Central Fiction Arcade Plot Discussion (spoilers)

It's extremely unlikely That Which is Inherited is non-canon, and much MUCH more likely to be one of very many translation errors. Either way, neither may be the case. -
Central Fiction Arcade Plot Discussion (spoilers)
VermilionBird replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
I'm glad to have him in CF and I care largely about the story. Code: Embryo didn't have a lot to add to the BlazBlue narrative, true enough, but the two series are linked. Lost: Memories is largely related to BlazBlue because of Nine, Celica, the Phantom Field, etc. Ragna's archetype was a brooding protagonist, and here we have Naoto, who's practically the Ken to Ragna's Ryu. His moveset is quite literally nods to other protagonists of other fighting game series, and that's likely what his base is. I'm also gonna call you out on calling BE dumb. It's fantastic, and personally, I loved it. Its done its best to connect XB and BB, and it did so, and it's hardly mucking up the plot further. Yeah, it gives us a few questions but it gives us a lot of answers. We see how Valkenhayn and Relius know each other, we learn about the Terumi clan, and we see lots of little references here and there, like with Saya Terumi. Mori's always had a rough outline for how BlazBlue was going to go. Mori had always planned for Celica to appear in the main games, and even have a high probability of becoming playable. He's got this planned and we don't know how it'll turn out, so please don't criticise Naoto's inclusion and the BE series as a whole until we actually know exactly where Mori is going with this. It's fine to not like something in a game, but your manner in voicing your disapproval wasn't exactly great. Anyway, this is clogging up the thread, if you want to talk more about it, then go ahead and send me a PM. -
Central Fiction Arcade Plot Discussion (spoilers)

First off, I'm just gonna criticise your signature for being hilariously hypocritical before I delve into the meat of this argument. Nine's design like this was practically revealed in CP. Sure she should be wearing more, but you actually expect something from a Japanese game where this kind of stuff is everywhere? I don't like it, but I'm not going ahead on a smear campaign because Mori did something you don't like. Naoto is meant to be like a typical protagonist. This series thrives off archetypes, so it was only a matter of time until this one was put in. He's clearly a part of the plot here, and judging by all the arcade info flowing in, there is something going on in the background of the story which none of us know about. He's not a "shitty ripoff ham-fisted into the story". He's a legitimate character who's here to stay. He's the only character who has directly interacted with characters from XBlaze, Bloodedge Experience, and BlazBlue. He's important, and I'm glad to have him in Central Fiction, as are many other people. Instead of throwing all your toys out the pram and complaining rather vulgarly about something you don't like, just move on and get over it. This thread is for speculation and story information, not opinions that are, frankly, annoying. -

Please don't tell me that Mu goes mad with power. I don't think my little heart can take it. -

Just why would Minerva go batshit towards Naoto? I feel like it's something to do with Kiiro since MInerva has the ES plates but that's wishful thinking. -

She primarily fought with sorcery, and was never seen using a weapon, I believe. I'm actually inclined to believe Hi no Kagutsuchi could be a Nox. It looks like it, and I'm sure there were some souls spare during Doomsday that could've been used as the core. Not to mention Nine is one of the few people who could legitimately make one with Infinite Gravity. It isn't very likely a Detonator or a Phenomenon Weapon but I wouldn't rule it out, either. -

I wonder if this'll go so far as to Bullet getting the Sector Seven theme. -

I'm quite excited. If the Ikaruga War never happened then that changes so much. Tenjo might be alive and other characters could be radically different. I know this 'loop' might not last long but it's nothing short of interesting, especially Bullet's situation. Also, is it said Makoto's a part of S7 or is she still with the NOL in this 'loop'? -

That may not be the case. It's possible she's doing a last ditch attempt to save herself by "rewriting the book" once more. -
Who do you want to be the protagonist of BB 5?
VermilionBird replied to Redhydra's topic in Zepp Museum
I'd like to see Terumi get his origins expanded on, definitely. A novel or manga would be preferable for that in my opinion but I don't think I could see him as a protag for BB5 if that ever happens in the far far future. -

Naoto's already the protagonist of Bloodedge Experience so idk. I really want Rachel as the next main protag. I'd say Kokonoe but I'm still holding out hope for that manga that Mori mentioned many moons ago... -

The Ten Sages have never had all their seats filled. Kokonoe doesn't like using Ars Magus or magic. Rachel can't use magic anymore. Naoto could never use magic. Barely anyone can use magic. At the moment, only Celica and Phantom can. That's not enough to build the Magic Guild with. To be a member of the Ten Sages, you need to have mastered alchemy, and the magical arts. Like, please. I'm trying to be nice, but speculation has to have some form of base and not just be idyllic daydreams. Otherwise, this thread would go too far into the toilet to save. -

The Duodecim aren't so bad. All of them (bar Hazuki because that wasn't revealed if they agreed or not) had heard the news about Kagura's planned coup against the NOL, yet they didn't turn him in, and seemingly gave their support. -

1. If you're talking about the NOL in major society then you have to remember that they are basically the world police. They regulate the control of Grimoire's which are used in every aspect of day-to-day life. Outside of the main group of characters, nobody knows who Hazama is, or knows what the Imperator even looks like during CP. The NOL is such a huge force that Kagura's coup d'etat was the only way to make sure there wasn't another war yet still have the evil uprooted. Of course, the NOL's true nature has been apparent for a while now, evident by the fact that not everyone is too fond of Library soldiers (just look at Linhua, for example), and this could mainly be attributed to the Ikaruga Civil War. At the end of CP, the nature of the NOL should be much different as Homura is now in charge, but whether or not the people of the world will still think the same of the Library is something that remains to be seen. 2. CP isn't part of another loop. At the end of CT, the loops ended when Noel became the Eye of the Azure. In CP, however, there is a sort of loop caused by a tug-of-war by Amaterasu and Takamagahara. Basically, every time something went wrong, Amaterasu would intervene, setting the clocks back so that wrong thing didn't happen. Every time it did this, it got closer to the entrance of a giant cauldron in the sky called the Nemesis Horizon. It eventually arrived at the entrance and, well, you know the rest. The scene with Tsubaki and Hakumen isn't straight from CT since Tsubaki was only present in a couple of flashbacks in Noel's story and the end of the game. Hope this helps! -

The two only really resemble each other at the end when Spinner gets Boundary-fied and turned into a similar monster with his face somewhere in the black tar that his body turned into. The love of insects is also shared, but the two are hardly parallels. -

There are a few parallels to BlazBlue, but there's more than a few that aren't: Naoto = Ragna Raquel = Rachel Saya Terumi = Saya Kiiro = the Murakumo Units That's about it. For XBlaze, however, there can also be: Haruka = Hinata (barely) Yuki = Yuki (strongest resemblance, may also be the same person). Otherwise, Relius, Valkenhayn and Clavis are the same characters (at least according to a Mori interview). Spinner, Kana, Shinnosuke, and Tadayuki don't have counterparts, so to speak. -

Noel is one of three clones of Saya (and looks the most like her imo) and has some of her memories. Noel also inherited Saya's terrible cooking while we're at it. -

It's either a Gain Art or an Overdrive. Both of which are Ars Magus based. The former is like Ragna's Blood Kain or Hakumen's Mugen while the latter is a type of Armagus that's very risky, but can take away the burden of using massive abilities (such as Observation for an Observer). Magic can only be used by Phantom/Nine, and Celica. Rachel can't use it anymore. Edit: Haven't been through Azrael's arcade for a while, but neither is the case. Let's just say power of science. -

VermilionBird replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
It's very likely that Azrael gave himself the Enchant Dragunov (which is probably a Gain Art or Overdrive) in order to limit his strength so he could enjoy fights instead of killing his opponents with little effort. He probably needs to limit it more, since he's only using around 1/8th of his strength according to his Arcade victory quote against Kagura. -

Seithr can cause mutations, yup. Animals must've either adapated or mutated. There's probably a few species which haven't done either. -

VermilionBird replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
Most of the fauna in BlazBlue was either wiped out by the Black Beast or died from seithr poisoning. The species that are left must've undergone mutation from the seithr or evolved to better adapt in typical Darwinism fashion. The Memory of BLUE short story shows that the beasts that mutated thanks to seithr aren't friendly since even the NOL needs to have barriers put up to stop them from entering. Alter Memory, despite how bad it is, shows the beasts attack rabidly with little prodding to do so. Even in Noel's backstory about how she got Bolverk, she was attacked by a beast close to her family home. Basically, it seems like the species that mutated through seithr are vicious without provocation. That said, Lao Jiu shows that not all species are outright savage, and are relatively tame. The tartar does as well. I'm loathe to acknowledge it, but a certain Gag Reel says that Makoto has the genes of the "Kagutsuchi Island Squirrel" (even though she's from Shinatsu?). Then again, Lao Jiu was found near the Boundary iirc and acts as an intermediary device for Litchi to stream the Boundary's powers from. As for the Kaka's being descended from Jubei, well, we don't know anything about the latter. If he can resist seithr so brilliantly, then that might not've been a trait exclusive him and could've been something the rest of his clan had (including Tomonori), but that's just speculation on that part, but it does exclude Jubei and the Kaka's from being a medium to measure seithr corrosion. Kokonoe hasn't really come into contact with it, and Valkenhayn exists out of logic, so neither could be used either. Makoto's traveled through the Boundary without a scratch so she can't be used as an example for how beastkin resist seithr either since her strong soul reduces the corrosion rate. tldr: all the obviously mutated seithr animals are evil and all the known beastkin can't be used as examples for how to react to seithr since they're all extraordinary cases. http://abyss-of-the-azure.tumblr.com/post/112142614188/so-theres-a-theory-saying-that-ragna-is-an here's the majority of the evidence in favour for the theory that he isn't human. -

No, no. He was locked up by Kokonoe for a couple of years during the Ikaruga Civil War with assistance from Kagura, Hibiki, and especially Tager. She locked him in a cryogenic prison until his release by a Sector Seven official. Watch a summary of the Collision story on Youtube and you can find out how it happened.
