  1. keep reading there his high low game is kinda scary, but honestly he can't get anything off a high attack without a lot of bar/charge meter to back it up, in which case, any character is gonna hurt. When he's short those options though, he's not gonna be able to get big damage off of much. you shouldn't be eating random fafnir's, as far as blocking on reaction, no you shouldnt have to, block low, watch for highs/throws. you also shouldnt be letting him get multiple lvl 3 bandit revolvers either, if you're letting him charge freely then it means he's alright caught you once or twice that round and you're talking about a more worse-case scenario. I stand by what I said though, weather the storm til he pushes himself away, if you think damage is imminent, i.e. he's got the meter/bar, thats when you start looking to FD him out, or DA him away. Also, if you're playing someone who's kinda spam happy with fafnir, watch for that instant where's he's pushed out of range to pressure you normally, you can catch a lot of HOS's here with a warrant, but its probably a better idea to start laying traps/beasts to get in his away.
  2. A ©2P thats just a little jab and a [2], 8 Rashousen that goes at an upwards angle and higher speed, FRC-able after explosion into combos.
  3. you're just mad that my bridget has beat your eddie 100% of the time
  4. me too, thats why i play him
  5. [advice] don't lose next time [/advice]
  6. learn2do damage midscreen :p, joe really stepped it up from the last time i saw him. Kinda sucks that 5P will anti air ino rushdown...
  7. 2147+ P ? thats about all there is to it really... also, there are times when you dont want to do it as fast as possible, for instance, if you ever try to zeiniest loop somebody, some characters you can only get more reps in by normal jumping then badland'ing (new word!)...its still rather quick, but the 2147 in this case may throw them too far or too low. also, thanks diver for the sideswitchin stuffs
  8. As for advice, tell that guy saying "POTEMKIN BUSTER" every 3 seconds to stfu
  9. You sound like Steve
  10. The dragonpunch one will counter pretty much anything thats not a low, projectiles, normals, w/e... but its not guaranteed like the other counters, as the opponent may be able to cancel into another move to counter the counter, or it may leave you open if you use it to eat a projectile and they hit you while you're going through the motions.
  11. 3 things off the top of my head. option one, the beast frc will push some characters into the correct range to start a badlands loop option two, hit > hit > 2D > HS EXE FRC > dash c.S > j.k > j.s > j.h > 1h BL > whatever the character will allow (another air combo or curse) option three, hit > hit > 2D > HS EXE FRC> IAD > j.h > j.d > net > land > j.h > j.d > 1h BL > curse there are more but most of em are versions of these, if you've got a lot of tension which you sometimes did, it may be worth it (or at least look cool) to do a key combo into poison/curse If i had any kind of equipment I'd post some vids, and I'm too lazy to go through youtube match vids atm.
  12. P+k+s+h > 236236+h
  13. I watched the two axle vids and the first three matches against the venom player. (I've never played a decent baiken so I don't feel like I can help much) It seems like you're comfortable playing TE which is good, and it also looked like you knew the other players better than they knew you. Two things that stuck out in my mind though. Don't jump so much. Both Axle and Venom can beat anything you can do when you're jumping on in them. Best I saw you do there was just lay a ton of nets as you backed away. But you ate a lot of the VE's 6P's and honestly I was waiting for the axle to pull you out of the sky. (You actually stayed on the ground more in the 3rd VE vid so I may be jumping ahead of myself) The other big thing was you could have done so much damage, but you never got off a midscreen combo. Generally if you landed a hit midscreen you usually went into 5H badlands, or 2D badlands. Just get the HS EXE FRC down and you could have ended a bunch of matches sooner. One FRC may sound little, but especially against that axle player, you landed so many hits that could have turned into big damage. It looked like you knew the pressure game, you just may have missed a few FRC's so I'm not gonna comment on that. But stay on the ground more when rushing in and work on the combos (FRC and TK Badlands). I gotta say you have a better eye than me for comboing off traps, I generally forget where I put shit if its not activated immediately -.-
  14. What is the general consensus on the bread and butter to know from midscreen. You want damage (potentially a knockdown) you got 25% bar to frc a beast, what are ya gonna do from midscreen when you land a hit (mix-up, cross-up, whatever...) In general, if i have the bar to not settle for 2D > curse, then I've been trying this combo: (generic starter, for example: ) 6P > 5S > 2D > H EXE FRC > IAD > j.H > j.D > net > land > (jump straight up, not forward) j.H > j.D > 1-hit BL and on some characters this will get knockdown into curse. I've found this to work on basically every character and as long as your in range to gatling into the 2D. Where-as some other stuff is difficult if you start the combo further away, or doesnt do as much damage...etc etc, but I'm very open to suggestion.
  15. Yo steve, I forgot...what did you place in melty blood at showdowns again?
  16. Woot austin for bein ahead of the pack: p.s. this game is fun... and petra is cool
  17. are there any online moves/combos/faqs? (not just videos)
  18. If I do ever get into this game, I'm really likin the looks of Petra and Clarice(Lol Remilia)
  19. just checkin around, but was looking for somethin cheap. Anyone got a hori 2, tekken 5 stick, or even a cheap(er) custom stick for sale. I'm tryin to keep this around 70$ shipping included if at all possible.
  20. you realize if they block the mix-up the opponent goes back to neutral against testament too right? Also, unlike potemkin, testament is quite often gonna invest a bit or a lot of tension into his mix-ups. With pot, its more of a luxury once they are nearby. Once again, I realize you have your choices and im not knocking them, just your wording.
  21. I'm not gonna knock your choices...just your wording... one-poke-to-knockdown-to-easy-as-hell-and-effective-mixup-that-leads-to-another-mixup this describes pot perfectly...
  22. "Playing Testa felt too easy" [so] "I switched to playing Pot"... what?
  23. Mmmmk then, about as general as questions get. What would you consider are the things that separate the scrub pot's from the good pots. I've heard him get a lot of shittalk about how you cant tell a good player from a bad player when they're playing pot. I'm not new to the game and I already know most of the combos at least, BnB's and some for when you need excess damage/have excess bar(though im still lacking quite a bit on a 100% execution rate on the multiple APB combos) but what would you tell someone to do/look for in high level potemkin play that will really set them apart?
  24. As for the 236P, if you do an action charge after the move (D while 236P) then that will show up on the input and give you an FRC opportunity. As for the momentum on the superjump, it just has to do with OS's jump, it doesnt really have that much momentum, if you're moving forward then you did it right, but he's not gonna be able to traverse the screen like anji. The best you can do is jump/superjump while running, but if you do a move beforehand then it causes OS to stop and he's not gonna be able to maintain that running speed mid-combo. One of the only exceptions that I've found though is if you RC rocket and jump after someone then you'll have a ton of momentum, but coming straight out of 5HS you wont be moving too far horizontally
  25. So is he like the asian santa clause now?
