  1. I've got some more matches where I'm less awful that I could record and upload tonight, but they'd have to be soundless because my parents are asleep and I have to crank the TV way up to have sound in the kludged setup I use to record. I mostly run up and attack because I know how poor Liz's air options are, and being forced into an air fight with just about anyone is a losing situation for me. The way I look at it has been, "Well, if everything I can use is on the ground, I should be too unless I have to leave it." with regards to Liz. I've found that if I use Agidyne in anything other than a guaranteed not-gonna-get-hit situation - such as the opponent turtling or being another Elizabeth trying to heal - then it's going to get punished. Zio is nice, but I don't like to use it too much against Yu because they like to just slide under it and continue their hijinks once they find out they can. I only use AOA if the opponent is recovering or otherwise extremely unlikely to punish it before the startup. I use BD a lot because it's like a longer-range, status-inflicting grab that can get me out of corners. Thanks for the tips though. I'll learn to play more cautiously and do what I can about learning some combos.
  2. Chicago (or any big city really) would be sweet as hell to live in, but alas, I'll most likely be in the Kansas City area. I've found that with Rina's assist active, just about everything is a combo. I mostly use her because I started to learn the game using her and Multi, which was a very nice combination in my eyes. I mostly use Serika because the grab is handy and the move she gets from the opponent is generally pretty useful to have. There are some partners I just can't fathom using, though, such as Yu. Are those partners just for extra hits in combos or something?
  3. Anybody down to play sometime in the next couple hours?
  4. I'm in the South now and will probably be in the Midwest in a few months. :C I'm adding Grimsley-San and Crimefighter though, if you guys are cool with that. To return the discussion to the game, I mostly use Chizuru and Manaka with Sasara or ... um... the singer lady with red hair. I just can't figure out any big combos, though. This game's much more strict than the ones I'm used to.
  5. I'd absolutely love to add you, but I don't have a mic (or headset or CB radio or whatever it is the PS3 uses) and I don't play Aquapazza very often. Got a fightstick a couple weeks ago and I've been playing Arena a ton whenever I'm playing the PS3. In addition to that, I'm about as beginner as it gets with Aquapazza.
  6. Sorry if this is a double post, but I posted a couple minutes ago and my post hasn't shown up yet. Is this game completely dead online? I bought it on a whim a couple weeks before Christmas and I've tried to play online a few times, but I haven't seen a single soul aside from the odd pair of friends in a room. Shame, too, because I really like it.
  7. As a novice, my input isn't helpful, so I'll avoid accidentally giving the wrong advice. Up to now, I've tried to learn by feeling out the characters/games I play for myself except for things like matchup tips. Sorry I can't be helpful. On that note, here's a video of mine from a couple weeks ago. I have some more recent replays saved that I'm going to throw up eventually, but I've been too lazy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDy2hvS4EBg Some things I noticed: -If the enemy blocks and freezes up, I like to walk them across the screen with Thanatos and grab them. Playing online more has cured me of this, since that's a good way to break a card. But I still do it occasionally. -I did use the AOA (bad idea already) but I didn't even knock him in the air for AOA>j.B>j.C or AOA>j.A>j.B>236C when I did. Silly me. I've learned to only use Elizabeth's AOA when I'm absolutely sure I won't be punished for it, but... could use some pointers. -I loooove me some Shuffle Time. -I don't grab very often. Not sure how useful it really is, but... I just don't do it. I don't know very many combos and haven't yet found a way to combo off the grab because I never use it in the first place.
  8. I didn't know that 214214D could be reacted out of or that it was slower than a regular grab (input time aside). I thought it was either you're too close and touching the ground so you're going to be hurt, or you're far enough away and/or in the air and you can laugh heartily as Elizabeth stands there like an idiot.
  9. That's most likely it if the boost lasts until the next attack and doesn't run out after x seconds. 214214D may have just gone from "that thing I use when I'm being pressured" to "that thing I use whenever I could do a regular grab." Another question: Is there any use at all for 236236C and 236236D? I haven't used them because of how insanely risky they are - I feel like while I'm taking the time to set them up, the opponent will just waltz over to me and eat me for breakfast while I'm pulling them out.
  10. Not to ignore the conversation at hand, but... Is Stylish too easy of an answer? Man, I hate figuring out somebody that I really respect for being so good is just using Stylish halfway through the match. Hopes get built up, and taken back down.
  11. I did Ghastly Wail on wakeup against a Labrys-user online today. No Fear, and I doubt it was a counter because they were recovering from the autocombo. 4500 damage. How is that possible? I have the replay saved so I can look again and get info, but for now... whaaaaaat?
  12. I'm new to Dustloop, so sorry if this thread's been made before. I have awful internet (online, I'm lucky to get 2 bars against someone), and usually it behaves, but over the course of 169 matches, I've dropped connection three or four times. It hasn't been either of us quitting because either we've both been in the process of attacking or the match just froze for 30 seconds. Anyway, I'd never had a red name before my last match. It went well. By that, I mean I got handled by a great Shadow Labrys, but I had fun. No connection problems at all. And now I have a red name. What gives? In Blazblue, I think you have to drop one-fifth of your matches to get a red name. Is it just buggy for Arena or something?
  13. Is it possible to take to the air to smack Yosuke back onto the ground without it being suicide? I can't deal with his pressure if I stay on the ground.
