[XRD] M.O.M. Mode Discussion/Netplay
indie_animator replied to Blade's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Got the Buckle & Bracelet, but I guess I need more of them & higher aptitude. Maybe get E.Rain. I got Sin's health low enough that he went into boss mode, but then his energy refilled & he KOed me. Maybe you have to hit him out of the regeneration like Gill in SF3. I can try again next weekend (maybe). -
That's OK, thanks for all the info on those specifics. I read the wiki when it was first posted, but it's good to reread. I've watched a lot of Nage on YouTube but can always look at the most recent vids.

How do you manage to land a 214 H in a typical match, and how do you combo from it? It's a move I don't seem to find a way of using much. I've never found a use for doctor copter. How do you use it as a combo finisher? How do you do a fast low drill cancel and what do you do after the cancel? New point: what's the best RCs to do? I know the throw, RC, dash S, 2S, air combo, but maybe the other is air combo, end w/jHS RC jS jHS? Trying to improve, so thanks for any info!

[XRD] M.O.M. Mode Discussion/Netplay
indie_animator replied to Blade's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Good info, thanks! I managed to beat Elphelt thanks to the strategy posted here (it was close). Worked my way back down to Sin, and couldn't beat him. My highest aptitude for something is 2, and I don't have Bracelet of Calling or Buckle of Freedom. I could look for them... The only item I bought a lot of so far (8) is Poison Mist. Faust Strength: 40 Other stats: around 20-30 Maybe I need to level up more before trying again next weekend... -
[XRD] M.O.M. Mode Discussion/Netplay

Thanks for all the info! I went across the map to Elphelt yesterday & lost 5 times (KOed by whale & Cake OD) before moving on to other things, but will try again based off your tips. I have most of the items, but will try leveling up Aegis Field (just got it) & hopefully win, then move back down to Sin again. -
[XRD] M.O.M. Mode Discussion/Netplay

Cool, I was hoping someone would make a topic for this (I almost did). I spend more time on vs, but am curious about seeing all of this game mode. I wish the World $ Store was around earlier. Ah well. I'm class 14 & am using Faust, but can't beat Sin. Gamefaqs gave me some Sin tips: 9x Poison gas, max level. 9x Dark Angel, max level. 9x Stun Grenade. Tension potion, I think I have 9x of these, but maybe not. Then my supplemental stuff has mostly to do with tension gauge. Start match, dark angel (either overdrive or item) and poison gas, get them to the corner, and spam the hell out of both stun grenades and dark angels. Guess I'll give it a shot. How did you beat Sin? His health drops really slow, even while poisoned (and I attack) then time over. Then I just need to get to the upper right to clear a few more stages & get to El. I don't know about getting all the items. Too much else in life I'd rather do. -
Anyone ever take public transit to this place? I've been thinking about it for a year or so, but am not sure if you can get to the place from Caltrain. I'm pretty unfamiliar w/Caltrain on Sat. Guess it runs once an hour. Seems it links to a BART station. I'd be coming from Fremont or W.Creek. Skullgirls is going on 5/23 along w/some Arc.

Yep, thanks. I generally use meter for other stuff anyway: FD, dead angle, the other OD, and for RCs (though I need to try for them more often). I try to avoid getting attacked while failing a tricky input. 0.0 For RCs: I've read that good ones are after hitting a Buster or Megafist to continue for damage. Maybe after a Hammerfall or HF Brake? It's been a while, but I've read all 20-something pages here.

Easier inputs make him more fun for me, though I've never won a match w/him in online vs. (got close a few times). Still can't do HCFx2 (I just avoid this OD), and Extend after Heat is still almost impossible for me. Wonder when the input should start... Read most info here in the subforums, watched vids, and go for simple combos I can remember & execute online (I try for good connections anyway). Still wondering if I should sub him (I'd drop Venom as a sub). I like grapplers, and this character, but I'm not sure I can win using him. But the patch just came out, so I should give it some time...

[Xrd] Leo Whitefang General Discussion

I stopped using him the past few weekends, but with the patch making inputs easier, maybe his OD motion is easier to do now... And the third part of rekka (which I had trouble w/for some reason). -
Safe haven for people who actually play Skullgirls
indie_animator replied to Domo's topic in Misc Fighter Central
Beowulf story was fun. Balance tweaks, including a new Double super. Did some training with Wulf w/a Skullheart forums person. Trying to main a new character can be tough, but I'll go for it. You've probably heard the PS4/Vita info: http://skullheart.com/index.php?threads/skullgirls-2nd-encore-challenges-trials-voiced-story-mode-and-more.7275/ I'm just waiting on PS3 release of RoboFortune, and playing online vs. PSN friends & Skullbats PS3 weekly Sat. online tournament. -
Main Difference Between Online and Offline
indie_animator replied to Vowtz's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Sorry to hear that. I'm in the Bay Area & don't ignore any PSN messages I get, but can only play weekends. I haven't been able to play vs. people from here for a few weeks despite sending out invites. I suppose we all have different schedules. Maybe most people on the w.coast & central US play during the week only or stopped playing the game or using this site. Then there's real life stuff too, so I try to be patient. Currently grinding through M.O.M. & found two people on the w.coast I watched play for a bit. -
I love the music for this game, especially Aki, Kanji, Naoto, Chie, Mits, Yukari, Junpei, Rise, Aigis, Yu, Master of Tartarus, Mass Destruction, Castle & Danger Zone. Songs I wish could get buffed in 2.0 are s. aki (barely music at all- they can do better). Labrys, Ted & Ken- kinda hokey themes; could be cooler. Marge- not into the tune. Marie- catchy, but out of place for fighting s.lab & sho/zuki.

I guess one could be "content" with virtual hitting. If v.o. work is sub-par, though, I wouldn't put the blame on the person who chooses their language to play a game in. I took a semester on Japanese some years back & love the language, but choose english for games so I understand everything for whatever character my opponent or I decide to pick.

I've been reading posts in this topic for a while. Pretty interesting points, and many of them are valid for other games besides BB. I wonder if the topic should include the others/be moved. If not, it's cool (I don't have CP yet).
-
Pretty cool info on Sharon in Slayer's stage, the movie on Bedman's stage, etc. People had some good questions on other things as well, such as the story on the Zato/Venom stage.
-
Ah, thanks for the info on El's stage. I figured Arena was one. Now that I know those two are the best, I'll go with those (and encourage others in chat as well).
-
Good topic. I love the stages in this game, and many other fighters over the years. Bedman's even has a short film! I train on the upbeat outdoor ones: Faust, May, Ky, etc. because I don't care for "dark" red and black as much. Cool that music can be seperate from the stage. If a BG is too cluttered or distracting, it's a bit of a problem visually, and often for netplay. P4AU has dedicated netplay stages, but I almost never see any choices in this game. One person from here stuck w/Arena stage in our set which was cool. I'm guessing that one is best vs. lag. Any others, I wonder...

Thanks for posting. Watched some of the bottom vid (vs Dwomy). Looks like some new 2.0 corner combos & other interesting things. These help with knowing what to shoot for in my basic approach.
-
Ah, now I see why there isn't one. Thanks for the info.
-
Heh, nice. The only other games I play currently are P4AU and a little bit of Skullgirls. It actually raises a good point I've been deciding on for years; how many fighting games, and characters in those games can you handle well at once. I've tried to limit myself to a main & two subs in most games over the years. I suppose a bad habit could be overextending yourself by spreading yourself too thin, but it may vary for the individual.
