I'm still gonna play this character for his post win trash talk, but holy hell every battle seems so uphill with the big hurtbox, awkward movement and slowness. Maybe it's because this is my first Guilty Gear game and I know little to nothing and need more practice. Maybe I'm just not using his normals correctly. Maybe it's because I'm using the PS4 pad and my six button face pad hasn't arrived yet. I can NEVER seem to get a wakeup clock overdrive and just get rushed down to death.... I should probably pick up a less awkward sub for a beginner like myself, but shit man, I wanna fight with a dude that uses a bed as a weapon! :P

Ok, I'll mess with the air stop a little more when I get home, thanks man. And 886 > JK >JS is great, I just learned this yesterday in training :D This is also probably known but the second JK in a head hitting jump in JK > JS > 6 > JK is a nasty instant overhead if they aren't mashing. Looking forward to more tips and more of this game with this character!

Are you guys sure? The "air-stop" I've been accidently experiencing lasts longer than the air stop with 8 > (air stop) > direction... Maybe I just tossed out a Task A and didn't notice, I'll try when I get home, and thanks for the answers. I like the Dr. Doom similarity though. He does move rather clunky.

Hori Fighting Commander 4 Pro is available and works for both PS3 and PS4, but NOTHING beats a Sega Saturn pad. Really wish it worked on PS4...
-
The absolute best pad I've used for PS3 fighters is the Sega Saturn USB pad. Too bad it doesn't work for PS4 without a Cronus device... I've ordered the Hori Fighting Commander Pro 4 so I hope that'll suffice until some company can replicate a good Saturn pad for PS4... The GGXrd pad is pretty much a Saturn replica, but as what's been stated already, I hear it's cheap and breaks within hours of play. I would've bought one for sure if it had better reviews.

Does Bedman have a move that's not listed? It seems like I can somehow accidentally get him to float in one place for an extended period of time, with steam coming out from the bottom of his bed during an airjump. Or am I just on drugs? Probably drugs.

I've only played about 20 matches, and I've been playing on PS4 using Bedman if that means anything, but the connections seem similar to BBCP to me. Pretty good so far with 2-5 frame listed, and feels much better than UMvC3. I've been able to do some ok movement/combos (Bedman is so fucking awkward and slow, but fun) but holy hell is the PS4 pad holding me back . Waiting for the Hori Fight Commander Pro pad to be delivered from play-asia...

[Xrd] News & (Theoretical) Gameplay Discussion
Alkipot replied to Shinjin's topic in Guilty Gear General
To any Canadians looking for Xrd, don't bother, as no stores (at least to my knowledge) have it in stock. One particular EB games told me they wouldn't have it 'til March. MARCH FFS. Just use your credit card/buy some PSN gift cards and download digitally. I've grown far too sick of waiting. -

So, Canada is having issues with Xrd eh? Fuck. I'm gonna have to look around Toronto and hope someplace has it coming in. May have to do the digital thing, so a couple of quick questions for those who know: Can you use NA playstation cash cards to pay for HK/JP purchases? Will this game be released digitally in NA? -

I'm not exactly sure what a new player learns when he goes from full health to zero in a matter of seconds, hell, it's more discouraging than anything. It's much better for him to play someone closer to their level or slightly better, not worlds apart. Learn from a closer skilled person (since you'll be able to actually play the game and figure out your buttons) and as you get better move up from there, until you're ready to play the guy who does nothing but play and has a 20000-50 record. Is it even all that fun for the guy giving the asskicking to the totally inexperienced player? When it comes to me, if I play an obviously new and learning player in a fighter I'm experienced with, it isn't much fun on my end just plowing through them because they don't know the game mechanics/their character etc. That's like taking an interest in MMA, but instead of having your first couple of sparring sessions, learning BJJ/wrestsling/boxing etc, it's now 'fuck it, fighting Jon Jones immediately is way better than actually practicing with training partners and gaining familiarity!' If any new player is cool never landing a hit and getting a chance to play, hoping to learn that way, fine. Just don't act like that's the best way to learn how to play. -
PSN: Alkipot Waiting for NA release and this will be the first Guilty Gear game I ever played so please use Vaseline when beating on me. Hopefully playing Bullet in BBCP and Rise in P4AU will translate somehow. Looking to try I-No, Bedman and Potemkin.

Thanks man, I had the HFC3, a little clunky but I think I can make it work. Worked pretty nicely for Injustice, at least. -

If this question has been answered already I apologize, but I gotta know: Will the PS4 be getting a six button pad anytime soon? I still have and actively use a Sega Saturn pad for fighters, and the PS4 controller is a no can do for fighters for me. I haven't used a stick since arcades were popular. I'm old. I still have my PS3 but I'd rather go with the "best" version of this game. I hear there are converters but my Saturn pad seems to be crapping out slowly and I don't wanna waste the money if it's on its last legs... but shit, I might just have to... -
Here's the thing, I love anime. I usually watch movies/episodes with subs, but when it comes to something interactive, I'd much prefer English. I just don't think everything from Japan is God's gift to the world and everyone in Japan shits rainbows and gold sparkles like the weeb population does. I've read posts where guys were like "sadly there's English in this game", like everyone in the western hemisphere reads/writes/speaks/worships Japanese and plugs their ears screaming "LALALALALA!! NO JP I CAN'T HEAR YOUUUU!!!" at English dubs. Being that guy IMO is waaaaay worse than the guy who's cool with English dubs. Silly me for wanting to play a game in a language I can understand.

New to Blazblue (just about 2 months) and loving Bullet, finally fixed my broken pad and am now experimenting with Bullet's buffed super grab. Kinda figured out a setup if people haven't been using it already. Feel free to send me any tips. Other fighting games on my youtube as well if interested. Bullet vs. Rachel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfi52VDhmLU&list=UUQ003begP3fMBY-cS__tIsg Bullet vs. Hakumen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkiUn7K9kRA&list=UUQ003begP3fMBY-cS__tIsg Hakumen gives me problems trying to anti air, any advice is appreciated.

Then why play a second game if the lag was so bad? Why ragequit only when I was beating you down that game? Plus you were using MU who has like a billion advantages over Bullet (not the issue, just a point). I've seen you typing in the lobbies before complaining and throwing hissy fits when you lose, so I'm not too surprised. Even when I run into a laggy match I don't dashboard, I just hold forward or stop playing to throw the match and move on to the next. I don't play them a second time to enhance any prior frustration... Fact is you did ragequit. Obviously you don't lose anything in a lobby. Hell, you don't really lose anything in a ranked match either because at the end of the day these are just video games. Just thought it was funny that you quit only after you started losing.

Some familiar names here... My pet peeve is when someone beats you one game, then play you a second game and ragequit as soon as they start getting their ass handed to them, and send you "oh, it was laggy and you're garbage". Oh, so it isn't laggy when you're winning, right? Happen to be talking about someone in this very thread, but I won't put them out there because a million white knights'll get all riled up to defend this person since I'm a new poster. Shoot, I'm only a month into Blazblue (and loving it) and I have people who've probably been playing for years raging on me, hell even when I lose I get hatemail, and I play BULLET ffs...
