  1. Izanagi Ragna would both make so much sense, and not much sense, Especially after all the teasing with Amane. We need those details ASAP, this is getting really good if true.

  3. I brought that up in my last post. Yeah, he's done for :/
  4. Well seeing as how Susanno is basically Hakumen without Jin's soul inhabiting the armor, that might be a little difficult to do and still make sense in the story. Of course, this IS Blazblue. Noel and Mu-12 have fought each other within the context of the story despite being the same person, although that could be brushed off as a dream sequence.
  5. Does Susanoo's presence basically mean RIP in peace Hakumen at some point in the story? Ragna fighting him in the story mode would make sense, but seeing as how his beef with Terumi is pretty much done I wonder if you control someone like Es for that fight.
  6. On a side note, that pic really channels Berserker vs. Saber. I would normally say "Poor Es," but we all know she's far from poor. Wonder if he can be thrown.
  7. Terumi has been known to have a "final form" so to speak for a while now, and once Izanami was revealed early I knew she couldn't really be the final boss. Ragna being himself the entire time makes sense; he's already artificial to begin with (think he mentioned this to Noel in CS) and he refuses to adopt any power but his own as of CP.
  8. Wouldn't be a BB game if we didn't have a preexisting character becoming a new character in a different form. *Count voice* So now we have three! Count 'em, three Terumis! Ahahahaha!
  9. Well shit. I think we found our final boss, people.
  10. As mentioned, generalizing is bad and doesn't really answer anything. So instead, I came up with a tier list of reasons why you wouldn't dub it, to try and figure out who's really at fault here: High: Precedent. Revelator was sold without a dub locally and it did fairly well, at least enough to warrant a re-release....which also didn't have a dub. You could argue that BlazBlue is the bigger focus of the two now in the present, but if ASW was willing to do that with their brainchild, the spiritual sequel would also face the same treatment. Costs. There are dozens of VAs with plenty of lines, and several other with less so. This is no one's fault really, this is simply business. Since video game voice acting can run up to nearly $50,000, it would be nothing but beneficial to most people on both ends to skip the VAs. Mid: Importing. I'm giving this is a medium priority because the first two games came out in a very similar one month time frame. It was only different for CP because of a different studio, and people who didn't care for the story imported. These imports could mean there would be a double dip in the future, but it could also mean that the NA branch isn't making as much sales as they could right away. ASW has very little reason to worry about this now, but it could always be a reasoning brought up, sure. Fanbase. The amount of people who are indifferent might be greater than the amount of people who do care for the dub, and that might be enough to risk a dubless entry in the first place. Even in this very thread, there's a back and forth over whether it's really worth boycotting, worth cancelling preorders, and worth waiting on an Extend version. This contrast alone is probably part of the reasoning behind dropping it in the first place; after all, if there are people arguing against waiting for a dub, those are people who are buying it. People arguing for a dub? Eh, they might buy it, but maybe they weren't in the first place and they are just supporting the cause. One side will certainly be more profitable than the other. Scheduling. With more story than ever and a load of high-profile VAs to call in for it, chances are that ASW nor Aksys wanted to deal with the headache of arranging that, especially for an element that isn't nearly as important as the gameplay. Then there's also auditioning and casting for the bunch of new characters introduced, which would increase the production time and therefore potentially make the wait even longer. Low: Vendetta. I'm sure ASW couldn't care less about whether or not the dub is fully recognized. This is both good and bad, since in previous titles they went "eh sure go ahead" through under Aksys's management, but this time around they're saying "nah". There's probably not someone out there thinking that subs are superior anyway and therefore it should go through as such. Greed. This is different from costs because while it would certainly be beneficial to save money by not dubbing, I'm sure it doesn't take a business expert to let someone at ASW realize that if there are nearly 5000 people who aren't buying the game full price, the money they'll save would be nothing compared to the money they would earn from those dub lovers. In the end, while it's mostly on the side of the developers and publishers to get things together for the dub, ultimately it's the people who buy it that determine whether or not it's all worth it. That is why in regards to boycotting, I feel it's hardly a bad move, nor is it selfish or detrimental or anything like that. It's simply speaking with your wallet. People are terrified that there will be no more BB games localized? That's interesting, because I could've sworn people were buying the games regardless. I feel bad for Aksys taking the PR hit right now, but to be fair they were quite defensive at first, until Patrick Seitz softened their stance. ASW meanwhile, has been steadfast in not explaining anything outside of a cheek response towards the petition, so let's not shift our focus on the wrong group here. What we need to be careful of is that we don't end up like the Modern Warfare 2 "boycotters", remember that little fiasco?
  11. Oh yeah, even Valk realizes that Rachel is starting to get carried away with what she is really capable of. Still, it's interesting that she's still powerful enough to beat Izanami handily in her own arcade mode, when Kagura got rekt and Lambda and Nu were basically played around with.
  12. If they spend a whole 2 games going "omg you can't kill Izzy Rags she iz 2 OP" and then they finally manage to do it, I'll be so pissed. Act 2 even put emphasis on how hard it is to make it stick in Ragna's arcade. I think Noel suddenly dropping would be worthy of a "bombshell", maybe even as a self sacrifice
  13. So. Chapter 10 of the story mode trophy is called "The Requiem". The ending story trophy is called "And on that bombshell..." I really hope they're not telegraphing how it's gonna go for Ragna with those trophy names.

  15. November 1st is the release date. People are becoming discouraged now on the petition. This is actually the biggest test of people's resolve; sadly I think less people appreciate the dub enough to not buy it on day one. Boycott is extremely, but there are plenty of ways to play the game without buying. GameFly in particular is bringing back old members for $1.
  16. Most of story mode taking place after arcade mode would shake things up quite a bit. Would it mean that everything we've known so far is just a taste of the 40 hour story mode, then? I feel there's some big curveball in the story so far that no one has predicted yet, maybe it's hidden outside of the arcade mode details.
  17. That could be, but Rainfall had a lot more going for it, despite the same premise. Plus it was the prospect of a whole localization vs just a dub. Maybe we need to form this petition under another "Operation" name for it to gain some attention? #operationbluefall? #operationtrueblue? #operationazure? #operationdubstep?
  18. I thought the physical letter proposal was stupid at first, but the longer I think about it it would make more sense. Still, good progress so far.
  19. They're probably worried they won't get ad revenue or a review copy if they post articles about the petition. Honestly, with the November date still being unsure, I'm wondering if they might be reapproaching the way they do the release here. Digital-only sub release would satisfy the ones who want to play right away, and they could always save the physical release for later with the dub. Again, ideal situation.
  20. Drives got weird once they became in-story plot devices just as much as they were in-game mechanics. Izanami is a drive that has a Drive.....Driveception? People got confused because she seemingly came out of nowhere because of the Japanese mythology her namesake is from, wonder if that was intentional. "Lol, they'll never know I'm actually one big bad Shadow self" Either that, or Mori played Persona 4 and was mad that they did it first.
  21. I know the highest being in a story typically requires no explanation, but I'd love it if Mori can explain what the hell is up with Amaterasu exactly. It's one of multiple "Units", yet it's the highest of the 3. It managed to make Noel essentially its physical incarnation without her knowing of it (and Mu-12 doesn't seem to identify herelf as such either), but Izanami needed a vessel in comparison. It doesn't want itself to have a "bad ending" and does multiple Phenomena Interventions to prevent this, but certain story-altering events in each game manage to go through untouched. All the villains have tried attacking the satellite that is supposedly its physical incarnation, but it turns out Noel was the one they needed to attack all along. Is any of this clarified in the information we already know so far?
  22. Did Kokonoe remember Nine all that much before she was thrown into the Boundary by Terumi? I think Jubei had her sent away as a baby and that's why she hates him, but she seems to reference Nine vividly despite them never meeting properly as adults until now, and vice-versa.
  23. They reused that panel of Izanami from CS; what does it say now? And is that panel with the 3 siblings from CP? If not, I sense some pretty glorious gag reels.
  24. At the end of the day though, it was Kojima's choice to work with English crew for motion capture and voice acting this time around, and Hayter got the short end of the stick because of it. I doubt Konami cared either way, as long as it was out on time.
  25. This isn't new for VAs, now that I think about it. Remember David Hayter and MGSV? There was less controversy because people are split on Hayter's performance, but the consensus seemed to be that it was way too late to suddenly change Big Boss's voice just because Kojima preferred to work with Sutherland. Edit: Up to 3K now. Hope it can keep this up. People should probably stop saying that they want an Extend version with the dub. PS pretty much said that there's nothing stopping it from being add-on DLC when someone asked if they mean to delay it, and I'm sure ASW would only be bothered if they can make sure the vanilla version sells well first, which it will if a dub is confirmed to be DLC for it.
