I'm happy with my WWE-Brawlstick that I modded with all Sanwa parts and got a new decal for. Until that thing breaks down (which I hope is never), the final cost of $90 is all I'm going to invest into fightsticks. Also this one is shaped really weird. Not sure whether having it on your lap would be more comfortable or way less comfortable.

After watching a handful of Ky videos, I feel like grinders need to be buffed to stay on screen an extra second.

Is it worth it to try and play this game online (because I can't wait for Xrd) from Hawaii? So far my experiences with randoms has been godawful. P4A was rather manageable and Skullgirls' GGPO actually gave me some really good online matches. But is it worth seeking out people to play with for +R if I'm 4000 kilometers from the nearest coast? Edit: Played some people in chat. Nobody will be FRCing but gameplay is do-able for the most part. So add me peeps.

So I'm not familiar with TGS at all. Are we to expect for the gameplay videos to be streamed or are they just going to be uploaded to YT (or first a Japanese video site and then ripped to YT) at a later date?

Happy fans? Interest in a game that's polished to suit the players? Support via vocal and critical praise (or at the very least lack of complaints)? But nah, what company cares about it's fanbase, amirite? (But no seriously I really want respectable practices for the future.)

Look at how much Sol just wants to stroke that shaft. He can't contain the hype. I've had this game fully paid for since fucking May. You really love that patronizing tone don't you? It's getting old. Right. So a person is gonna cancel their pre-order because a person with, what, like 35 posts on this forum really doesn't like a boob window on one character? And as for the story, it's a FIGHTING game. I mean c'mon - are you really going to say me personally disliking the story modes in past GG games is going to dissuade some person who frequents non-casual FG forums from buying Xrd? Seriously? (The psyduck is there just because I like that we have a psyduck emoticon.)

My incentive to get the game early is that I really want to play the game as soon as possible. Because the game looks good. The incentive should be that the product you want is a product that's worth wanting, not that they are holding a character hostage. The first-order crap just pisses me off. This is without even worrying about how bad this DLC management may become in the future. Give me a Sol sword lighter/keychain/whatever as a pre-order bonus and that'd make me actually somewhat happy to walk into a Gamestop for once.

I would compile all my posts from this forum and group them into easily crunchable data for you on what was a complaint and what wasn't... but you're really not worth the trouble, and you'd find any excuse to disagree with any reality that pertains to me anyway. SoWL, nah it's quite literally just the boob window on El that irks me. As long as I can color swap her to green (I guess blue would suffice but there better be green) I'm mostly good. And I can't really think of a character in GG where I dislike every single part of the design. There's some that as a whole I'm neutral too but don't actively dislike. Anyway I just really wanted to clarify I'm not dismissing the entire design. And I also do like Ram, though her coat and swords carry the vast majority of that like. As for my question about those tourney vids... seems like they aren't up anywhere like YT yet?

El's detailed design is still very much news and is still very much sinking in, and as such is very open to discussion. Since we just got some more info on her attack designs and personality traits (and some people saw her for the first time quite recently), there is no reason discussing her should be barred. If you don't like it you should be the one leaving. But hey, go ahead and focus on those few select sentences in my posts that mention past characters, despite it being in direct relation to discussion on El. Policing people for negative reactions isn't your department, and you aren't the only member on this board. Just appreciate what you get (i.e. focus on the posts you DO like, not the ones you don't). (^Man, does that come off as condescending even when I don't actually mean it.)

So.... I can't speak for others over the past dozen pages, but if this is in regards to me... I'm fairly confident you're building a big 'ol strawman and I don't appreciate it. Please cite where I (or somebody) said the character is "nothing but fanservice". I have said that there is no point to the boob window except fanservice. Last I checked El was a human and not a pair of tits that can fight. "soured by fanservice elements" does NOT equate to "there nothing to the character's design but fanservice" I'm not even sure if it's possible to create a design that is literally nothing but fanservice. But I'm not taking your statement literally. I am taking it as a strawman though. I've actually written twice already on the topic of El that for the most part I like her design apart from the boob window. I've acknowledged the rest of the design elements and given them praise (I'm not crazy over it, but hey, it reminds me a little bit of an Annie Oakley/Wild Guns vibe, and I can dig that). I am so lost as to where you're pulling this "nothing but fanservice" card from. This isn't an "all or nothing" case. Though if you cite an example I'll eat my words and apologize. And even if Ishiwatari specifically comes out and makes an essay-long explanation as to why he cut a hole into El's dress around her breasts, that will change absolutely nothing. Hell, if El is written to have a line where she says something like "This dress exposes my breasts because it makes me look more feminine and makes love easier to find" I'm going to be facepalming EXTRA hard. Because at that point you're not just compromising the integrity of the design, you're compromising the integrity of the entire character. (But seeing as how ABA's story is pretty much "I wanna marry this man, rargh you can't have my man!" and S-ko does more or less the same thing, such stupidity on the part of the writing/creation staff wouldn't surprise me. [i don't think I'll ever stop being butthurt over ABA because I like her design and love her playstyle so much that when I finally decided, what the hell, and played her story mode it fucking destroyed me.])

Let's just give May a boob window too! And Jam! Hell, give Bridget a damn boob window. Hell, go Ram on them and remove 80% of their existing clothes altogether because why not? More horny teens may buy the game. That's essentially the complaint. There is nothing to El's character that emphasizes the need for awkwardly-designed cleavage. And boob windows in general make very little sense outside super quirky lingerie or an equivalent costume. I-no's character matches her clothes; the design fits and makes sense beyond just being fap material. El's really doesn't; and hell, they even give you a downblouse-style cleavage shot during her super or dust to boot. It just screams of throwing your own character under the bus for the sake of some superficial fanservice. I just want a cohesive design (with some form of balance in regards to character types). If the character is going to be provocative/flirtatious/seductive/promiscuous, sure, make their design as revealing as I-no's. Makes sense. I'm also okay with lots of skin if they are wearing a very sporty outfit because they are an outdoors-y physical fitness type of person (but then most games tag on underboob to these female characters which makes no fucking sense in any context outside lingerie or an equivalent, and again is for the pure purpose of fanservicing tweens). I feel like Millia and May are both really good designs that make sense for the characters. (I loathe how May's [and ABA's, and S-ko's] personality revolve pretty much entirely around getting a man not interested in them to notice them, but I largely ignore GG's story altogether and that's beside the point.) The fact that El and Ram both have rather strange design choices that are clearly for tween-fanservice purposes makes me a bit worried for future female characters for GG; I'm just hoping they can be lumped with Dizzy as those several designs that got soured by fanservice elements rather than a new trend of every female being some otaku's idol-thing. Now complaints aide, El's playstyle looks really cool! I too can't wait 'til TGS. Also, are the videos of the recent Japanese tournament out yet on something that doesn't force me to pay and subscribe to see them?

Cool, just wanted to confirm my experience was typical. I've kept my interest in Melee. That's it though; Melee and GG are the only two games I want to continue playing. And Melee I only play when a local fest is happening. Melee is so drastically different an experience from everything else (and has more tech to it than my hands can handle) that GG didn't manage to completely override it like it did to all the other 2D fighters I was dabbling in before. If Xrd's online is solid (can't even imagine how hype I would be if the online ends up being great), GG will probably not only override the other fighters I've played, but all other video games altogether.

Here's a question, how do people go back to other fighters after playing GG? I was liking Persona a decent amount, but after getting heavily into GG I now have zero urge to ever touch it again. Is this normal?

Are you perhaps trapped in the last century when bigotry was generally acceptable? She comes across as having a southern belle vibe but her outfit clothes her entire arms and even hands and goes up all the way to her neck. And then somebody decided "Hey, let's just photoshop Ino's boobs on top of the dress." It looks friggin atrocious. I'd be fine if they just gave her a dress that shows cleavage because the front of the dress ends below the clavicle or whatever. But this... this just screams like they thought the design was a little boring and wanted to scream and shout to draw in the 14 year old ecchi-anime lovers. Ino can have a revealing outfit because she comes off as that kind of character. El... I don't know what the hell El is supposed to be like to wear that outfit; it screams appeal to nerds over appeal to creating an actual character. So yeah, I got major problems with the boob window as a design choice. I think I read somewhere her character controls the movement of the crosshairs? Is that correct? That sounds like it would be hard to balance honestly. I feel like she would end up either high tier or low tier but not in-between. Though maybe it's not as hard of a gimmick to tune for a fighting game as I think it is.

It's related to the news. Fuck that stupid-ass boob window, not only is it ridiculous in general, but it's especially ridiculous with the rest of her design. That's quite literally my only problem with her.
