Ah well. Another time, then. Eighty bucks is a bit much for nothing but lab time and arcade mode (this game doesn't have netplay, last I heard). And I still would feel bad about downloading it (damn morals! always getting in my way!). I'll just derp out with it when someone else brings a computer with it. I haven't played that much, though. Does the stick register as buttons, as X/Y axis inputs, or as a "POV switch" input? I believe 2dFM2nd games only look for X/Y axis inputs for directionals. (You can check what it registers as by going into the controller properties - there's a window somewhere in there that shows what inputs are being triggered) I don't know specifically about the HRAP VX, but my HRAP3 has a small switch that changes what the stick registers as (Dpad, left stick, or right stick). For games like this I have it set to the "left stick" option and it works fine. If your stick has something along those lines, try switching what the stick registers as and see if that works. Unfortunately, if that's not the case the only thing I could recommend is using a controller input remapper (such as Joy2Key) to remap your stick's inputs to something the game can use; downside to such an approach is that it can introduce extra input lag (how much depends on your system and the particular remapper program you're using).

A quick search on Amazon shows cards hitting the 1-grand price mark, if you sort by price high->low. In all seriousness, though, I don't really have any use for a capture card here (yet), so I don't really want to pick up one and end up with it just taking up (some) space in my (already somewhat disorganized) apartment. Perhaps next time casuals happen you can bring your stuff and record there? ... you know, this sort of thing is just asking for it.

Fuckin' amen to that. And I will say that from a technical standpoint, while there's still room (and, more importantly, time) for some improvements, what they've shown is already really friggin' impressive, honestly.

... is the game always running that slow for you? I watched part of the 1st vid, and it looks like it's running at like 2/3rds or 3/4ths 'normal' speed ... ... I'm starting to become convinced that you're actually a clone of me. Or something like that. In all seriousness, though - I saw you go midscreen combo into (I think it was) 6BC214D. You can get more damage by omitting the 6B and going into 236D into another groundstring, based on my experience. Only caveat is it has to be a grounded (standing/crouching) hit, but you can get just over 3K easily (plus carry most way across the stage): 2B5C6C236D 5B6AA5C6BC214C Also, I can't say much for how effective it is in real matches, but sometimes randomly throwing out 236A at neutral can catch the opponent off guard for a bit of bonus damage. Can keep them hesitant, as long as they're not in the air.

So, interesting little quirk I figured out last night: you don't need 2 stocks to S-Cancel into an EX move. Normally, S-Cancels cost 1 stock and EX moves cost another stock (duh). However, the game seems to have no qualms with letting you S-Cancel into an EX move if you have less than two stocks - it'll try to deduct the second stock of meter and you'll end up at zero, but the overall cost will just be whatever you had at the time On a related note, am I the only one who thinks meter gain is too slow in this game? I've been playing arcade and survival modes (I know, not a perfect indicator of 'real' gameplay, but still), and most rounds I barely hit 2 full stocks including the 1 from the start of the round.
