels like I have to step out my comfort zone in regards to how I play, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I mean, you have me using Optic Barrel and jump ins more. But the fact that it takes me a LONG time to "warm up" to your Jin just to win just once out of 549797846 times is something I need to work on. Anyway if you're leaving next Saturday, then you can come again this Friday then? Oh and if I do come to this Friday's meetup, I'll be taking a picture of the front side of Frubble. Assuming Frubble will be our permanent meetup place for a long time, you wouldn't mind editing the first post with Frubble's information and picture? If it's cool with you and everybody here thinks it's a good idea. Also glod, I noticed how you didn't use Tager's air elbow last meetup. Just curious, but is that his best jump attack in regards to how it can land Tager good combos and/or put him in an advantageous position? I noticed in our first meetup at Frubble, you would use that move so many times to the point where I was just waiting for it so I can punish it for a free combo. Anyway it's good that you're changing the way you play now. -

Bleh, more Arakunes. Oh well, need to learn that anyway, as well as Lambdas...... and shtkn's Jin.
