Platinum is a scrub character? While she has some easy to pull off combos, she's kind of difficult to use correctly due to her random items.

Decided that Chaos will be my main in UNIEL, since he's most similar to Carl, just more low tier. Is the basic gameplay plan the same with Chaos, that is to say, get the opponent sandwiched between you and his lizard to obtain maximum damage?

[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread
JyakotuKurayami replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Celica A. Mercury
I don't see what's wrong with Celica being an easy to use character. She's even really fighting, as Minevra is really doing all the work. But my guess is that Celica will probably have Carl/Tao health, or even lower. Being a healer with a healing distortion, it wouldn't surprise me if she has 9000 health. -
So after reading how many of the characters play, I've decided that Chaos is going to be my main. He's basically a Carl Clover type character, which I enjoy playing.

BBCP2, Celica and Lambda Hype Thread
JyakotuKurayami replied to mAc Chaos's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
I wasn't even going to pick up Celica, but now I might just have to, since she gets a lot of hate. Add to the fact that she's a beginner character, beating people with her would be oh so sastifying in a match. Also, I am very excited that Lambda is back, because her gag reel in CS2/EX made me love the character even more. What I'm thinking for Lambda is that her swords will allow her to rush the opponent down easily while still allowing her to zone effectively. And like everyone else, I am hoping that she gets a different Astal and some new Distrotions. -
I long the day when I can do Carl Clover combos. Alas, I can't even do the most basic Carl + Ada combos. I think my problem is being able to still attack while holding down the D button to keep Ada active so that she can attack near the end. I figure it's easier to do it on an arcade stick instead of a game pad.

[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread
JyakotuKurayami replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Celica A. Mercury
Haha, we all had to start somewhere. When I first played BB, it happened to be an import of CP some friends of mine at university had. They said to pick Noel, since she's for beginners and to just press D (X button) and the other buttons. I actually did win a couple of matches and felt like I was doing something. Lol -

So Celica and Minevra are basically one character with two sprites with a similar fighting style to Noel. From reading about her Drive, her combos would probably be easy to do. Another character that you can abuse their easy stuff with, but hard to master. -
BBCP2, Celica and Lambda Hype Thread
JyakotuKurayami replied to mAc Chaos's topic in BlazBlue Gameplay
Looking at in-game footage of Celica, it makes sense when they said that she and Minevra play in unison. You're essentially controlling ONE character with two sprites on screen. So while Celica has a puppet, she plays nothing like Carl or Relius, because they both move together and attack together. Interesting. -
[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread

Looking at the current character select screen, it looks like they could add two more characters on each side of Terumi. If ArcSys does release a CP Extend, I would hope it would include more than just the Vita content and Celica and Lambda. At any rate, I'm ready to see some gameplay of Celica so I can see how she plays. -
Would really like Shadow Kanji to be part of the voice navigators. Out of all the Shadow characters, he's my favorite for obvious reasons. I can only imagine what his commentary would be like during fights. Lol

When I transferred to my current university, I found a group of people who played various video games. One of the games I got introduced to was BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma. Now, these people were already friends since freshman year and many of the people who played primarily fighting games have played BB since the CT days. So when I first played, they advised that I play with characters like Noel or Jin because they were made for beginners. However, I remember someone saying that nobody plays Carl. Thus, me being the person I am, I picked up Carl Clover and stuck with him ever since. Granted, I'm not really GOOD with Carl, but I'm decent enough to hold my own in a match. Plus, I like the love the character has for his sister, because it reminds me of the love I have for my sister. That, and we both don't have the best relationship with our fathers. Lol

From what I gathered of what gameplay I saw of Ken/Koro, it would appear that they play more similar to Relius Clover. You can summon Koro in and out of the battlefield, which seems interesting. However, Koro seems to be used to help you get in. But Ken has some decent range with his normals, due to the length of his spear. I can't wait to get my hands on P4AU so that I can try out them out. I doubt I'll be using the Shadow versions of any characters, tbh. But I'll experiment with them due to their high risk, high reward.

I'm also a member on FreeStepDodge (FSD), so of course I had to make a post in the DOA5 thread. Eliot main, Ayane sub. Also use various characters, including Brad Wong, Tina Armstrong, Lisa Hamilton/La Mariposa, Jacky Bryant, and Ein. DOA5U is currently my most played fighting game at the moment. Love the mechanics and it's beautiful to boot.

Glad to know Tekken 7 is going to be a reality. As long as it doesn't take a cue from Tekken Revolution, I'm all for the next generation of Tekken. One thing I wish they'd get rid of are bounds. In Tekken 6, bounds are really not all that useful. They're more useful in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 because of Tag Assault combos. In my ideal world, Tekken 7 would play like an evolved Tekken 4, my favorite in the series.

[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread
JyakotuKurayami replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Celica A. Mercury
As a Carl Clover main, I am excited to learn that Celica will have Ex Machina: Minevra fight along side her. Though, I can't say that I'll pick her up as a sub, since Carl is hard to use but yields a higher reward. She'll probably have lower health, since she is a healer. I like the idea that everyone is throwing around: Minevra being the one you control while Celica is the one moving about the stage performing silly/cute animations. Though with that screenshot of the 2A, it is obviously Celica performing the normal. She's supposedly "easy to use", so it'll be interesting to see what an easy to use puppet user would play like. -
[CP1.1] Tsubaki Yayoi General - Gameplay Discussion
JyakotuKurayami replied to pktazn's topic in Archive
I've been learning Tsubaki, mainly because I needed an easy to use character to add to my BB army. She's a lot of fun, but she does have a bunch of difficult match ups. I think the reason why I like her is because she has the meter management gimmick. As for being a rushdown character, she's very subpar, but I love her for whatever reason. Still, I find it difficult to mix up with her and it's even harder to get in with her. A lot of people know how to block her attacks. I really wish some of her specials didn't lose their A/B/C variants. -
I first happened upon playing BlazBlue at my university when I found a group of people who played video games. Many of them already knew each other and already played BlazBlue prior to me coming to the location in which they played video games at (I'm a transfer student there, but graduate in 2015). Anyway, I remember one of them mentioning that nobody uses Carl in that setting, so I took it upon myself to be the sole Carl Clover user. I don't regret the decision because Carl Clover, although hard to use, is pretty fun and I've improved a lot. As I started to branch out for subs, I noticed that I seemed to pick characters who were very difficult or very technical to use. It's probably why I decided to also branch out to the more easier to use characters as well.

Hello Dustloop! My name is JyakotuKurayami, but y'all can just call him Jya or JK if you can't pronounce my username. I'm relatively new to the anime fighting game subgenre, as I'm mainly a 3D fighting game player. However, BlazBlue CP was my frist introduction to the genre and I've even branched off to GG and P4A, so I guess I'm part of the GG/BB/P4A anime group. BBCP is my most played game, but I also love P4A and egarly await P4AU. All my mains and subs are in my signature. I've been playing fighting games for awhile, so I've adjusted to anime rather quickly. Well, that's my introduction and I look forward to furthering advancing my BB and P4A. Nice to meet you all.
