  1. The square system is pretty useless. I played Pink squares that were not very skilled then sent rage mail. I tend to flip-flop between Yellow and Orange square. I don't understand how I'll go on a 15 game win streak against people higher square than I but don't rank up. Lol How does the square system rank up/down anyways? Seems random unless I'm missing something.
  2. Anyone here play Japanese version? Always looking for people to play with. Lag is killer. Lol
  3. Anytime a new fighter comes out, I play around with the entire cast and see who I'm comfy with. Though, like others said, be sure to try challenge mode for some characters and see who feels right to you then when you get comfortable and have the basics to that character, head into training mode and come up with some combo ideas or learn combos from videos. 4. Hi guys. How have you all been? Sorry for my lack of activity. School finally finishing up with a bunch of assignments and all but at least that means that I won't have anything holding me back from attending any events besides work. Lol I'm so sorry to hear that Antiquarian. I send my best wishes to your grandmother. If times get rough, you know we'll all be here for you.
  5. I haven't been to any majors. I was going to go to Winter Brawl but I didn't feel confident in my skill level at that time. School was really killing me at that point. I played alot of people who compete in majors though but that's about it. I will probably will be only be able to attend tournaments in Philly, New Jersey, and New York. As a student saving up for a car and a new PC for design classes, I am unable to travel further than that. The only majors in those areas are Winter Brawl, Summer Jam, and Defend the North, right?
  6. Also, Anyone planning on going to Summer Jam this year?
  7. I'll try to go to. I kinda feel bad because I wanted to go to the past 2 but stuff came up. I really want to go to this and @LambdaNu, If no one offers a ride, I might be able to get you one but I'm not sure yet because of my parent's schedule and all that. >.>
  8. Also, I should be able to go tomorrow. I was planning to take a lady on a date but... So it really depends if I can get a ride now.
  9. I play Skullgirls (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) and Guilty Gear (PS3 and Xbox 360). I prefer on PS3 but if you want to play Xbox for some matches, I would be more than glad to! LambdaNu was kinda enough to gift me PC version awhile ago~ Ah, UMvC3... I used to play it alot but kinda stopped... But I want to get back into it!
  10. Like everyone else is saying, training mode is a great tool when you utilize it. Practice is very important. Fighting games are hard to fully master especially Blazblue in my opinion. You just got to keep at it. As for learning how to block certain mix-ups, I usually try to learn that mix-up with that character even I don't main them... Why? I record the dummy actions and play them back against me. Lol It really helped me get better and confident in terms of defense. For combos, it depends on how much dedication you put into learning them. I wish you luck! You will improve!
  11. I can maybe do Thursday but can do Friday for sure. Also, I'm guessing everyone here loves Arcana Heart? I guess I'll pick it up when I get the chance and try it out. Won't be able to now since I just bought Puyo Puyo Tetris.
  12. When do you guys think will meet up again? I got nothing on my schedule the next 2 weeks (Besides school of course)
  13. I recently started playing again on a stick after about 3 years after not using one. Lol Using Arcade stick may seem daunting at first and a little uncomfortable but it will feel very nice after spending some time with it. You will also notice that certain inputs seem alot easier (Or maybe it was just me). I think the player should play a somewhat simple game, something like P4A or Jojo ASB, to get used to the stick since they don't require strict timing with the exception of a few characters. You can easily get adjusted to the buttons without overwhelming yourself. Also, For me, I find it alot easier to block on stick. When I played on pad (DualShock 3), I would always mess up blockstrings because I could not tell if I was pressing or not. It looked like I was inputting but truly I was pressing . Of course, That's just a habit. However, on stick, My defense got so much better. Arcade stick is worth the investment for sure .(Especially the HORI Fighting Edge) Good Luck~
  14. I don't think I will be arriving sadly... but have fun!. As for the Daytona USA thing (Assuming you guys weren't just joking), Couldn't you just play PS3/Xbox version (Assuming there is internet access) and make accounts just to play on PSN/XBLA? I think Xbox version would be more easier to set up since I think you can copy the game to USB drive and move it to each Xbox. It's more complicated but better than investing 1,000$ on a Sega Saturn copy. Lol Heck, if we all chipped in, We could buy a 2-3 person Arcade cabinet for Daytona.
