  1. I dont have a stick anymore but damn I want to play. I got the game and a ps2 and I'll make the drive where I need to. I'll see if I can't get some people together for gear that weekend.

  7. Really not sure what to say about the ground throw one. You're close up and they're knocked down. Any of chipps options apply here. If you're fast you can even OTG gamma. J.HS > alpha if its too high for a ground combo. FRC into combo if you can. FRC teleport > j.S can lead to combos, where-as j.D knocks down 2d > rekka > 2h is character specific and spacing reliant, not really recommended but you could save it for slayer specific swag 6k it specifically for people who start blocking a lot (i think its at least neutral on block, too lazy to look) or against people that like to mash lows. It seems active for a long time and he gets off the ground. Goes over some characters quick pokes like axl 2k or a lot of characters 2Ps. On counterhit leads to IAD combo. Will jump the best sweeps like sol/anji/venom and recovers faster so you can punish with w/e. Also an option to get past exe beast happy testaments. If they mash high, you really can't use this move. You're doing TK alpha On bursting. Bursts are fast enough that you won't bait them or punish them all, and the counters to do them are rather hard, however ...you can attempt to extend your ground strings with more jump cancellable moves (5k 5k 2S f.S 5H etc) and then try to jump block when you see the burst. You can do lows and buffer in the down motion and try to do an S teleport when you see the burst. Then run back in and punish. The hard thing is a lot of people burst chipp's big damage moves that are easy to burst (6H / alpha blade) or they just burst to get him off which means it can be random or they can otg burst.

  10. man i'd love to make it out to another FR, but i don't have a ps2 stick anymore and i got a shitload of "maybe's" to deal with next month If I see a lot of gear support and I can work out what roof I'll be living under next month in time then hopefully we can add another texas player. I think jan and kensou are goin so they'd prolly sign up at the door if the tourney wasn't at odd hours.

  14. after doing the 6D 4D j.D 623D, I'm consistently, like 99 times out of 100 finding them too far away, generally too high, to get hit by the 623D. It's just not going far enough. Any advice? Tried delaying the C moves on the ground, and there doesn't seem to be much room for delaying the actual chain bites...Been tryin this with the same results on every character and multiple combos.

  17. proof that guilty gear bursts are not a comeback mechanic like x-factor: gold burst beat blue burst I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE IN THE HISTORY OF EVER GET HIT ON PURPOSE TO BLUE BURST SOMEONE, but in the few weeks that marvels been out i see people THROW AWAY characters for a last ditch sent/phoenix
  18. the only kind of assists that lose to random super are random assists x factor and burst aren't compareable at all, please don't degrade guilty gear like that...you can talk about blaz's tho

  20. I performed everything there on pad. Though I did play sol on pad for a long time. Tips on mashing more hits of GV? For directional input i think it helps if you go from one diagonal to the other, like up back to down forward as fast as you can. As it will be read as more inputs, while on buttons just find the two buttons you can alternate pushing the fastest. (I say two because if you try on more you'll get accidental roman cancels and bursts). On a standing GV you'll need 8 hits to clean hit on most characters. If you combo into it it can actually be a bit easier as you wont need all 8 hits. I've had people tell me they think its random how much to mash, but if you do it enough you'll get a feel for it. I will say that hands down though its easier on stick to reach that input threshold. To be perfectly honest though, I wouldn't try very hard on a psp as I'd be afraid to break it >.>. Grand viper already ate one or two of my ps2 pads lol. I applaud the psp version, and I have used it to practice some combos on the road, but in this particular case I wouldn't risk it, I can't think of other situations in guilty gear where you need to mash so hard, except maybe to get out of stagger.
  21. You're telling me that in this day and age people still think that zoning is cheap? Man, I had such high hopes for this generation too...
  22. you need a team that will keep her from getting zoned out. I know gong reflects projectiles, but if u get the life lead a good chunk of the cast can run from her without having to attack once or take much chip dmg if you see someone spamming the invuln hko assist, same thing, just run away, use fireballs and ranged supers to kill her safely as opposed to trying to duke it out imo she's scarier on point cuz gong completely shuts down most attempts to rush her down, but she can only be played with good assists, having her for the invuln assist is relying on the other person to not adjust or leaving it up to chance

  24. yo yo, ya man I dont even hang on dustloop that much anymore but I'll get you the info, I don't even have a working ps2 but I can get you my notes n shit for all the combos. I gotta rewrite a bunch cuz its mostly in formats only I would get atm, and I didn't note which ones are in the corner or mid only, some of them are pretty specific I actually have a sample of the P Vid like one of the combos actually doesnt start with a punch tho >.>, the editing is 30 seconds of windows movie maker, plus the punch video has probably the lamest combos :p (the K and H vids were where its at lol) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJ6nhMtLKT4 (at 1:24 pretend that started with j.P :D ) RE-RE edit I've had someone offer to loan me a ps2 if I will get off my lazy ass and do this so I don't have many more excuses. So I'll continue to work on this in between marvel 3 time once I get that. Now if someone wants to volunteer to take the combos I record and edit them together to make them look all nice n shit....I'd be your best friend
