Aah, I see. So as it is now, you have no choice but to wait a few seconds after he puts them down before even trying anything. Sounds rough.
-
What doesn't work on them that should? I'm not doubting that something is wrong, I just don't see it from that video. I only see Eltnum extending hurtboxes into webs.
-
What am I supposed to be looking at here?
-
236C seems to be faster now, is projectile invulnerable (went through Carmine 6B), hits fully even OTG, and has increased hitstun. 214C has more hitstun; point blank crossup 214B-A 214C easily combos into 236B. j.236C homes in on the opponent (to a point), no longer falls short fullscreen. j.2[C] starter leads to 2.9k from a basic combo (236B bnb followup). CH Hitstun is enourmous: On a trade with Merkava j.A, Nanase just fell to the ground, teched, and picked up the combo with 2C. Finally, either 214B's hitbox was buffed, or Merkava's jump hurtbox is gigantic: round start upback from Merkava was caught by it.

There was a byakuya on stream earlier who was using those feints. They seemed really strong in the corner. In fact Byakuya in general seems very powerful in UNIST.
-
I've watched some more footage after the stream. Lantern's speed is indeed a bit faster, but it seemed to take longer to start falling. I could be wrong about it, it just seemed overall about the same final speed. Too bad the guy didn't play more and got Gordeau'd hard (he's still good, btw), I wanted to see the invuln in action on her moves.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but no, 2A is not a low; Eltnum tried to grab right before she got hit by 2A
-
What little I could get from the stream: Nanase's throw damage was increased to 1640. The second hit of j.BB's damage was increased. j.2[C]'s hitbox is noticeably bigger than j.2C's. When Eltnum backteched and Nanase ended up assaulting in place with j.2[C] for oki, it still caught her. It seems to be very + on block, and charges quick enough to land from a regular assault. On hit, it bounces the opponent off the ground much like Eltnum's 6, and combos perfectly from j.[C]. It'll be interesting to see if j.2[C] j.236B becomes the new go-to ender for combos. The bounce and quick charge make it seem like it'll open up a lot of new combo routes, since it might connect to air projectiles. Something like *stuff* j.2[C] > j.236B > j.5[C] > j.2[C] > j.236B, or just j.2[C] > tk j.236A > 3C etc. The changes for Nanase seem fairly tame and although it's all buffs and good stuff, there's nothing too exciting besides j.2[C]. That move is the shiny new toy to play with. The rest is polish. I feel like whether Nanase will remain low/mid tier or becomes a much better character will depend on what we can squeeze out of this seemingly really strong tool.

Can someone confirm if that is happening or not? -
There is a community that still stupport this game, and the netcode is great, but if you think 15 people online is "abandoned", you will not like the activity in UNIEL. While it's easy to ask in facebook groups/skype/whatever for games and people to play, if you just hop on netplay at any random time and expect there to be several rooms open to choose from, you will be disappointed.

Does this game teach you how to play it?

The release date for arcades is the 23rd this month. We don't know when it'll come to consoles. Probably a few months. It's true that the range of moves in this game is gigantic compared to most other fighters. Blocking is also very strong comparatively. Those moves work very well within the rules of the game though. The resulting strong accent on zoning and spacing, as well as fair mixups and footsies is what makes it appealing, imo. -

"Everything's overpowered" is not a phrase I would use to describe UNIEL. If anything, it focuses on fairness and solid play. Guilty Gear is a more appropriate candidate for that. -
Hypothetically, even if they did a perfect balancing job and every character was just as good as the next, playing Seth would feel a lot better than Gordeau, since even though they would be equally good, one would feel like a strong, superior version of what you're already used to, while the other just feels worse.

What area are you from? -
He does not have command grabs, they're all hitgrabs. His 236C is his only real reversal, and that loses invuln on the first active frame, so if you do meaty 66C on his wakeup, it will always trade in your favor. Merkava does have an edge in neutral, but it's not that bad. Gordeau has him beat in damage, and has better mixup. GR is an invaluable tool here.
-
Can I ask about this? Cuz 236 having projectile invincibility sounds not only hilariously OP, but it has also never had it before, so "still has" has me confused.
-
What's Ex Aiming? I thought was Gordeau's 22A.
-
Wait what? Hold on, I'm not involved in what Blade brought up. That's an entirely different thing.
-
It's unpleasant because it's patronizing.

Someone asked me if I planned on going to Canada Cup this year. Is this something you guys usually attend? -
I don't know if you guys have a different changelist than the one I'm looking at, but nothing in there indicates that she'll be a "completely different character". As far as I can tell, they made her stance easier to use, reduced her damage, and increased recovery on one special that's mostly a combo tool. Also her counter, a seldom used move in the first place, is a bit worse. This makes Yuzuriha completely different? It sounds to me like as far as playstyle goes, she'll be exactly the same, just a bit less powerful. Yes, some of the changes raise an eyebrow (4B counter window shortened? Really? THAT was a problem?), and nerfing a mid-tier character like Yuzu when Vatista and Waldstein are largely untouched, if not buffed, seems uncalled for. But it doesn't seem that bad at all. Some of those changes make sense (damage, 214X).
