Careful with that idea - from what I know most (if not all) converters introduce additional latency (because for some reason nobody cares). I'll give it a try only if the game actually runs like four times as fast as what's in the video. Also preemptively saying I'd probably try playing Chiyo first, because Chiyo.

Wow man, you shouldn't blow all of your life savings at once like that. Cool stuff. Only question is - do we have any setups that take component video in? From what I remember, the Asus model everybody uses only has HDMI (and all the SDTVs are probably just composite), and that device only grabs component video. But maybe I'm just forgetting something.

Don't start partying too much just yet. All I've been doing so far is playing tons of score attack (and a couple connection-zero netplay matches, which basically don't count) ... I still need to remember how things like matchups work in this game. ... or, y'know, just do what I always do and make it all up on the spot. I didn't see a thread for this event; the only 'Stratford' I can find on Google maps is at the very bottom on CT, so I'm not in any rush to switch plans.

Gonna agree with Lazy and Katz - it could be spaced out a bit more. It probably can work if we slide things around a bit. Might help to reshuffle the TVs so that it's not biggest-to-smallest or such - that'd allow a more even distribution of players across the room. If Tales brings his monitor too, though, then we'll have to find another spot for it (or just swap out the HDTV that had Tekken on it - I heard some saying it lags). Also, Shoutouts to Vyers for being at casuals again. Shoutouts to Katz/Tales/Mash (probably others I'm forgetting :/) for GG. Shoutouts to more people trying out Chaos Code. Shoutouts to Katz leaving trash in my car (was the root beer can also yours, or was that Tales?).

Nice stuff. Memo to self - play this game more. I can't let someone else upstage my Lunathia.

Shoutouts to Mindgame for hosting. Shoutouts to LPT, Furok, Juan, and Why for reminding me how frustratingly fun playing P4A is. Shoutouts to Giltch for some FUCing silliness. Shoutouts to playing Guilty Gear. Because Guilty Gear. Also these. </laziness> Good times, definitely. Though I will say - either yesterday was just a bad day for me or this is getting close to my limit for travel. I know it's not much farther than Why's, but I was definitely feeling worn out by the time I got home. Not that it'll stop me from heading to stuff all the time because I'm crazy.

I think LPT just has some probably-unhealthy obsession with trying to break how I play fighting games, and MB is his best game so he sticks at it for all of forever. Done intentionally after they flagged my other CMV for the music. But just realized that I meant to set it to unlisted instead; changed it now. Link, for those who wan it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c_l10FTXBs I'll see about it. Not entirely certain yet but it's a good chance I can make it. Same place as when we met before going to Guilty Madness, right? (For what it's worth, main reason I didn't go last time was more just the fact that Katz, Tales, and I already put together other plans after hearing about Why's basement.)

Another Celia II here. Although once I actually pick the game up myself I might start finding someone to sub since it seems everyone I play with hates Celia II. Speaking of which - an odd question to ask from my perspective, but how can someone deal with all of Celia II's defensive/reversal options? From what we've seen, she has the following: Roll and backstep (universal, of course) Shield (at least seems to be invuln on frame one, negative enough to be punishable if they're close but not if they're far. Also has a pretty huge hitbox) EX scythe (seems stupidly good for no reason - why is this a reversal? Only problem is I've seen it whiff if the opponent is really close) Lvl 3 fuckoff sword (... is apparently a reversal? I mean, it is a level 3 and it can be rolled on reaction, but still ... Also it seems to whiff vs air, but there's no time to jump) Teleport (... has almost no recovery if going forward, it seems, apparently is invuln from frame 1) DP super (probably the most reasonable ... good hitbox but really unsafe) I feel like the people I play with (if you're here, hi Katz and Tales ) are starting to get legitimately frustrated by this. Any ideas to help even things out? Or should I just start learning Cait&Sith like I was planning way back when 1.0 was in arcades?

Huzzah! I'll be there. Can do. Katz - I assume you'll want a ride, too? Oh come on, that move is nothing short of day-one tier. Just block it and punish or some shit. Also they posted a tier list/matchup chart over in the Chaos Code thread. Cerberus and Cthyllia are both higher tier than Celia II. We all managed to pick high-tier characters, interestingly enough. Also congrats to Tales on failing to pick low-tier, I guess.

I was originally planning to nab the arcade board like a year or so ago. Then a dumbass deer ran out in front of my car on the highway. If you bring it, I'll definitely play it at least. Only reason I'm not already getting it is simply how much of a pain it is to get stuff from the foreign PSN (yay laziness?). There's already been rumblings of a western release, so I figure some patience may pay off. Who're you looking to play? For me it's Celia II and/or Cait & Sith, possibly subbing Rui.

The first question I asked as well. It's all crap except P4A (hell, not even BB got in there? I mean, I don't play it, but I thought that was the 'popular' anime game these days). It does seem like an interesting place, though, and I have been thinking of taking a trip there because I heard they have a DJMAX Technika cabinet. Maybe I'll bust my shitty Naoto play back out and give it a go. <facetious>Also, it's on my birthday so someone else should pay for me.</facetious> If we do have casuals, then sure. Subject to the usual caveat of work making me feel like shit, but that's not likely an issue this week.

And an update - just got off the phone with Mindgame, and I'll be at his place Friday night to head out with the group Saturday morning. Will have to pass on any significant post-event activities though, since I still have some stuff that needs doing on Sunday. Though I'd be cool with hitting up a diner or something small like that at the least. HUZZAH! Also, Tales - Mindgame is calling you fat. Just FYI.

Breaking News! Due to cancellation of previously planned family holiday events, my weekend is suddenly a lot emptier than it previously was, and I am reconsidering attending Guilty Madness! I'll be talking with Mindgame tomorrow and will have the definite answer by then, so stay tuned! First to five in Aquapazza! (of course not, really. Just play an extra match between the tied players - that's simple enough.)
