You can also bet if this was in street fighter it would be banned in a heartbeat until Capcom patched it out. And its even less abuseable in that game. THE ONLY REASON PAD PLAYERS CARE IS THEY GOT USED TO SHORTCUTTING 3 BUTTONS. We are not going to inhibit your ability to play the game, but unfortunately it will require you to make an adjustment. One that stick players already spent years making. Did any stick player here honestly start their gaming career on an arcade stick? I even played pad guilty gear for 2 years before I bought a stick and I lived in two cities with motherfucking arcades. I spent over 365 days getting my ass beat wishing I could execute like I used to on pad, and you want to complain about an adjustment that shouldnt take a few hours?!!! I learned stick in tournaments, in casuals, across the united states. FOR FUCKS SAKE banning macros should not affect your gameplay
-
regardless of how groundbreaking the glitch is gives certain players an advantage that would be impossible for someone who say modded their stick for a guilty gear layout (i've owned a 5 button stick before) CAN YOU AT LEAST ADMIT THAT THIS WILL INDEED BE SOME SORT OF ADVANTAGE?!!!! There is no work-around for these people fighting people abusing the glitch. now lets look at macro using pad players reassign some buttons, spend a few hours learning that the O button is now the R1 button. you've got plenty of time to adjust to this and everybody can now play to the best of their abilities on even footing. (the only way you could say its not even is by saying that stick players now have an edge cuz they can do more...in which case you're just admitting that you're limiting yourself by playing pad) once again, i cannot understand why anyone in this thread is still pro-macro
-
I'm not at home to test this, but can you hold down HS and a macro buttom to spam slashback? That should be enough of a gamebreak for anyone. as a venom player this makes TK mad struggle lower and more reliable. I think it lets eddie do tricks with negative edging that isn't possible without a macro mapped, like attacking with a normal that's supposed to be held down. If nothing else these characters have reversals (except venom). Reversals by themselves are abuseable through this glitch.

It was built into the game so you could hit more buttons with one finger, not so you could assign a new turbo button. That was not intended. We are not telling saying you are a worse player (except that one guy) or lazy, we are saying it deteriorates the entire game as a whole. You made the choice to assign macros and use a custom layout. When you turn the game on they are not set up like that. that is something no one but you could control or predict. People generally set up their stick layout to match the arcade layout. Unfortunately this new evidence means we cannot simply allow things to be as they have been.

Yes, and klaige keeps posting better responses. Someone get that man a medal. and at amadeus A) no... you actually still kinda need to time reverals..this isn't blazblue. the game will read your motion for several frames but you need to be more precise with the buttom press. Which is why the macro is more reliable than any human with good timing. you can literally just be swinging the stick from down to forward at any reasonable pace not looking at the screen and the macro will net you reversal timing every single time. B) so banning macros might piss off 50 players. Not banning them will piss off a lot more

[+R] Sol Badguy Combo Thread (Updated 10/23/13)
faultydefense replied to VR-Raiden's topic in Sol Badguy
As far as I know the tkBR > 5k link has always worked on the whole AC cast. Off the top of my head I know the pickup worked on johnny and robo. It's a great option for no bar, you just didnt hear about it much cuz you typically needed to be very deep or have a running start, and hitconfirm very quickly into the tkBR which would prorate the combo kinda hard. off of 6P you can combo into 5H or 2H > airdash j.P etc for midscreen followups on the characters that will get pushed too far by the 6P or if you didn't get the running momentum to stay close enough -
you can roll the stick from down to back(xN) and hit the macro and execute the special the instant you come out of blockstun. I was always kinda proud to play gear, a game known for high execution and knowledge barriers and I don't see how "doing something they could already do" is an argument. Live and die by the frames man, if you can't time it, hold back. I probably won't learn it for NEC because I'd like this to be banned in the future and I don't want to waste the effort, but if this is actually allowed then I will be putting in the time to master abusing this glitch. I sure as hell don't want to play against a baiken that has this and any kind of patience. I would gladly though allow someone who asked me to set a needed command if he asked me during a tournament. If he managed to fake act a scrub through an entire tournament and still abuse the glitch in a non-obvious way he fuckin earned it.

Here's some stuff into damage maxing and making combos more reliable/less chara-sepcific. A Lot of this isn't new info, but something to think about with all the combos floating around. -Remember that on crouchers you can combo into standing heavy > alpha > forcebreak from quite a distance for easier and reliable 30%+ combos on the whole cast, and if you're real deep, even if they're standing. Probably the go to MIDSCREEN punish -After 6H(air hit) in combo I've started to do a slight delay before the airdash (it gives you some time to play around so you can change the wait based on bounce, chara, combo, etc), Most of the time you'll want to j.k > j.d instead of j.p > j.d after 6H > airdash. It's more reliable, and leads to more damage. (I still use j.P after 5H > airdash typically) -Learn when you'll be able to land and continue combo after 5H > 41236K~D. It'll be something you'll hit confirm often, and when you recognize it early in combos this is probably where u want to spend your bar to max your damage. (I win a lot of matces with blockstring XXXX [6P / 6H / 5H] air countherhits go into SH41236KD > SH41236KD > SH j.D for 50-60%. Because 5H has one less frame of hitstun, and the airdash combos are extremely chara specific a lot of the time, this is gonna be where a ton of corner damage comes from. 5KSSH airdash j.d works on a lot of standing characters, yet another option into knockdown. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF OKI And here's a sol specific tip: if the sol likes ending strings in gunflame, you can forcebreak beta blade through it (say he does 5KSSH gunflame), The FB beta will go through the flame and land the last hit on sol CH which leads to untechable knockdown and enough time for you to pick him up in an unscaled combo (and sol has a great hitbox for airdash combos from most distances) and more fluff: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HONC-30Qr0U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oPetZLOR4E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6VDPvWEMik http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zygPIt4mTfc
