  1. I'm stuck on the Zato-1 with the Blitz Shield now. It's so tough. I'm sure I can get it after enough tries, but the timing is crazy hard.
  2. Agreed. I did earlier today. They look like what I've seen in videos. I need to run through them again to build the muscle memory.
  3. Gotcha. I'll try it out when I get home. Thank you!
  4. Does anyone know how to complete mission 15? Sol does the DP, I kick, and then it says I failed. I don't get what I'm actually supposed to accomplish. Anyone figured it out?
  5. Hey, everyone: I have gold for the month, so I can actually play online now. My GT is j4k4r74. I play Faust. GG's to astealthfox and BLACKhazzard27
  6. After checking my money, I'll have $88 left over after pre-registering, so if there is anyone driving down and has a hotel room or somewhere to crash, I can contribute like $70 and still have a few bucks for food. I think my brother might be going as well if he has the money. I'm trying to talk Justin into coming, but he said he is low on cash as well. I know I'm entering MVC3 and GG. Maybe BB or Super.
  7. Well, Tron and Black Swan come out this weekend, so I'll have a hard time getting off on Saturday, but I should see you at Game Galaxy, Tad. I'm going to go ahead and put in for time off for Frosty as well. Edit: Chase, are you wanting to get a Hotel for Frosty? I was possibly think of just driving down to play and then driving back when it's all over to save a bit of cash. I'll just needs lots of caffeine. A hotel might be nice though if other people are getting there early to play casuals and what not.
  8. Hey, everyone. What's up? It's been a long time. I have one of those so called "jobs" now, and therefore, I have some money. Is anyone planning on going to Frosty Faustings this year? I'd love to go; it's been way too long since I've played. Justin and I are trying to play some more around here, and we may have found a few new people to play with. I do miss it. I'm going to go ahead and request off work to go it and hope it all works out. Also, I know no one plays SSFIV, but some of us are going to Game Galaxy on the 21st to mess around on the Super arcade machine and play whatever else they have Word.
  9. Will Slash be run on a machine with American or Japanese sticks? And will the buttons be reconfigured correctly? I think you said you need a new BIOS for the other machine to run it, so I curious.
  10. tolore, How can you say, "top players cannot get eliminated before their time this way( if they lose it won't be because of the randomeness of the bracket, it'll be because they aren't good enough)" [sic]? If a top player loses early on, then he deserves to lose. He obviously wasn't good enough to win, if he lost that early. If top player A loses to top player B early on, he more than likely won't beat him further on in the finals. If he stands a chance at all, he is more likely to beat him early on anyway because he'll be playing at his best without the fatigue of the entire tournament behind him. The only reason he should play worse is if he's psyching himself out because he has to fight another top player. If you can't win with a random bracket, you're not going to win.
  11. We have to actually get together to play GG first.

  12. xJakartax | Jakarta | Kentucky / USA | Delay 4 I've only payed Accent Core, so I'm trying to get used to the differences in them. I play Faust. Anyone online now and wants to play? I just got it set-up.

    Zappa Quirks

When Zappa is standing still, his arms wave back and forwards, and with them, his hitbox. It's completely useless, but you can test it: With Faust, if I 5D in training it will hit him only when his arms are directly in front of him or swinging from right to left, in the direction Zappa is facing. If his arms are off to either side 5D will whiff. If I take a slight step backwards, 5D will not hit unless his arms are swinging back around from right to left. When his arms are in front or to either side, it will whiff. Odd, but it's just something I picked up on in training mode.
  14. Yeah, Chickenfat is Chernell, the awesome Axl I played up in Morehead.

  15. Whatever, you Zappa is beasting all hardcore now.
  16. Mitsurugi has qualified for SBO. We'll just have to wait to see how he does.
  17. Hell yeah! I can't wait. Today is going to feel so long. =[

  18. Good morning Tony!

  19. ElvenShadow: Thanks for the recent blog entry! I'm definitely trying out that slashback bomb bag trick. =]
  20. Agreed. If you put the time and effort into learning the match-ups, you will be at a much greater advantage than someone who doesn't. Even at a disadvantage character wise, knowing the match-up and being an overall better player will put you ahead in the end. It will just be much harder. However, I love hard match-ups. Faust vs. Baiken pains me as a Faust player, but it has forced me into situations that I normally wouldn't be in. It has forced me to adapt, try new tactics, learn new combos, and really improve my overall game play.
  21. I have yet to play Blazblue, but as far as I understand, the system is quite different. There are similarities, so it should help some. Also, Guilty Gear is just an amazing game, so you should continue to play it too. I wouldn't say any single character is easier to learn than others, but when it comes to winning, you'll find difficultly with the low tiers. I'm not saying it can't be done, far from it actually. Personally, I believe you should pick a character you really enjoy and have fun playing; otherwise, you will get bored and go nowhere. As far as combos go, just keep practicing and you'll get them down. Play around in training mode a lot, but make sure you try out new combos and tactics in an actual fight because it is way different. Finally, welcome to Guilty Gear! I'm far from being the best or tournament level, but I'm getting there. It's definitely a blast; I hope you stick with it.
  22. Thank you. I knew you couldn't get grabbed while in block stun because I'll whiff Mettakiri, trying it too quickly after a hit. I thought you could grab them first. After we played several more matches, I started catching on. I started getting the grab first and came back and once with it once. Thanks again for confirming it. I want to make sure I have my facts down before I keep trying it.
