  1. YRCs and Danger Time are a whole different ball game than FRCs, though.
  2. It's a solid riff on the Herzog Zwei/Sacrifice/Savage model of RTS, with very complex and deep mechanics that demand a lot of the player. It failed because the genre shift was too drastic, Sol and Ky were the only recognizable characters, and the gameplay was extremely unintuitive and difficult to grasp (not gonna deny I have trouble with it). I would rank it above every MOBA out there.
  3. If Akira and Pai don't have playable, competition-legal versions, my interest in this game will be almost completely shot. Note that Pai is an assist character.
  4. 1990's sprite fanboyism is largely the reason why the Street Fighter EX series and SNK's Hyper Neo Geo 64 hardware were thrown under the bus. These games really didn't deserve to be ignored, and this attitude isn't helping developers in the 2010s any more than it did in the nineties. Mori probably wants the Blazblue series to go 3D so they can finally do the long-rumored GG vs. BB crossover game.
  5. Why does a game necessarily have to adhere to the same genre as the earlier entries of its series to be considered a "true" part of it? By your logic, P4A isn't a true Persona game.
  6. Very surprised and pleased by the announcement of an Xbox 360 version (exclusive to US/PAL). I'm sure that ArcSys wouldn't have done one on their own, but it was Atlus' call to make.
  7. Is 7344 yen the price of the physical release?
  8. TTT2 on 360 is still fairly active online. You should be able to find at least a couple people online at any given time. I checked last week. It's only the Wii U version that's dead.
  9. Unreal Engine is known for being well suited to the 360 (see Gears of War), but it's less than ideal when used with the PS3's non-PC-based architecture.
  10. Obviously, it would be very convenient and greatly appreciated by all if both versions could play online with each other. I wonder if they'll have the resources to implement this, or if it's even possible. There aren't currently any PS3/4 cross-play titles, right?
  11. I'm sure that the majority of initial players, myself included, will go with the PS3 version simply because they don't want/can't afford to drop over $400 on a single game that's not even an exclusive (as well as a new arcade stick). I know that there isn't a single game announced for the PS4 or Xbone right now that both appeals to me, and won't be available on last-gen consoles or PCs. Future iterations of the game will most likely be exclusive to the PS4, and that's fine and understandable. But right now is way too soon for most people.
  12. Taito did give Darius Burst AC a limited test release in US arcades, but it doesn't use NESiCA to begin with.
  13. My money's on the PS3 version being sub-720p and removing most animated elements of stages, as well as the more hardware-intensive effects, to ensure a consistent framerate and nearly arcade-perfect gameplay. I think the alterations will be comparable to the Vita versions of MvC3/SFxT/MK9/Injustice.
  14. Yeah, the last good arcade in MA (Tokyo Game Action) was pretty much run into the ground by their investment into four SFIV cabinets, when the game came out in 2008. There were other factors that led to their closure, but that was the 10-ton weight that broke the camel's back. Some lady ended up getting pressured into buying them at auction; I wonder where they are now.
  15. Nothing known about the console versions yet except that they will release in 2014.
  16. It's most likely impossible. Even if you can get some RingEdge 2 systems, Xrd does not have a physical arcade kit and requires an ALL NET P.Ras Multi subscription, which is Sega's competing service to NESiCA. Both these services are heavy on DRM and were designed to completely lock out unauthorized use of their games, in response to widespread Chinese piracy among other factors. Like with NESiCA, I'm quite certain that signing up for it is not a simple process, and requires hard verification that you're an arcade operator in Japan. Even if you could sign up, it's locked to Japanese IP addresses.
  17. When is someone going to start a Bedman thread in his character discussion board? It doesn't have a moderator yet either.
  18. Damn, I forgot it was the Hi-Nu that has the psycoframe and didn't look in that thread.
  19. What effects does activating the psycoframe sample with the Nu Gundam have?
  20. Is it just me, or does the shadow spirit created by one of Bedman's ODs look incredibly similar to Phantom Ganon from Zelda: Wind Waker?
  21. Bedman's theme is my favorite so far. It's Xrd's equivalent of "Keep in Gates," a dark, moody theme with quiet parts that's at odds with the rest of the OST. Goes well with all the inhuman growling emanating from Bedman.
  22. You know it is. There's never been such a wide gap between a BB game's JPN and US console releases before. It's gonna hit Aksys harder than they or a lot of people on this board are anticipating. Because it wasn't mentioned before, TTT2 online play is still functional for all three consoles. Tekken Federation shutting down just means no stat tracking.
  23. Isn't it a wee bit hypocritical that you willingly imported BBCP instead of waiting for the US release in March, but you're denouncing everyone else who imports? We're not at fault that the patch is taking forever; Arc's tied up with Xrd and they can't spare the resources to please a couple thousand gaijin for next to no financial gain. It's that simple. Stop being a baby. If you want AC+R, either get a 360 (if you're in the US) or buy it off the JPN PSN. Or, don't. Your choice.
  24. Yeah, between this and Blade Arcus, it seems like Sega is really flailing about within the fighting genre and doesn't know what to do with it anymore. I wish they'd hurry up and make Virtua Fighter 6 already. It's going to suck if there's a new console generation that goes without a VF.
  25. Blade Arcus is most likely not from French Bread. The game is in a completely different style and seems to use prerendered 3D sprites like Koihime Musou.
