GG is full of shenanigans, and yet that game is good/great/amazing/awesome/every other positive superlative I can come up with. Bitch get the fuck away from my main! You also play Naoto? We shall have to do crazy Naoto mirror nonsense at some point. (Actually, if you play on PSN, there's a chance we already have. I've run into a couple Naoto players in ranked matches.) Also delayed mini-shoutouts to Kona/Mindgame/Tales for online P4A matches the past few days. Fun stuff.

Goddamn dude that sucks. Terribly sorry that happened to you. I hope you're doing okay at least. Yeah, I understand the drive can be quite a bit much. Unfortunately, like I was saying earlier, I don't think I'd be able to offer space for a bunch of people to stay. Even if you wanted to "sardine" on the floor in the living room, something tells me the apartment complex management wouldn't be too pleased with me doing that. If it were just a couple people it'd probably be fine, but a whole car-load or more would probably get on someone's nerves around here. At least I don't plan on hosting frequently, so if you decide to not come to any future casuals I hold you won't be missing a lot. (That said, perhaps us NH people should start holding casuals for the more local people on a semi-regular basis?) Dammit Why don't steal my gimmick! ... actually I'd be perfectly OK with that. Main reason I decided to do that was just to add a little extra fun to the day, and it'd be interesting to see what other games come up in such a thing. LPT should be the announcer in every fighting game ever. ... except Marvel. Fuck Marvel.

So, casuals were pretty crazy, as expected. Lots of fun and such. Shoutouts to everyone making the drive up here from CT/MA. Now you know what I go through every time Shoutouts to Furok for winning Twinkle Star Sprites, even if you lost to the 'secret bonus boss'. Shoutouts to Zoob for getting the first hit on Furok out of everyone, and to Matt for getting the first round on Furok (and for getting to winners/grand finals, respectively). Shoutouts to everyone else for playing TSS. It seems there were quite a few who enjoyed it. Shoutouts to capsuletoyco for bringing P4A, so everyone can give their best day-negative-three gameplay. Shoutouts to Crown having the best day-negative-three gameplay by spamming the fuck out of DP with Yu. Shoutouts to LPT for Melty ('cause nobody saw that one coming, right? ). And shoutouts to the weather for being pretty nice except for the goddamn mega-storm that happened right when we decided to go grab food. Relatedly, shoutouts to getting food at McD's only minutes before they lost power. Quite a fun time overall. I do think if/when I hold casuals again I'm going to try and keep it to a few less people, though - like I said before I think this was a bit over-capacity honestly. EDIT: Full TSS results, because I feel like posting them: 1st - Furok (bye, beat LPT, beat Outlaw Vinegar, beat Zoob, beat Matt) 2nd - Matt (beat Why, beat Katz, lost to Zoob, beat Seth, beat Outlaw Vinegar, beat Zoob, lost to Furok) 3rd - Zoob (beat Juan, beat Mindgame, beat Matt, lost to Furok, lost to Matt) 4th - Outlaw Vinegar (beat Seth, beat Crown, lost to Furok, beat Juan, lost to Matt) 5th - Seth (lost to Outlaw Vinegar, bye, beat Katz, beat Mindgame, lost to Matt) 5th - Juan (lost to Zoob, bye, beat LPT, beat Crown, lost to Outlaw Vinegar) 7th - Mindgame (bye, lost to Zoob, beat Schmee, lost to Seth) 7th - Crown (bye, lost to Outlaw Vinegar, beat Why, lost to Juan) 9th - Katz (beat Glitch, lost to Matt, lost to Seth) 9th - Schmee (lost to LPT, bye, lost to Mindgame) 9th - Why (lost to Matt, beat Glitch, lost to Crown) 9th - LPT (beat Schmee, lost to Furok, lost to Juan) 13th - Glitch (lost to Katz, lost to Why)

Dammit Nazgul, why do you torment us so?! Er, ahem *:cough cough*. That is most unfortunate. We were really looking forward to your presence. Haven't seen you in a proverbial forever! (Seriously, though - is your job really that demanding? That's crazy. There's only been a couple times where I've been asked to work extra hours, and it's only when things are really hitting the fan.)
-
I don't have a jacuzzi ... we've been over this already! Also, was able to get the TV going again, so hopefully it'll last through tomorrow without any issues. We shall see. And this is definitely the upper limit of what we can fit. I just re-counted and realized there are going to be way too many people - LPT convinced me to let capsuletoyco to come, but that's the upper limit. (I think next time I should plan ahead and actually come up with a maximum number of people beforehand. But then again, that'd require me to actually plan ahead and we all know how well I do that) Here's the final list of who (I know) is coming: MindMobil3 - Mindgame, LPT, Furok, Crown, DannySchmee WhyCar - Why, Glitch, Seth, Kona, Katz Nazcar - Nazgul, Genstov, Fatal Serenity Zoob's Amazing Space Moustache Tricycle - Zoob, Juan (LPT tells me the third person isn't coming) Outlaw Vinegar riding solo Capsuletoyco (you owe LPT for this one ) So, adding me and my brother that's gonna be nineteen people here ... this is going to be outright insane. (LPT - I know I said 20 on the phone, I think I was counting the 3rd person in Zoob's car that you say isn't coming now. Still, going to say this is the limit.) (Also, just a heads up - I only have about enough seats for people actually playing - for those waiting around it's gonna be just about standing room only.) If this information is different from what anyone knows, please let me know ASAP (call/text me, preferrably). We're definitely going to be hitting against the limit of what my apartment can contain. As-is, this is arguably a few above the 'reasonable' limit, but I think it can work and I don't want to mess up all the plans everyone already made. And I don't want to look biased by having to pick who gets left out first. ... who the hell am I kidding? I'd definitely kick out Glitch first. Anyways, hopefully everything runs smoothly tomorrow! Everyone better be ready for Twinkle Star Sprites, too (remember - free dinner is on the line!) Also, memo to self - never let LPT organize casuals at my place again. Apparently he's too good at bringing all the people. ... although, that then brings the question of why he never brings all the people to Why's ... maybe it's actually just because of how awesome I am?
-
So, wonder of wonders, my HDTV decides today is the day it wants to randomly crap out. Fucking hell. :blue: Casuals are still on, but we might be a setup short if I can't get the thing working again or just go buy another one. Oh. I'll send you a text then, since it sounds like you're coming this way (I think?) ... Well, almost everyone. Tales apparently has to make sandwiches for mall rats tomorrow. Now to go rearrange the entire apartment so I can actually fit the billions of people who will be here tomorrow.
-
Dang, even more? I thought Crown was getting a ride from Why, but maybe I misunderstood ... Okay, so that's like eighteen people now. As much as I hate to say it, I'm thinking we're close to the max of what my apartment can handle. This is crazy! (Does Zoob even know where I am? I never PM'd him directions ...) ... and that is why you fail. The correct way to do it is: whatever > neutral > super > RC > mixup. It's won me tournament matches, so it must be legit!
-
Not sure how bottled water of all things is considered "strange" ... I'll make a note to pick some up. I have here the following: Large LCD HDTV for computer/PS3/360 (never felt laggy to me - Rockband's autocalibrate says it's good too) CRT for PS2 Second, small CRT my brother has for whatever Smaller LCD TV (also my brother's) for whatever Extra computer monitor not hooked up to anything important at the moment I plan on using the HDTV for the TSS mini-tournament, but mainly just out of laziness since that's what my computer is already hooked up to. LPT is also bringing a CRT setup, as he indicated above. Is anyone else bringing setups? I'd really like to know in advance so I can make space accordingly. While I'm making lists, I've got the following ("relevant") games here: PS2 - GG, MBAA (not Current Code) PS3 - KoF 13, BBCS (not Extend), Skullgirls, MK9 (no DLC), Arcana Heart 3 360 - GG2 PC - lots of fun poverty (WanWan, E's Laf, etc) PS1 - Inuyasha Feel free to bring other stuff, of course. So, it's looking like more people are coming than I originally expected (not complaining!) ... looks like we've got: [*]MindMobil3: Mindgame, LPT, SCHMEEEEEEE, Furok, and Crown [*]WhyCar - Why, 1/2 people I don't know who they are yet, Kona?, and Tales/Katz [*]Nazcar - Nazgul, maybe Fatal Serenity and Genstov [*]Outlaw Vinegar (no news on other people coming with) So, I count like fifteen people total will be here. Good thing I'm not still in my old apartment - there wouldn't have been enough room!
-
OH SHI~! Hype just tripled! Nazgul is coming! ... er, ahem *cough cough*. Yes, I'm still in the same apartment building, across the hall from the previous apartment (where I previously had held casuals a couple years ago). If that's not enough, let me know and I'll PM you the details. Also, you still have my cell number, right?
-
Why/Mindgame - I sent you two a PM with directions. Anyone else who's driving should PM me for directions. As far as when you can show up, any time noon-ish or later should be fine. I'd like to take a bit of space here to spell out a few things to keep in mind while everyone's here. If you're coming, please take a moment to read through. (I don't want to be a pain in the ass with all sorts of rules, but there's a few things that I want to make sure everyone's on the same page on) Since I live in an apartment building, please keep the volume in check. It doesn't need to be library-quiet, but just try to not get too loud please. My brother's cat is here. She typically shies away from strangers so it shouldn't be an issue, but of course don't harass the cat. Related to the cat again, since the cat is strictly indoors, please do not open any doors or windows (which could inadvertently let the cat out). If need be I'll open up a screened window or two but hopefully with two air conditioners that won't be an issue. And a couple not-so-rule items to think about: First - the mini-tournament I mentioned before. I'm thinking of running Twinkle Star Sprites, versus mode double elimination. Hidden characters (Dark Ran/Mevious/Memory/Sprites) banned, but all others allowed. Quick search shows the game does a best-of-3 for versus mode, so it'll be by usual tourney rules. Reminder - winner gets free dinner. To clue you in on what this game is like - it's a versus shooter (like Touhou 9 PoFV), but without the danmaku, just lots of silly things and ~KAWAII~. () Second - I'm sure we'll all be wanting to grab food at some point. There is a Denny's near-ish (5 minutes or so up the highway), but I've never been there so I can't say if it's a good one or not. There's also an assortment of other restaurants and food places nearby, including (going from memory) McD's/BK, Subway, at least 3 pizza places, Lui Lui's (italian), Olive Garden, Longhorn steakhouse, ... probably a bunch of other stuff I don't even remember. Obviously we can decide what to get on-the-fly, but it might help to consider the options beforehand. Finally, I'll be making a run to the store on Friday to pick up some sodas and whatnot. Any particular wants (cue Tales asking for all the root beer)?
-
Hmm ... unfortunately the best I can offer you is either you grab a couple hours of sleep while everyone is here, or you find a cheap hotel room nearby (I just checked, and there's like four within a couple minutes of me. Oddly enough, I never really noticed before. ). I understand where you're coming from with this, but I can't really offer space for a bunch of people to stay overnight. As far as drivers - is it just you and Mike? I thought Glitch might be driving as well. Anyways, assuming this doesn't become a deal-breaker, we're on for this coming Saturday (2012 Aug 04). Those driving should PM me for directions. Also, it'd be nice if you could let me know who's planning on being here, so I have a decent idea of how much stuff I need to get. Jeez, that sucks. Get better soon.
-
Hi there! There hasn't been much in the way of regional tournaments lately (most stuff I've seen is the BrainBox crew over by Boston, but they seem intent on playing Capcom games so nuts to that (disclaimer: I'm a bit biased )) We usually end up meeting every couple of weeks down in Wolcott, CT on Saturdays, although we're looking at meeting up at my place in Nashua sometime soon - looks like that'd be only a bit over an hour drive for you. Glad we agree then. Saturdays tend to be easier for most people, so that'd be the most likely day. Is there room in the MindMobile or the Whycar? (on that note, have Why/Mindgame said they're cool with this date yet?)
-
That would probably be a good time for it if most people can work with it. The few weeks after I'll probably have less time due to my brother getting ready to go back to school (and needing me to get him to/from stores and such). I know Katz says he can't make it then, though ... what does everyone else think? Preferably I'd like to solidify the date soon (so I'm not scrambling around at the last minute getting shit together).

Shoutouts to Why for hosting. Shoutouts to Tales for E's Laf. Also CANNON SUPER YYYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH! Shoutouts to LPT for going insane from playing Melty with me. Also for trying E's Laf. Shoutouts to Seth for letting us use the laptop for E's Laf. Shoutouts to Zoob because Hi Zoob~ EDIT: almost forgot - shoutouts to Tales and LPT for Arcana Heart. So, with the talk of me hosting sometime ... any suggested dates? It would generaly have to be on either a Friday I have off (every other week) or a Saturday. If someone could bring an extra TV that'd be great. I only have 2 TVs (I could borrow one/two from my brother, though) plus a computer monitor. Finally, if/when this happens I'll probably be holding a mini-tournament of some random game like last time. Not sure what the game would be yet, but I'll be trying to find something few people know (last time was Tetris The Grandmaster). Free entry, and the winner'll get dinner on me (if I'm taking part and win, prize goes to second place).

inb4 I prove Lazy wrong. Can do. Also can do. If it ends up that all four of you want to go to casuals at the same time, we could try all fitting in my car. It technically fits 5 people, but I dunno how comfortable it'll be (for the bitches in the back seat, at least). I just generally said 4 because I'm guessing 5 would get a bit crowded. I refuse offers of gas money because I know you people are all poor. in after I prove Lazy wrong.
-
Sleeping arrangements may not be easy if you were thinking of just sleeping at my place - most everyone would probably end up having to be on the floor, and I dunno how well that'd sit with my brother (he's fine with people coming over, but I dunno about this much). Although I wouldn't expect you guys to stick around as late as we usually go down at Why's - I understand I'm not the 'normal case' with the travel thing. We can figure that type of stuff if/when the time draws near. Memo to self - maim Katz.
-
Not gonna be there. Annoying week at work, don't feel like going through the drive this time. On a somewhat unrelated note, LPT was pinging me earlier in the week about hosting casuals up here in NH sometime. It sounded like the MindCar could bring a few people at least. What do people think of this? (Note for the people who've been to my place previously - I'm in a new, bigger apartment now. Much less of a mess than my old place )
-
Shoutouts to Why for hosting, as always. Shoutouts to everyone who played Rock Band. It was fun getting to play with a bunch of other people. Admittedly, though, it was quite a pain to bring all that stuff, so it's not going to be a frequent appearance (every once in a while should be fine though, if people want). Shoutouts to the HDTV for having incredibly lopsided latency (over 200ms for audio, yet only ~50ms for video? Sure, however that works ...) Shoutouts to Crown/Katz/Tales for GG. Shoutouts to Tales again for silly extra mode GG nonsense. The fact that we actually found settings that "work" is rather silly. Shoutouts to going to Dennys rather than that other place.
-
I'm not heading to Fraga's this weekend, but I'd be happy to pick you up on the way to Why's when he's hosting. Just looked it up, and his new location (Wolcott CT), is pretty much exactly an hour from Enfield, and only a slight detour from my current route anyway. Stay optimistic - you'll get a chance to push buttons with use eventually.
-
Shoutouts to Why for hosting, as always. And I noticed that I drive right past that Denny's on my way back, so I surely won't complain if we decide to go there. Shoutouts to Tales/Katz/Fraga for GG. Shoutouts to Tales (again) and Glitch for SG. Shoutouts to LPT for dragging me into the endless cycles of Melty matches again. When talking about it, there were definitely a few people at least who were interested in Rock Band, so I'll try to remember to bring it next time. We can take the HD TV that everyone seems to complain about - the game can adjust for lag very well. Although, I don't know how well we'd fit if we leave it were it was yesterday, but that's details that can be worked out when we get there.
-
Shoutouts to Why for hosting, as always. Shoutouts to Crown for coming and exploring the middle of nowhere as we picked up people. Also asparagus. Shoutouts to LPT for Melty and also for not playing Skullgirls with me. Shoutouts to everyone else for the games in Skullgirls and Melty. Semi-related - Crown, on Ware, MA:
