  1. Got a BUNCH of new things to share. First of all, Cristina Vee is back as Noel and Nu! Secondy, Famitsu released a bunch of pages about the game that details story mode, shows off more of Platinum, Orie and Kanji and gives us our first look at Yang. Chao over on the new BlazBlue wiki's discord translated the scans. I'm splitting it up under spoiler tags just to keep the post from getting too long. EDIT: Not sure why half of it is strikthroughed. I can't seem to get rid of it. Sorry. EDIT 2: David Vincent is back as Jin!
  2. No they can't. BBTAG has new dialogue since there are unique fight intro conversations and I believe characters call out the names of assists. Plus Es has no english voice and BBTAG has moves that were introduced in CF like Ragna's Nightmare Edge and Azrael's Full Spartan. And most importantly of all, there's a story mode, which is what takes the most time to dub. If they're going to have the actors in the booth for hours and hours, they might as well re-record Ragna saying "Carnage Scissors" just to make sure the voice is consistent.
  3. Patrick Seitz and D.C. Douglas have confirmed that they will return in BBTAG to voice Ragna and Azrael respectively. Additionally, I sent tweets to the actors of all confirmed characters asking if they were returning and Jamieson Price liked the tweet. Cristina Vee also liked Patrick Seitz's tweet about him being Ragna. While neither of these are outright confirmation, they are a good sign.
  4. WE'RE OFFICIALLY GETTING A FULL DUB!!!!!!!!!! Also pricing listing but who gives a fuck about that?
  5. Yes. They specifically mention that they will talk about the dub at the press event on Thursday (for reference, it is here at about 32:20).
  6. From the second ArcLive stream that just ended: There will be a press event on Thursday night where they will reveal a lot of stuff. Included in that will be the answer to whether or not the game is dubbed.
  7. Before anyone gets too excited about the guy saying the game will be dubbed, I would like to let you all know that there was an official Arc chat mod that, when asked to clarify a full dub, said "no comment at this time." The streamer also got Yang being available at launch wrong (he was apparently corrected during the break because at the end of the stream he says she would be available after launch). When I asked the chat mod to explain the discrepancy between the two statements it replied that the streamer "got too excited" but it only specifically mentioned Yang, not commenting on the dub. Now the fact that they believed there would be a dub does give me some hope that there is one being planned but I will be furious if I was given false hope, even if for only like 30 minutes.
  8. These numbers are hopelessly, stupidly out of touch with reality. The limited edition (which comes with all the DLC) is around $90. Considering the limited edition also comes with an art book, I would estimate all of the DLC to cost somewhere between $20-30. That's still exorbitant considering most likely 18 of those characters will not be new assets and the base roster is far too small but it is not on the same planet as what you are suggesting. I really hope you haven't posted this around anywhere else because you are not helping by spreading such nonsense. Yes what Arc is doing is REALLY shitty but please try and look at things in a remotely realistic manner.
  9. All 20 of the characters from Blake onward will be DLC. There will be 6 sets of 3 characters and two stand alones (one Blake and the other likely Yang). Yes, seriously.
  10. He doesn't. He's just guessing but wording it as if it's fact for some reason.
  11. That is definitely weird. I'll be sure to check this tomorrow when I go back. EDIT: Just checked. Run is default movement and double-tapping does nothing. It seems to be a mistake.
  12. Yeah. Running is the only form of movement. So anyway I got to play a whole lot of the game today and while it was very different and difficult to adjust to, it was a lot of fun. I'll put all my thoughts together later but for now I thought I'd share two things. Here's the flyer they gave out to those who played the demo and here's all the alternate color palettes. Additionally, I recorded about 7 minutes of gameplay footage that I'm uploading to youtube now (but it's going VERY slowly). I'll post a link when it's ready. If any of you have any questions about the mechanics let me know. EDIT: Also, the most important question I got an answer to. In response to whether we'll get a dub, he said "we're trying really really hard." Take that how you will. EDIT 2: Here's the footage I recorded. None of it is actually me playing. Currently the video is only in 360p though.
  13. So I got to play 20 or so matches of BBTAG and while it was very different it was a lot of fun. I will give my thoughts in more detail when I get home tonight. I also recorded about 7 fights so I’ll upload them later. Let me know if you have any questions about the game.
  14. It should be noted that the character select screen has been confirmed to be a placeholder so we aren't necessarily getting just 28 character. Also we can expect more BlazBlue characters than the other series.
  15. So here's some gameplay analysis I've done. Assists take half of the blue bar to use. Characters slowly recover health when they’re not being used. There doesn’t seem to be any form of Barrier Block since despite seeming to have a similar look, they still take chip damage. You start with all 3 bars of super meter, so you can use them immediately. Using an assist fills in one of the four diamonds next to the assist meter. These seem to be connected to Resonance Blaze because when it becomes available the diamonds are covered with “Lv. 4,” suggesting that the number of diamonds increase the level and presumably the higher level has an effect on Resonance Blaze (personally I think it increases its duration because it lasts quite a while). Resonance Blaze seems to do at least three things. Recovers HP slowly (whether it is just the temporary HP that seems to be the same as Fighterz or not is unclear), rapidly fills the special gauge and for BlazBlue characters seems to apply the Overdrive benefits, or at least gives them access to the Overdrive versions of their supers.
  16. Our first look at Ruby in action!
  17. Just saw that this thread existed so I figured I'd let people know that I'm going to Comic Con and will be able to play the demo. I'll be sure to relay my experiences and hopefully find a way to record some footage.
  18. I'm pretty sure that Meifang was helping with Izanami in Spiral Shift, which takes place before Tenjo's death.
  19. Are you saying we're not already at that point? Phenomenon Intervention, the Power of Order, Immortal Breaker and Time Killer would like a word with you. But to be fair, it does sound like her versions of the techniques are weaker than the originals. Rin does say her pressure isn't at the level of Houichirou's after all. It's safe to assume her ability has a limit.
  20. To be fair, we seem to be getting two more Fuzzy's in exchange. Speaking of Fuzzy, he brings to mind the question of vampires in the BlazBlue world. So far we have seen four vampires (Rachel, Raquel, Clavis and Fuzzy) and all of them seem to have vastly different origins and properties. Rachel's origin is unclear aside from the fact that Clavis made her, Raquel was created from an Embryo, Clavis is an Illusionary Creature created from a wish on the Azure and Fuzzy is part of a series of artificial beings. Both Rachel and Fuzzy cannot be killed by anything but an Immortal Breaker but that immortality seems to come from different sources (Rachel's is due to being an Onlooker, not vampirism) while Clavis and Raquel both have life force values that Naoto can see (Rachel had no number). Vampires in BlazBlue are still such a large mystery and I hope they are explored more in the future (especially if we get to see the story of Rachel's journey to reunite with Ragna post-CF).
  21. I never really assumed anything about her since her relationship with her father is clearly much more important. Personally I'm more surprised with how much of a badass her faher is.

  23. @Kenji Harima: Wow dude that's a lot to unpack. First of all, you need to work on your grammar because this is really hard to follow. I'll try and address each point as they come. Ragna, Jin and Saya are not from the Amanohokosaka. They are children of Prime Field Device No. 5, which is obviously artificial. Now No.5 MIGHT be based on Saya Terumi, who is from a branch family of the Amanohokosaka but even then the relationship between the siblings and the Amanohokosaka's is tenuous at best. Their looks have nothing to do with it. I'm assuming you meant to say Ragna is Naoto's descendant, not the other way around, because what you have so far is impossible. The timing of the Prime Field War is vague because it caused the entire world to reset. This could mean a unified history of the past up until the time period where the war took place and then there was a split (in which case the Azure Shrine Maiden event came first) or it could have rewritten all of human history thus making all events seem "later" than the Original world. You can't compare these types of vessels as if they're the same thing. They all follow their own rules. There is nothing that says how a vessel looks matters in the slightest. 1) Kazuma/Hazama → this is the only type of vessel they've explained even slightly. All that is said is that the soul inside must be very similar to Terumi's (hence why Hazama and Kazuma are manipulative assholes), the look has nothing to do with it. Terumi's "true form" outside of the Susano'o Unit is the black and green ghost blob we see in the first two games. Terumi's playable form is simply Trinity materializing him in the same look he had when he was possessing Kazuma. Terumi's look was determined by his vessel, not the other way around. We know that the Sankishin are not manmade. Susano'o states that it's his desire to destroy everything Amaterasu creates and since that includes all of humanity, clearly they are a result of his "sister's" work (not necessarily The Origin though). The world needs the Master Unit's Observation to exist in the first place so it can't have been manmade. Perhaps they emerged from the Azure or something since the Azure is a power even greater than Amaterasu but who knows. They might have simply existed as long as the Azure has with no origin. 2) Saya → I highly doubt Relius really needed to dye her hair for Izanami to be inhabit her. Don't forget that Izanami and Terumi are different kinds of beings and Saya and Hazama/Kazuma are different kinds of vessels. Saya is the child of Prime Field Device and Hazama/Kazuma are Azure Grimoires in human form. It is foolish to assume the same rules apply. As you said, the only reason Saya was an ideal candidate was her ability to amplify seithr. Nothing else mattered. Where did you get that Saya is not a Grimoire of the Origin? That makes no sense. In fact, Saya and The Origin have no direct connection to each other. The connection is second-hand since both Izanami and the Prime Fields based on Saya are connected to The Origin's soul but Saya herself is unrelated. Furthermore, do not call The Origin "Original Saya." The Origin has never been given the name Saya. This is "True Noel" all over again. 3) Nine → Actually this proves nothing. All it means is that Relius made the body look the same because that is how she looked in the past. There is no indication that the soul changed the body or that the vessel wouldn't work if it looked different. The Origin didn't take Noel as a vessel. That is something completely different. For one thing all Prime Field devices have a piece of The Origin's soul, not just Noel. Furthermore, Noel is The Origin's "other self." What this means exactly isn't elaborated on but it is more than simply possession. It also wasn't easy to do since apparently it was only possible because of the immense amount of energy released from Take-Mikazuchi firing on Ibukido. The Origin wasn't remodeled into a Prime Field, it's explicitly stated that she was made as one. She was artificial to begin with. Besides we already know what The Origin looks like. There's no need to speculate on that. Also, don't forget that Tenjo herself was inhabiting a vessel so even her looking like Saya says nothing. In fact, if we assumed the rules of vessels were universal (which they're not) Tenjo would completely debunk your theory since she planned to use Nirvana as her next vessel and we all know Nirvana can never be made to look human. It doesn't matter what you believe. The Origin (who I assume you are talking about when you say "Saya") only got a soul after contact with the Master Unit. That has been confirmed multiple times and having them originally be humans completely contradicts all the rules of Prime Field Devices. There was no "original Ragna and Saya" just The Origin and whoever her brother was (presumably another Prime Field since there is nothing that says they have to be female and Relius and Nine had no need to specify a gender for the race).
  24. Absolutely nothing happened for Hibiki in story mode. He was just Kagura's secretary and did what was asked of him like in Chrono Phantasma. None of the stuff from arcade mode is ever brought up. Heck I don't think Hibiki gets into a single fight in the entirety of story mode. Hibiki is far from the only character whose potential was squandered (Lambda, Mai, Es) in story mode but it is a shame.
  25. Naoto and Saya are from the Terumi clan, which is a branch family of the Amanohokosaka clan. I don't think they are direct descendants of Mei. And what would it explain? Ragna's connection to the Azure comes from gaining the Azure Grimoire. It's not natural to him so it has nothing to do with the Azure Shrine Maiden. Also, what do Ragna and Mei's personalities have to do with this? It's not like they are even that close since Ragna is more angry and distant while Mei is more insulting and, for lack of a better term, "bitchy." And all of this is assuming that Saya Terumi is in fact the basis of No. 5, which is not 100% confirmed.
