  1. So eg. MSlide=>Harvest=>Assimilate is techable?
  2. You can tech command grabs in this game? O_o'
  3. If I want to buy UNIEL and Dark Awake from japan PSN, how many yen in PSN cards do I need and what moon runes should I look for?
  4. Chaos Breaker <3 Best not-Warhammer-but-totally-Warhammer fighting game :P Speaking of which, I finally got a PS3 and need to import UNIEL and Chaos Breaker/Dark Awake. How many PSN points/yen do I need and what moonrunes do I need to search for? Xrd will probably be a US import for me, can't read Japanese worth shit and I like understanding my menus ;__; #Europe #ProfoundSadness Chaos Breaker/Dark Awake is a great fantasy-themed fighting game with a KOF-style team setup, assists and aesthetics completely shamelessly ripped off from Warhammer Fantasy. Some mechanics that are enabled by the fantasy aesthetic like weapon clashes when two attacks meet (a key mechanic for defending yourself) and magic items that can synergize with characters. Despite the assists and magic item crazyness it's a very footsie/poking oriented game. Animation is quite good as well. The main disappointing factor is that one playable character is a dwarf riding a goddamn cannon. It's disappointing because he's unplayably bad. Netcode is horrible and the port, though it plays well, is sloppier than USF4. There's no versus mode, gotta go through the arcade => P2 challenges route. :P Here's actual footage instead of infinites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq7VWwsMF5U
  5. That online feature list. Goddamn. So much win.
  6. Nope. ArcSys does. Aksys only publishes.
  7. Dunno what it is, but I feel it's a lot easier to tell a player's style in say SF or GG than it is in KOF13. I watch KOF13 I just see moves my brain evaluates as good and bad. GG or SF I see Valle moves, Infiltration moves, Ogawa moves and so on. It's not like KOF13 characters are unexpressive so dunno what it is. Small things just stand out much more somehow.
  8. I hope they'll do it a wee bit to hedge against unexpected hiccups. Stable framerate and low lag > all.
  9. The scary thing is that previously his play somehow felt fragile. Not in any rational sense, he mauled people, but I got a feeling of him overrelying on little Eddie a bit. In yesterday's tournament that feeling was gone. No holes, no air of fragility. It's just gone. Shin Ogawa? o_o' Yes, Ogawa knows how to play Guilty Gear Kappa
  10. Faust is too boring to have a video thread Kappa
  11. Tinyurled! http://tinyurl.com/xrdata
  12. Some people just genuinely enjoy doing hard stuff. I dislike links a ton, Kayin loves hitting a bunch of hard links in a row. People are different. IMO it's a good idea to make an approachable game that's simple to start playing, that has most characters be not unnecessarily hard, and then have a handful of "Hard Mode" characters for people who just love doing difficult stuff.
  13. RIP good-looking cover for the west ;_;
  14. Ramlethal might also be a good choice. Insane space control. A good way to think of GG (and incidentally KOF13) characters in SF4 terms is (AE) Akuma, IMO. He has the tools to zone people pretty well to really really well depending on matchup, but the payoffs aren't there. Compare to Ryu whose space control is a tad worse but who is more durable and zones with 70 point fireballs and heavy buttons (70-100 damage a pop) instead of Akuma's 60 damage ground fireballs and 40 point air fireballs and light air moves. Of the two characters, Ryu is the one that is better equipped to win with damage from just zoning. Akuma has to use his tools to force the opponent into an uncomfortable position so as to create an opening, and then capitalize on that opening by landing a sweep or going in - his combo damage on standing foes is high and the vortex was scary, so that's the payoff taken care of. KOF and GG characters all want to get in and maul people, pretty much. But how they get in and maul people differs - some just go in your face, make you guess high or low until you guess wrong (Millia, basically the whole KOF13 cast), some just hammer at you until you lose your nerve and press a button while eating chip damage from their pressure strings - oh, that was a throw, sorry, I guess it's time to smash your face in (Sol, Zato). Some are like Akuma and use space control tools to force that opening from an opponent in the neutral game.
  15. Plus it kills ports or something. And input lag. Oh, and it's banned from many tournaments.
  16. I love his burst bait vs. Ogawa more than that video.
  17. That box art is ugly as hell. The faces will haunt me in my nightmares probably. The Valentine earhats also just don't fit at all. Really hope we get a different cover in the... oh, right, I live in Europe.
  18. Doesn't 4K+H give you FD instead of a kick/grab OS? Like, shouldn't it be 4K~H or something or just 6K+H? Away from game so can't test.
  19. 3S being the best SF is far from "agreed upon". There's a crapton of people who dislike the game a lot because the parry system does mean things to the fireball game many ST heads love so much. Plus there's the issue of the game having been a Chun/Yun/Ken fest in some large US tournaments which also left a sour taste in many people's mouth. There's no consensus on SF. Some hate ST counterpick circus, some hate 3S imbalance/parry, some hate SF4's ass walkspeeds and other system quirks and it's OS/setplay heavy matchflow and so on. (put me in the 3S best SF camp.)
  20. Do we have footage of her IK yet?
  21. As long as we can keep cloning Ogawa and FAB. Maybe Ogawa will learn to play GG someday :P
  22. Served atop a pancake :P
