If you have any idea how to play this matchup I'd appreciate the advice. 5D and 2D are so fucking slow that it feels like Kanji can just tackle on reaction if I try to lame him out. 2C abuse also feels like a very bad idea because it loses to a lot of stuff. Feels better to just challenge him in the air with j.5A and then convert. Also mandala loses to DP. I haven't tested this in full but if you try to reversal mandala it seems like he can just cancel into DP and beat you. My best results with this MU come from getting 5D out and then baiting reversal attempts by running at him so I can fatal him. Anyone know if you can do slide>gunshot safely as a blockstring? Is it tight enough that he can't just grab a slide attempt or should I just go straight into gunshot?
  2. Some of the character trailers straight up had invalid combos lol. I even remember when Adachi's JP trailer first came out I thought Adachi's j.5D was air unblockable before I realized that the ! didn't show up and that it was just the other char not teching <__<
  3. My prediction is that with the damage lowered and overall nerfs to characters' mixup and neutral tools, we'll be back to another "do long combos because that's the only way to actually hurt people" game but I hope I'm wrong.
  4. IIRC Platinum is for people new to BB, and Celica is for people new to fighters as a whole. According to Toshimichi "Izayoi is a beginner friendly character" Mori at least.
  5. I think that's the point TBH. When they said Celica was a beginner character they probably meant she was barebones and didn't require a lot of thought so I don't expect a lot of interesting tech for her. At least she hits hard enough lol.

  7. I don't see what makes Adachi shit. If struggling at full screen was enough to make a character shit then we need to call Akihiko shit too and we all know that isn't the case.
  8. What you call being "tsundere for the game" is actually a desire to not see a solid, well put together fighter go down the shitter due to horrible balance decisions and a bloated roster. I hope that the next Blazblue pulls a Xrd and trims the fat down to only like 14 or so characters.

  11. AoAs are easily punished/beaten though and most aren't + on block.
  12. I remember when Guilty Gear's cast was MANLY and DARK and BADASS and--wait what do you mean May was introduced in the very first game.

I would personally advise against using audio cues since you're not always going to be able to hear them (especially if you play at locals/majors/cons/etc) but at the very least it will help you nail the "moment" so you'll be able to do it consistently without the cue eventually. Now my question, what are some good FC combos, for moves that are fatal recovery? 5A starter preferable but it doesn't really matter.
  14. Don't forget that priority for mvoes hs been changed in this version. If you're trying to mash something out too hard you might end up getting something else.
  15. It depends on who you finish it with. I'm told finishing it with Shadow Labrys gets you Nanako/Fuuka/whatever as a navi. I did it with Minazuki and got fuck all, and people are saying Adachi doesn't get you anything either so you'll probably have to buy his.

For one who seems to care about "helping out the community" so much you sure are quick to run to Eventhubs, the site known for copypasting, sensationalist articles and plain old shitty reporting. So is it confirmed that you can't unlock Adachi navigator in game? I'd rather not shell out for it if I can avoid it.

  20. YES, EXACTLY, THANK YOU. Even if you don't like the way this character looks (I'm neutral but it's not like "uguuu cute girl" is a new thing for GG AT ALL) she's bringing a fighting style that has never been seen before int his series. Hell for a series as fucked up and wild as GG is it's kind of strange to think that there's not been a single character with a focus on firearms until now. I have no idea how anyone wanting "serious" characters can have a problem with anime Freddy Krueger let alone call him a BB character. I guess "looks like a Blazblue character" is the Guilty Gear fan's version of saying a Pokemon looks like a Digimon.
  21. I dunno why everyone has a problem with this type of character now and not 10-so years ago when May, Bridget, etc. first started popping up. I like Guilty Gear's characters but they aren't all a bunch of serious edgy badasses like some of you seem to like to say.
  22. It's still week 1, but Jesus this character is wacky. Just like writing off a character as S tier off promotional footage is dumb, I don't want to write this character off as garbage when she's only a week old, but it's gonna take some serious shit for her to make an impression IMO. I do hope that we get proven wrong though.

  25. Do you leave out 2B in the early part (ie: 5AA>2B>5B>5C) because it causes hitstun decay? Cause if you use 2B shouldn't it drag you close enough to the corner to make the dash easier? I haven't tried it myself but I'm probably about to.
