  1. I couldn't make it last year due to personal conflicts, but this year I'll definitely try my hardest to make it. I'm up for Guilty Gear, maybe Blazblue.
  2. The femHaz looks really good with the red lines and no shading, since the red complements the yellow and other colors and still works with the green snake. Basically what I'm saying is good job.
  3. Here, this might prove useful:
  4. Try out the NullDC zaex: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?9940-GGXX-Accent-Core-now-%28actually%29-playable-online! Note, it might not run on all computers, I know some friends have issues with their processor or their computer just can't run it well. Still, if you can, there's some online for you.
  5. I know this might be closer to a general "guilty gear mechanics" question, but how the hell do I link j.H x 3 into j.S in Jam's dust combo? Most of the time I just hold 8 or 9 after my 5D, then mash H until I get the three hits. Every once in a while I seem to be able to get the j.S but a majority of the time it just doesn't come out. So I know it's there I just can't get it consistent.

  7. HOLY SHIT I didn't see my present in IRC Dat Jam ;-; Also glad to see you're finally starting to try coloring!
  8. Nain I hope you dont' mind but I'm going to use your drawings of Sol for reference now. They're just too awesome ;-;
  9. It's the boob envy. Also while we're on the topic, how viable is just grabbing Noel during her drive strings? IB a starter, then grab the bitch for a counter? Probably wouldn't work versus 4D because of the backstep but other stuff why not?
  10. Thanks Wirya. I figured the best color scheme is no color scheme on this one :V
  11. Hey that's not all I'm drawing even if I've gotten better at it; now I'm drawing dat angel http://i.imgur.com/lBOpe.jpg WIP, still not sure on color scheme.
  12. I doodled me a picture
  13. And now on the complete opposite of the spectrum: a doodle I did because I was bored and Luna was sad that there was so much huge-titted Noel fanart:
  14. Pretty much this. Even right now the colors are still beautiful ;-;
  15. Kinda hard to draw when you're blind yo.
  16. Augh Michi why you gotta do this when I'm in school DX I'll see if I can sneak watching it.
  17. Lol, in the Alternate History of Guilty Gear, Ky is killed in the Battle of Rome, and Sol becomes the commander of the Holy Knights. In that timeline, Potemkin ends up being his first Lieutenant. Hence why I said Potemkin.
  18. Yay she's still so pretty. Also as a Guilty Gear fanboy make it the Holy Order v. NOL. Ky, Order-Sol, Kliff, and Potemkin (yay alternate universe)
  19. Some notes: Christopher Hart Books: HAHAHAH no. I've seen most of his stuff, and it's all pretty underwhelming. Honestly I just think the guy's a hack. "Free drawing" is hard, and it's good that you're using references. Drawing without a reference is a good way to end up making mistakes and end up in poses that don't make sense. For figure drawings, Posemaniacs has a 10 minute random pose feature. I recommend using that, as it'll help you focus on your gestures and getting the basic idea of proportions down quickly. Don't worry about all the details, you just need the motion of the pose down along with the basic shapes. Still, I can say you've got the right sense of mind to be an artist. I'm not saying you need to hate all your work, but you at least need to know where you can improve.
  20. Oh, I can actually help with that one. The best introductory book to drawing in general is probably Betty Edwards' Drawing On the Right Side of the Brain, which helps teach the basics of the basics of drawing, basically teaching you how to think like an artist would. For anatomy and learning the human structure, I recommend books from George Bridgman, as he's got quite the selection of books regarding anatomy. Most of his stuff exaggerates the planes in his teaching style though, which actually helps as it makes it more apparent. I'd recommend against any tutorial books that teach step-by-step instructions, as they're not teaching you the structure or the shapes making up what you're drawing, just how to put lines down on paper. If you're interested in drawing manga, the How To Draw Manga books are probably your best bet. As for my advice, I'd say focus on learning the anatomy and structure of whatever you're drawing first, then focus on your own stylization once you learn the basics of that. Just like in a fighting game, you can't just hit challenge mode and learn 6k combos and expect to do well in a tournament; you need to learn your fundamentals of spacing, mixup, and defense to apply the combos and actually win. In art, you need to get your fundamentals of anatomy, composition, and values before applying your own stylization. Okay I'm done with bad metaphors now, but I think I hit my point. Also, for a good website, use Posemaniacs. Huge source of poses for you to get down gesture drawings and start to understand anatomy. Other than that, Google Image Search is your friend.
  21. C0R If I provide a .psd of one of my drawings could you make it into a desktop background for me? Lemme know if you're up to it and I'll PM you with details and the file.
  22. ...Noel had a figure?
  23. I'm just going to copy and paste what I posted on my Tumblr for the commentary on this one. Phew, this one took me a while. Decided to take that Jam costume I sketched out a while back and do a full drawing with it. I’m pretty damn happy with how it came out, I know it has a few errors here and there but overall I think it looks good. The inspiration for the costume came from the Fenghuang, and rolling with it I took inspiration from one of my older unfinished drawings for the wings and tail. Both of those, incidentally, I actually used the sprite used in Jam’s Chokyaku Houoshou Overdrive attack from Guilty Gear for inspiration. Overall, there are a few more things I could do with this piece, but for now I think I’ll give it a rest. The overall composition could use some work and I think I could detail the feathery parts more, but I still love the energy and movement in this, along with the chance to use a huge color pallet and warm, bright colors. That said, here's the finished product! Click it for a much larger version.
  24. Honestly I just figured all of Tsubaki's real damage comes from whiffs and IAD j.CC combos. Anything else I should be aware of to get good damage with her?
