  1. I don't really know as I play Ky and not Sol but from the ones I fought, if at a distance when doing the dragon install version, it's safe but if they jump, get up close and only the last few frames of the overdrive hits on block, then you can be punished. The netcode is very solid. I usually only get 4-5 frame delay against Japan (From east coast). It's alot better than BBCP's netcode in my opinion but that doesn't mean GGxrd netcode is flawless. It has it's ups and downs but when you compare it to other fighters, it's pretty good netcode.
  2. The giant punch thing? Very punishable on block. Even more punishable on netplay sometimes. Lol
  3. As Akipot said, You can but it's better to save the meter for RCs. In GG, Any slip up can leave you wide open to massive damage. Using the RC to escape or gain your space is better. Also, I honestly never use my overdrive unless if I want to get in or if the opponent is low on health during a combo. (Ky player here.) It's much better to save for RCs to extend combos or when you catch yourself mess up.
  4. I'm willing to help anyone in GG, BB, P4U2, UNiEL, or DFC. :3
  5. I wouldn't necessarily say the gameplay is the same as BB but kinda similar but not alot so you should be able to hop in and learn Guilty Gear's functions. Guilty Gear is more fun in my opinion and has alot more mechanics wise.
  6. Thank you Kyosuke. Much appreciated
  7. Border Break wouldn't be too bad. It looked cool from the book that came with VO4. Is it like Virtual-On at least?
  8. Signed up for the netplay tournament. I think it would have been better on a Friday-Saturday for alot but I can tolerate it. Lol
  9. It's not that people aren't able to hear the music. The quality just isn't super great on PS3 version. It sorta sounds like one of those medium quality arcade rips when the game first came out in arcades but a tiny bit more clear. Only a tiny bit though.
  10. Hi! If you are looking to boost trophies for games, I recommend going to playstationtrophies.org or psnprofiles and setting up a session request for the trophies you need in each BB. Dustloop is a really uncommon place for trophy hunting as far as I know
  11. Losing streak against one person? About 35 losses in BBCS:EX. Against different players was about 7-8 from what I remember. Don't know what game though
  12. Alright! Thank you. It would be very appreciated.
  13. I think he just means just winning normally. It's usually obvious when you lose due to delay but if that is your problem SirBumbleBee, what Mr.Psilocybe is commonly done to have a better online experience in terms of the quality of the matches. (I haven't tried it myself though)
  14. Hi there! first off, welcome to the Dustloop community! I hope you enjoy your time here! Now speaking of the roadblock you are encountering, It happens to majority of players starting out and there is no need to feel ashamed of it. Like you said, you are a "novice" player. You are not going to become top level within a week of playing or even a month of playing. As many will probably tell you, This genre requires you to spend a decent amount of time with the game, experiment with things and do research which is all very true. Training and learning your character inside and out is very important to get the most use of your character in matches but the 80% time spent training mode statement is not very true. It's not the time you spend in training mode but the quality of what you learn or discover. After you feel comfortable with your character, you start playing matches and have trouble with certain match-ups. Some match-ups are easy to learn while some are rather daunting. You'll adapt as you play and learn how to deal with certain situations. However, there will sometimes be times where you can't figure it out by yourself. This is when you go on YouTube and observe some matches or ask someone here to see if they can give you some assistance. Training mode will always be used frequently to test what you learned to get comfortable before going into actual matches. In all, indeed it is mostly spending time with the game but it is also how you utilize your time and actually learn. I hope this helps abit and best of luck learning GGxrd!
  15. Does the HRAPv4 have the gold USB like the fighting edge?
  16. Because he just stumbled across it randomly from what he said and probably doesn't know the link. Lol So I'll try to find it for everyone unless someone else beats me to finding it or provides the lyrics on their own. I'll be sure to ask him next time I see him around though.
  17. It seems VOOT and OMG tournaments are becoming more common in Mikado. Think people are preparing for anniversary announcement hoping it's a new VO?
  18. That made me die. Lol The most recent one I got was from UNiEL. I'm a Carmine player and someone sent me: "God damn. You spam his 6B blood like a girl on her period. Scrub"
  19. May I have the link for the Philly FGC Facebook group please. Lol
  20. It doesn't have to be match point. I also think it has to deal with the amount of damage done to Ky within a certain time window before he gets hit with a sweep (Ky player here. Lol) Also, I heard the lyrics for all the vocal tracks was on a Japanese GGxrd wiki from a friend. I'll post a link if I ever find it.
  21. I was goofing around with this alot in training mode and it seemed cool to use and possibly practical so I used it in a couple of matches and it worked a good bit from the 4 matches I played. Lol It's a jump in combo that requires no meter and you can eat, at a very good spot for fireball okizeme, or 214S afterwards. The main thing with is the spacing for 236236P. It's not to close to not get all hits or not to far where they can jump out without being worried. When you eat, you don't necissarily gain any protein. You get what you started the combo with afterwards so really it's just to get okizeme or corner carry. j.S>j.214S>| j.S>jc>j.S>j.HS>j.236HS It might be just a meh combo as I main Ky and not Sin but I thought I might share as I found the positioning and success for the okizeme after j.236HS effective and common.
  22. Good games to Solshido. Apoligies to Yuki-des. I think I need to re-install the install data again.
  23. It's very nice that you consider others matches in the room especially notifying when you plan on disbanding. I respect that alot actually. However as host and the fact you give them notice and they still play, just disband. Like others are saying, at least one person will make a room so no one is really hurt by it
  24. They really bitcrushed the quality of the music for the PS3 version. It uses really low quality mp3. files on PS3. High quality probably wouldn't fit.
  25. I saw a Asuna and Izaya working together well in a couple of match vids. Though I don't really know the character that well nor the assist. From what I could tell, Izaya/Asuna combo is only good when you can make spot on reads but like I said, I lack knowledge on those two. Wish I could help more. but I do indeed see Asuna/Izaya effective sometimes. Celty is pretty solid for majority of the cast.
