  1. When you have an opponent you regularly play who spams a certain move, learn how to punish and beat the crap out of him REAL hard when he does it. That will make him reconsider next time, he won't spam it. Then you'll be able to use the strats you mentioned. In your case, you can small jump JO's 2H and VE's 2D then punish (CH j.HS I think but you are the OS players, not me so I might be wrong) or feinting so that they whiff then CH Fafnir for huge combo !
  2. Free, there are some differences in damage, level etc but the most important thing is the Force Break Shitsu (red butterfly) is an overhead, allowing Anji to set up unblockables. The normal version is not. Note that the overhead part is only for the falling butterfly (after it touches, whether on hit or blocked), not the part when it flies horizontally. Normal Shitsu : horizontal part : block any (1 hit) falling butterfly : block any (2 hits) FB Shitsu : horizontal part : block any (1 hit) falling butterfly : block high or in the air (2 hits) For further informations, you can check Anji's frame data : http://www.dustloop.com/data/ac/anji.html
  3. Hey pirate mates (though not the same character), Too bad for your job. Well, keep trying, you'll eventually succeed ! You sure FT is not the same person as Efute ? I read somewhere else and a long time ago that first it was : N-Otoko (Venom) Dogura (Robo Ky) Efute (Ky) Then it became : N-O (N男) (VE) / Dogura (RO) / FT (MA) So I assumed it was the same person. And both has different writings but are pronounced almost the same, too much to be a coincidence but I may be wrong nonetheless.
  4. Hey, hi RC2 ! Nope, I'm still Johnny only player but I like to know the options my opponents have, kinda some GG-overall knowledge to have in order to survive. Here understanding what the hell happens when i fight the drug addict ninja ! Specially after having fought ATG (German) and Joe Higashi (French), two very good Chipp. With ATG, I had a taste of what he described in his numerous and detailed posts here for instance as okizeme with 2369P as a crossup, FDC, SBC etc., very nice. And in this case, when one asks a question I can answer easily, why not doing it. Anyway guys, keep up the good work, the Chipp forum is nice to read, no ego clash and such, nice discussion going on between members, interesting stuff.
  5. Alex, bring back your sorry ass here and show it to us yourself ! Can't wait to see Beowulf beating the crap out of us with those.
  6. Ansem, it may be a good idea to browse through the > GGXXAC Players Guide (click here) < and especially read the > Terms & Definitions page (click here) < You will find answers to many of questions you might ask or even better inform you about things you were not aware of.
  7. On a side note, there is a topic here on DL gathering all that kind of informations thanks to RedBeard. For instance, part 2.08), OTG recoin : > Johnny AC Gameplay specifics < Though, it may be subject to changes or you can prefer different setups or re-coin. Indeed, recoin also depends on the 1-hit setup that's why when training, it is good to do both at the same time, you'll know for sure the recoin works with the 1-hit. Sometimes for a certain char, you have to re-coin a different way according to the 1-hit setup though some others may have a general re-coin gatling, no matter the setup.
  8. Excelence, it seems you are counter-hit by Johnny's 2H when you dash under his coin. As a JO player, I can try to give you pointers, good or bad, you tell us then if that works for you or not. Try dash breaking (dash then FD) because if he doesn't RC it, he will be in real pain as it has a lot of recovery on whiff/block. Even if he cancels it into 5D (2H only has a gatling into 5D), you can punish him, for instance CH Fafnir > combo > outch ! It might be distance specific and might requires a timing (depends on when and where you start dashing when he throws the coin before you FD) as FD will push you back more but there is definitely an opportunity to CH. Or you can try dash > 2D as it will make you slide under the coin and forward during the sweep (dash velocity), allowing you to avoid the coin and hit farther. Don't time it late as the 2H will stuff you in this case. Your best best is also to block the coin, he has a limited supply, let him waste them !
  9. Quick note, blocking in the air resets jump options, whether normal block, IB or SB. Don't remember for FD though. For the sake of curiosity more than real practical use, can anyone with access to his PS2 check ? It is more obvious for IB and SB since the blockstun is shortened, you often can use the jump option before landing. Indeed, you have to wait for your blockstun to be over in order to JC/AD again. Try normal blocking a hit high in the air, you'll see you'll be able to JC before landing. That happens less often than an IB but that could still save the day, good to know.
  10. Chill out guys. When people don't understand each other, it is best to ask for a rephrasing than jumping to conclusion and get irritated, hateful and such. Let's not forget Johnny players are gentlemen. A3Religion, in your case (being close to your opponent), if your back j.K does not touch Zappa when he goes behind you, you wait a tidbit so that JO turns and face ZA then jump and hit with the j.K FACING, not as a cross-up. EDIT : nah, no need to walk forward, that was for the "walk forward then c.S > aircombo" part, I mixed things up. Or you can try to use another gatling to place yourself in a better spot so that your combo connects, that may be what Camo wanted to say. With proper spacing and timing though you can connect on Zappa either a j.K then continue the combo or c.S then aircombo.
  11. Rtl42, if you are talking about an article from the "Break Encyclopedia" Mook, it indeed was already mentioned somewhere in Dustloop but in the meantime Skati, here it is : If not, I'd gladly have a look at it too.
  12. His Respect can be used to feint a 6HS. Both has an animation where Faust more or stands up (in an awkward way for 6HS since he turns around). In the heat of the game, one can mistake one for another, making it a mix-up. - 6HS (overhead) or - Respect canceled by a low
  13. A properly spaced and timed j.S will beat a Heavenly PB. Try hitting pre-emptively with the farthest end of the j.S If you have a burst ready and the opponent is not paying attention, if you are in the air and NOT attacking, you have a guaranteed gold burst should he want to HPB. If you can confirm j.S into a JC, you can do the same with an Ensenga instead of the double jump. That's not hard, you'll get it with practice, you'll learn to feel/recognize when it hits whatever the cues (hitstop, sound, recognizing sprites, plain feeling etc., you'll get the hang of it). Though I prefer doing ensenga on reaction, it may help you to buffer and time the 41236 motion so that when you hit-confirm, you just have to press the HS button.
  14. DJ Xero > Taunting/Respecting on arcade cabinets is performed by pressing the Start (or forward + Start for Respect) button during a match. Thanks to that, you can perform epic "Goodu da ze" even on arcade. Now this is magic.
  15. Blocking in the air restores air options, not only IB'ing. After a normal block you'll sometimes land before the recovery ends (still in blockstun) therefore not being able to use those air options you just got back. That's the reason why many people think it only applies to IB. If you didn't used those air options before the block, you won't get additional ones after as it only resets the count, it does not cumulate. Yup, Slashback (SB) is a kind of parry "a la Third Strike" and is performed by 4+S+HS or you can also hold back (or down back) and tap the S+HS buttons. Though you can't hold S+HS and tap back afterward, that won't perform SB. Little off-topic : Kekken, did you check your PM box ? A love letter is waiting for you there.
  16. Guys, sorry to sound rude but please keep it GG and specially Johnny related. Occasional off topic is fine as long as it does not last too long. Yup, same here, I do like the "wave dash" name and call it that way. Ut seems though that Japanese players refer to it as "Mach Dash", "Mash Dash" or something like that. Xeno, if Johnny "lags for like, a handful of frames between the first and second dash", it is more than likely your wavedash timing is sloppy but being able to do it on pad is goodo da ze.
  17. DBT stands for Divine Blade Transport, the ground special move where Johnny leaps forward 623S. Do not mistake it for DB, the pillar of flame part. DB can be done in two different ways : either as a follow-up of DBT (input S during DBT) or plain DB midair version (in the air : 236S). To avoid confusion, DB as a follow-up is often noted as DBT~DB If you have further questions concerning notations and such, I suggest you read the -> "Forum Rules/Johnny FAQ, read here before posting!" topic <- Happy reading and exploring the depths of Johnny's gameplay.
  18. Whore Order Sol's 2D, that move is a real pain in the ass and allows you to play your wakeup game afterwards (JO has no wakeup move except his OD). It even wins over Johnny's 5H with proper timing and distance. Well, maybe not whoring or else you'll get predictable but definitely use this move a lot. I think you can even 2D > CC > combo but that may need to be a CH 2D.
  19. Yup, yup and yup ! Official announcement containing further details here on Dustloop : http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4602 Sorry for "post-jacking" your topic ElvenShadow. We may meet in Japan this summer, till then, you guys keep rocking. Epic and Reaver, could you please forward the announcement to your country's fighting community ? Thanks in advance. "Hype me I'm too famous !"
  20. Kinda like facing Potemkin's j.D, I'd suggest either using preemptive j.D/preemptive airthrow or jump, IB then airthrow or land and punish if you are too late. Don't try to punish it on reaction by attacking, meaning if her j.2HS is already out and above you (why would a May player do j.2HS elsewhere than above you ?), you will get stuffed if you try to hit her yourself. In this case, the jump > IB part is better. Random note, May can use it as a cross-up tool.
  21. My bad then, sorry for that. It seems I had the wrong definition of mixup, thinking it meant high-low game only.
  22. Hi Kirah ! Random pointers : #1 - Before landing during the IAD part, you can try to end with a j.K or a j.S to put them in more blockstun therefore being able to link (either blocked or on hit) a 5P or 5K without being thrown or hit by fast moves (VV or OD). Depending on the char and your height/timing, j.S may whiff. - If you land close enough to them, instead of "land > 5P > 66 > grab", you can also do : "land > 5P > walk forward a little > grab". - 2P is not a low, you can't use that for mixup purposes.
  23. Too FAMOUS ! Jag vill ligga med dig ! Nothing more to add, this sums it all. Well maybe yes there is. That was the best event I had the pleasure to go, really cool people, nice and welcoming, high level competition, the place was nice with a fridge, micro-wave and stuff allowing us to eat some weird stuff in front of the amazed eyes of our Northerner bros. And definitely a lot of HYPE. I second your last comment Nehle, it is a shame I didn't get to play against everyone in casual play too, including Lazze, Xzi, you and many others. Too bad we had to backdash cancel early Sunday and end this lovely trip to Sweden in order to go back to our everyday life (boo, working is unhealthy). French kisses to all !
  24. Zakuta > Blatant ! Yup, Ryanair for most of us it seems. Skavsta airport will be crowded with GG people ! Are you interested in coming, RageBot ?
