Central Fiction Arcade Plot Discussion (spoilers)
Ogiga99 replied to Chaoschao222's topic in Zepp Museum
I'm pretty sure the only mention (aside from Terumi and Relius comparing Hazama to "previous vessels" generally) of him is during Terumi's fight with Jin. When Trinity says that he should just disappear into the Boundary, he asks if she's sure about that because Kazuma's consciousness might still remain in his head and him disappearing would mean Kazuma would be gone forever (he's trolling obviously). Aside from making Trinity angst, Kazuma is largely irrelevant because his body was lost to the Boundary and ultimately he was just Terumi's previous vessel and unlike Hazama he never grew beyond that role. In regards to the whole Noel being "The Origin" thing, I think the previous theory that the soul of the girl inside the Master Unit moved into Noel's head is still the case, just minus the OPFD part. Based on Amane and Mu's ending we know for a fact that the Master Unit is currently vacant and that in some way whatever is supposed to be inside it (its "core" or "The Origin") has become Noel in some form. However, in Kagura's ending Kokonoe discusses the gods (Amaterasu and Izanami). She explains that both of them are inside "vessels" that can be destroyed. Since she refers to them collectively, it's pretty clear that they both follow the same principles, the soul of a god is put inside a separate body. I'm pretty sure this is confirmation that Noel simply has the soul of "The Origin." -

It's almost certainly just a result of the static. The Murakumo Unit line is probably the smallest element in the picture and it's black on grey so the static can easily block it out. i wouldn't look to far into this. Amane himself says that he is interfering. His intervention is still pretty direct (fighting several characters, trying to Observe Ragna to delay his Black Beast transformation, planning with Rachel to return Amaterasu to the Boundary etc.). He justifies it by saying that because the villains are purposefully distorting the world he can take action to fix it. The Onlooker is not supposed to interfere with the human "possibility" for the future but he can (or at least considers it worth the risk to) intervene to allow that possibility to exist. Now whether the world itself is OK with this remains to be seen. Rachel's actions are probably considered much worse because they were before the Embryo distorted the world and set it on the path to Doomsday. She directly acted to end the time loop by blocking Take-Mikazuchi and she sends Ragna back in time to the Time for Decision which took causality over a period of 100 years out of human hands. Basically Amane might have more lenient circumstances. Izanami's high position on the "knows what the hell is going on" list and confidence are pretty different from what happened in Act 3. Act 3 is about her trying to figure out exactly what she is and how she can exist but she really hasn't wavered in her goals. It would be hard to manipulate her when that endgame hasn't changed. Not really. While the entire unit is pretty big, the "coffin" part is just the golden part in the center with the tubes that is shaped like a coffin. The rest couldn't be used as a coffin. -

So apparently Revelator's Story mode isn't paid DLC but rather free updates that will be released over time. Is this correct? If that's the case I'm a bit more comfortable with the idea as opposed to having to pay for the whole story. Then again I would hate having to wait after release to get the whole central narrative. -

Do any of the Material Collections besides the CT ones have short stories in them? I haven't heard anything about this. Time Loop Proof doesn't work that way. Being outside of the normal timeline and being immune to its resets doesn't mean she doesn't experience her own linear time during which she matures. It's also possible that the 50 year coma she falls into after the Dark War is a result of her becoming an Onlooker and gaining the necessary knowledge/power. That would mean she physically grew during that time and then froze if what you say is correct. Clavis didn't die before the time loops, he died during the first one. The closed off time loop (where everything before it is set in stone as fact) started on January 1, 2100. Clavis died during the Dark War (I forget exactly when but I believe somewhere around 2107). He is only guaranteed alive until December 31, 2099, after that anything is fair game. And even if his part in the events were stabilized by the Time for Decision regardless of his Onlooker status, he shouldn't be able to remember any of the events happening because he died. But why single out Tao? Nearly every Arcade has inconsistent parts that need some explanation via reset shenanigans. Have you tried to keep track of Noel and Mu's personalities and what stage of breakdown they are in for each Arcade? Someone needs to gain their trust because they are paranoid everyone wants to kill them like 5 times each. My point about Ragna's dynamic entry was that he suddenly appears before Mu specifically twice. And if he is trying to protect her why would he ditch her after Tao's? Watch Izayoi and Hakumen's endings again. In Hakumen's there is no blue pulse, the screen just flashes white and there is a dramatic heartbeat sound, which is used constantly in BlazBlue even for things unrelated to the Azure effects (when Izanami calls Noel "The Origin" in Mu's Act 3 for example). That heartbeat is just to add drama to Tsubaki realizing who Hakumen is. Compare this to Izayoi's ending where a fragment of the Azure gathers around them (and Hakumen says Terumi is behind it) and Tsubaki gets the vision because she touches it. That version does not use the heartbeat sound until after all of that and the screen turning off sound. The context of Hakumen's ending is pretty clear. Tsubaki asks Hakumen why he won't kill her. Hakumen says killing her is his "original sin" that he could never erase. Remember that Hakumen told Tsubaki the story of Wheel of Fortune in his canon Continuum Shift Story, about the woman who was closest to him that died because of his actions. After Hakumen says that killing her is his original sin, she was able to put 2 and 2 together to realize that she was the woman he was talking about in that story, and thus Hakumen is Jin. Hakumen also calls her "Tsubaki" (he normally addresses her as "Tsubaki Yayoi") in the same tender way that Jin does. In one case Tsubaki gets a magic Azure vision but in the other she figures it out for herself. I agree that Story Mode will show the one concrete "canon timeline" whereas Arcade Mode will have contradictions. However that is exactly why coming up with anything more than the most basic of timelines (Ragna's very early, Platinum's very late) is so difficult. Pretty much any fight or ending from any character can be the result of a reset (if there is one). Even events that are explicitly referenced in other character's Arcade (Ragna says he met Rachel, which happened in her story, when he fights Valkenhayn in his story) are not safe since both events could be rejected. Once CF's story is out we will be able to piece together which Arcades can be added to fit the canon timeline. In CP many Arcades happened beat for beat in story (Ragna's was the end of Chrono Phantasma Act 1, Bang's was the end of Sector Seven etc.) although most of them are rendered "non-canon" via reset since many of them end with Phenomenon Intervention and of course the Extend Arcades are canon. Based on the nature of CF, I'll bet a higher percentage of Arcades will be canon, especially everyone fighting Nine and Izanami in Acts 1 and 2 since we're probably not going to see that happen for each character but they all need to experience those fights to choose their side on the "kill/protect Noel" debate. I certainly hope CF won't have Story DLC. For one thing, Revelator is closer to an Extend release whereas CF is the main release (and is the grand finale of Ragna's story that needs to be on disc). Since I know nothing about Guilty Gear, does it do a Story Mode for each character like CT-CS or have a combined narrative like CP-CF? If it's the first one it is much easier to fit in DLC that would be more tangential than a game with a singular narrative. -

Also, Hinata and Es came into contact with the Master Unit before the Prime Field experiments were even started so who knows what's going on. Wasn't AD2099.12.31 the day of the attempt to smelt the Kusanagi when the Black Beast was released? I thought that the Prime Field 1 was the one used in that experiment. -

Even if Hihiirokane could be used to weaken Hazama, why would he need that weapon specifically to do this? Wouldn't it be as simple as beating down Hazama to take over? Why would he go to all the trouble of finding Hihiirokane unless he needed the special properties of that weapon in particular? Also, if Hazama's ending comes after Terumi's, why didn't Terumi use Hihiirokane against Hazama like you suggested? I will be brief on this since it is veering dangerously close to full on playable character prediction, but if we're going with Terumi getting the Susano'o Unit, or something similar, as a vessel, I can see a super mode Terumi, one of the main villains in the series, as a potential final boss. Besides, after Izayoi was added, I'd say anything's fair game. I'm not sure why you think Nu should be able to tell that Mu is separate from Noel despite most other characters having to pause and piece it together. She shouldn't sense two "Noel signals" since she only found Mu at the time and would have no reason to get the other signal. Nu doesn't have a constant Embryo-wide Noel tracking device and she is not psychic so what would make her realize Mu is the purged Godslayer powers? And of course, it's made pretty clear that Mu needs to die to kill Noel anyway since they are two parts of the same person. Nu also calls her the 12th Prime Field so I don't know why this is such an issue when everyone calls Mu Noel. Even Rachel, who knows the split, still refers to her as Noel. In Valkenhayn's ending Amane refers to himself as "the next Onlooker," which means he became an Onlooker after Rachel. Combine that with Valkenhayn saying that "the world doesn't need multiple Onlookers" and it's pretty clear Amane is Rachel's replacement. You're mixing up the terms Observer and Onlooker. Rachel and Amane are Onlookers, who are Observers who have been tasked with watching over the progress of the world from the outside. An Observer is just someone who can "acknowledge" things they see as fact. There are many Observers but none of them are immune to Phenomenon Intervention like the Onlookers are. Also, when Amane says that the world won't save Rachel even if he dies in Valkenhayn's ending, when Amane says she intervened it cuts to the image of her from the CT True Ending before she blocked Take-Mikazuchi's shot with Tsukuyomi. From that moment onward Rachel had already stepped onto the stage, although she didn't start weakening until she got really involved by causing the Time for Decision, so Amane could have been made an Onlooker before CP. I don't know how else to explain this Clavis thing to you? An Onlooker is immune to Phenomenon Intervention. The time loops are caused by undoing events with Phenomenon Intervention. No one is actually being revived, rather the events that killed people are made to have never happened. However, if Clavis was an Onlooker, he would be immune to the very thing that causes the rewind and revives everyone and thus would stay dead. The best way to look at it is to compare this to what happens with Sechs in Code: Embryo. Because of the Kusanagi, Sechs could negate any Phenomenon Intervention and thus retained his memories whenever Hinata reset the world. However, this came with the price of Shared Existance, meaning that there is one single version of Sechs existing simultaneously in all timelines. Sechs is ultimately defeated because Es sends Touya back to the original timeline to kill Sechs at his weakest. In any other circumstances this wouldn't do anything since even if someone died in one timeline the reset would just bring them back. However because Sechs has one existence that is outside of traditional causality, killing him in the past means that every version of him is dead so he instantly dies in the current timeline. Turning back time only restores the people inside of that timeline, the characters who exist outside of it are not afforded that luxury. I'm not sure why you're bringing up the playable Rachel in Phase 0 because that is very clearly the CP-era Rachel that sent him back to Phase 0 in the first place. Of course she can pop in considering the insane level of interfering she is doing. She does it again in Phase 4 to bring Ragna back. The Rachel we see in every other scene is the young one who is meeting Ragna for the first time. I don't think Soul Eater works that way. Soul Eater can absorb life energy and souls. The reason Ragna wanted to use it on Rettenjou is because it has Tenjou's soul inside it. Soul Eater would be able to draw out his soul so Ragna could talk to him. That is an entirely different beast from being able to "eat" someone's desires. Tsubaki and Hakumen is not that easy. What you described is how it happened in Izayoi's ending. However, in Hakumen's ending she also discovers Hakumen's identity "for the first time" after Tsubaki tells him that if he wants to kill Noel he would have to kill her and take the Izayoi, with Hakumen refusing to do so because he cannot repeat his "original sin," after which he says her name, causing her to recognize him as JIn. The two scenes are completely different and both fights are preceded by the exact same conversation. Hakumen tells Tsubaki that she must kill Noel with the Immortal Breaker to save the world, Tsubaki refuses to do so, Hakumen tries to force her to so they fight. (For the record I don't play Guilty Gear so I don't know any of the references you are making). Throwing out Tao as non-canon is a dangerous road to go down because BlazBlue just does not do that and if you say one "doesn't count" then what's to stop you from saying any number of other character's routes are non-canon. Nothing in Tao's Arcade is so insane that it shouldn't be considered as a possible event in the story (Azrael's route is far more ridiculous since Bang actually dies) so throwing her under the bus seems really arbitrary to me. -

Would Hihiirokane even work against Hazama like that? Hazama is a vessel with a soul bound to its body similar to a normal human whereas Terumi and Hakumen are unique existances. Hihiirokane can cut both body and soul, so attacking Hazama would more likely kill him than just destroy his soul (unlike the Susano'o Unit which is much more durable). Also, Terumi wouldn't be able to use Hazama's body if he destroyed his soul. Terumi's vessels (of the Kazuma/Hazama variety) require the body to have a soul that is very similar to Terumi's in order to complete the fusion and considering Relius doesn't just make soulless bodies for Teurmi, that part is essential. As for how he could beat Hakumen, you forget that Terumi's power skyrockets when he is near a Cauldron. In his Arcade mode, despite how weak he is, Terumi was able to defeat Jin while near a Cauldron so I could see him fighting evenly against Hakumen in that situation. There is only one playable Terumi. Hazama does not count as a version of Terumi since they are two different people. The only true case of two forms of the same person left is Tsubaki/Izayoi. They could very easily have a new form for Terumi if they so wish. Regardless, Terumi has shown interest in the Susano'o Unit and he calls the cube Hihiirokane and says it will let him obtain a vessel so clearly the soul-cutting blade is necessary for it and it can't be a new body. Still, the fact that Terumi has Hihiirokane seems to disprove my theory that Hihiirokane is the "that" Jubei says he and Rachel need to retrieve in her Act 3 ending. Considering Terumi getting a vessel would stabilize his existence, whatever Hazama intends to do should do the same. It's unclear what he even means by "take over" and "use" but yes, it is weird. At the very least, Terumi doesn't seem to have Hihiirokane in this ending since he doesn't have the power to stop Hazama. Mu is still Noel in a way since she's a part of her. The fact that people are trying to kill her means she also needs to die for the whole fulfilling your desires thing. Characters like Ragna, Makoto, Tsubaki and Kagura recognizing her as Noel is because she is still the person they care about, Godslayer powers embodied or not. For Nu, it could simply be because she is absolutely bonkers. BlazBlue has always been big on the whole "screw destiny" trope. There have been like a dozen supposedly impossible situations that someone is able to solve. Turning Mu back into Noel was supposed to be impossible, but Ragna did it. It should have been impossible for Es to return after becoming the Embryo, but Watashi found a way. We all thought there was no way for Terumi to survive Time Killer, but he succeeded. It is supposed to be impossible to prevent Doomsday without killing Noel and creating a new world, but Amane has an alternative. No matter how many death flags he has, there is at least some kind of convoluted insane way for Ragna to live. I'm not saying he won't die, but it is not set in stone. Ragna does care for Jin, he just isn't very outwardly emotional in the same way Jin is. In CS he does say Jin should be the one to finally kill him, so there is that. You're also forgetting about Rachel (assuming she is still alive by this point). We've already seen her cry when Ragna died in his CS Bad Ending and that would certainly happen if the death was permanent, and may or may not be followed by her having Tsubaki kill her like she asked. I don't know if it's explicitly been said that Ragna can open the gate, just that Es is supposed to bring him to it. Granted, that implies he is supposed to open it but nothing is confirmed. As for why those two can open it, assuming Ragna can, it is probably because they are the only characters who can access the power of the True Azure. @Zedar90: Regarding "The Origin" from Mu's ending, was this ending the only time we believed it was mentioned that Noel had the soul of the OPFD? Basically, was that also said somewhere else or is any mention of the OPFD a mistranslation? This has also brought about a whole new slew of random thoughts. We now know for sure, if we didn't already, that Story Mode will cover events during the same time frame as Arcade Mode. In Kagura's Act 3, Ragna mentions being captured by him twice with Kagura saying the second time wasn't his fault because of the Embryo. This is clearly the scene that we saw in the Famitsu preview. What exactly did Ragna plan to do to Lambda in her Act 3? In order to deny everyone's desires, he says he needs to make her "forget a little" and activates the Azure Grimoire. What exactly did he mean by making her "forget?" He wasn't going to kill her so what is he doing with the Grimoire? Valkenhayn's Act 3 might shed some light on the question of whether Clavis was an Onlooker. Apparently the world only needs one Onlooker, and Amane became one to replace Rachel. Assuming Clavis's power loss was the result of being an Onlooker and intervening, then perhaps Rachel's birth had her take his place as the Onlooker, causing him to lose the status and the power that comes with it. If he stopped being an Onlooker by the time he died, he could be revived during the Dark War since he would no longer be outside of the time loop. I still don't think he is one (and this still doesn't say he was referencing Ragna when he told Jin that "listen to your heart" line) but this might be an explanation without a massive plot hole. This might work for some modes but despite having no (currently explained) time reset via Phenomenon Intervention or other methods, Act 3 has the most blatan contradictions between various stories of all of CF. Who obtains what Nox keeps changing (both Nu and Arakune obtain Rettenjou and Arakune flat out eats Bang in Azrael's story), Tsubaki learns that Hakumen is Jin in both Izayoi and Hakumen's endings through very different circumstances, Terumi getting Hihiirokane is pretty incompatible with him submitting to letting Hazama use him, Ragna dramatically appears before Mu twice (to save her from Nu and to save Tao from her) and Noel is forced to remember why she purged Mu in both her and Mu's endings among others. That being said there do seem to a few that we can place relative to others . Ragna's is one of if not the first one. In pretty much all the others he has already come to the conclusion that he must deny all of the Entitled's wishes. Litchi's takes place after Carl and Bang's, as well as any other ones she appears in (can't remember which) since Arakune erases her memories of him at the end of hers. Rachel's is one of the last, or at least after all of the other ones she appears in, since she exhausts all of her strength and then meets with Jubei. Valkenhayn's takes place after Rachel's, or at least his fight with Ragna comes after her fight with Ragna, since Ragna says he already met with Rachel. Nine's is after Carl's since he has already in Relius Jr. mode in her Arcade. Platinum's is one of the last (after at least Jin's, Nine's and Terumi's off the top of my head) since Trinity is given a new body and no longer inhabits Jin. These are the only ones I can think of and a lot of these probably won't really apply once they give a reset button explanation to clear up the contradictions. The only one that is truly consistent is Ragna's being early because of his role in everyone else's routes but I'm sure that will be retold in Story Mode anyway. -

So was that cube Terumi took from Clavis's coffin Hihiirokane, as in the sword? Nine said he was looking for it but why would it be a cube when it was supposed to be a katana in its sealed form and what does it have to do with him getting a vessel? Unless of course, he wants to use it to directly attack Hakumen's spirit so he can take control of the Susano'o Unit. -

If Naoto died then Raquel must have died as well. After being bitten, Naoto is kept alive by Raquel's life force. Throughout BE he constantly survives lethal attacks because he is able to regenerate at the cost of Raquel's life force. Unless their connection was somehow severed, killing him would only be possible if he stole all of Raquel's life force first. Something had to have happened to make Clavis kill Naoto and Raquel's death would be a logical reason for that. Also consider the theory that Raquel somehow became Rachel or was connected in some way to Rachel's birth (and perhaps whatever Clavis did to accomplish this, or create Rachel at all, is what made him decay so quickly). Or maybe all of this has some connection to Mystery Guy who saved Raquel from Boundary-induced insanity and gave Naoto shadow limbs. It could also be the result of something happening to Naoto regarding him having the power of "The Dark One" (and therefore the Black Beast) in his right arm and since that arm was made of Raquel's blood, she might be related to that as well. That's all I've got. If anyone else has another explanation, I'm all ears. -

The Phase Shift novels only show the events of the first timeline. Not only is Rachel younger looking, she hasn't met Ragna yet in Phase 0. The time loop is weird when it comes to the events of the Dark War because for all intents and purposes it doesn't seem to be truly "part" of the loop since the events are fixed and only "happen" once. Because of the Time for Decision, Ragna went back to Phase 0 and was part of the Dark War only once from his perspective, but those events became fact in every single time loop. So the question is did Rachel really go back and experience those events where she could not have known Ragna and then have to fall into a coma for 50 years to gain knowledge she should already have or does she only watch those events from outside before only interacting in the events after she woke up (namely when she begins to stalk Ragna)? Furthermore does Terumi get sealed by Clavis, put under Mind Eater, and get tricked by Jubei and Hakumen into being sealed in the Boundary more than 700 times and thus leave just as many Kazuma's in the Boundary or did he only experience that once? Heck, since we only see the first timeline, if she did experience the Dark War each time do we know if Rachel looked as young as she did in Phase 0 in every other loop or did she retain her older appearance? But whether the events only "happened" once or 1000 times doesn't matter for Clavis. If they happened once, regardless of Clavis's Onlooker status he wouldn't be able to remember meeting Ragna because he had never done so before since he met Jin first and told him that line the very first time they met. And if the events happened again in each time loop, than Clavis cannot be an Onlooker because Onlookers exist to watch the world and are immune to Phenomenon Intervention because of it (hence why Rachel experienced all the time loops). Turning back time is done through Phenomenon Intervention, changing it so all of the events after a certain point "did not happen." Since Clavis would be immune to this change as an Onlooker, if he died he would stay dead because he would exist outside of the normal flow of the world. Remember how in CP after Terumi used Takamagahara to retcon away Ragna's fight with Nu, Ragna still retained the injuries because the Azure Grimoire retained the memory of them causing "scarring of the soul." This is the same situation up to 11. I have no idea what to think about Raquel because we don't know enough about her but she seems to be different from the other Alucards. Clavis is an Illusionary Creature made from a wish on the Azure and Rachel is supposedly a daughter he "gave birth to" in some way. However, Raquel was the manifestation of an Embryo he found, without him directly playing a part in her birth. She has a normal, if extremely high, life force value unlike Clavis and Rachel, who have immeasurable and no number respectively. The effects of Raquel biting Naoto and Rachel biting Ragna in the first timeline are completely different as well so she might be something completely different that doesn't follow the same rules as the others. -

Considering how Clavis went from young looking with an immeasurable life force to decrepit old man between the events of Bloodedge Experience and Phase Shift, the events you mentioned clearly were not the cause of his decay. He is never directly hinted at being an Observer in Phase 0, just that he is "observing the world" (as in looking at the events in it). And again the problem is that if he was an Observer and died, he could not have been revived in the subsequent time loops. In fact this would hint that Rachel being unable to interfere in the world is connected to her Vampire heritage as opposed to being an Observer/Onlooker since Amane is also interfering but with no consequences. Remember Izanami's last line to Rachel from the Act 3 trailer, "you human who was once an Observer." If Rachel does indeed become human, wouldn't that suggest she is losing her Vampire powers from her interfering and thus the two are in some way linked? Rachel is someone who loses power and eventually dies if she intervenes in the world but an Onlooker is just someone who is not supposed to intervene in the world, therefore the situation would be the opposite. Rachel became an Onlooker because she cannot act as opposed to not being able to act because she is an Onlooker. -

After checking, you are correct that he says it to both Ragna and Jin. However, Clavis has never been confirmed to be an Observer. In fact I would go so far as to say that it is impossible for him to be an Observer since he dies in each time loop. An Observer is a constant in the world who's state of being is unchanged by Phenomenon Intervention so if an Observer dies once they stay dead even if time is reset. Clavis Furthermore the Phase Shift novels depicts the events of the first timeline (since it is the exact same Ragna and Celica throughout) so Clavis still told that to Jin before he ever could have met Ragna. I also don't think it really matters that Phase 0 came out first because most of the Phase Shift series would have been planned out them and Mori would know the chronology of these events easily enough to not mix them up. -

Can't be Ragna. Clavis met Jin first. Ragna arrived in 2106 and Jin was already Hakumen at the time. -

They are all different things. Terumi and Kazuma/Hazama is about an artificial vessel for Terumi meant to be a complete fusion and required the hosts to have very similar souls to Terumi. It is a specific situation to Terumi created by Relius. Izanami is different because Saya doesn't have a similar soul and doesn't have any control. Terumi basically had to destroy her mind so Izanami could take control. Trinity is just hanging out with Jin like how the OPFD seems to be in Noel. -

There was a period of one month between the end of CS and the beginning of CP. CP and CF almost certainly have a much smaller gap (especially considering Terumi's Self-Observation time limit). However, much less actually happened between CS and CP compared to CP and CF. Everyone's ending in CS was basically "let's go to Ikaruga" and then everyone arrived in Ikaruga about a month later. Aside from the major players setting up their plans (Kagura and Kokonoe establishing a base, bringing Celica to the future, Litchi and Relius experimenting, opening all of the Cauldrons) not that many significant events happen. Basically CP picked up after a relatively event-less time skip but CF (at least in Arcade Mode) takes place in media res with a whole bunch of world changing stuff having happened. I was only referring to questions regarding events between CP and CF that led to the current situation. If we were to include all the questions about what is currently happening or will happen, the list never end. Does Tenjo really count as a "ghost?" He's a soul sealed inside the Phoenix: Rettenjou so he's not really dead and he probably can't manifest in a see through physical appearance that Ragna could see but not cut. Terumi is more of a ghost than Tenjo and Ragna can handle him. -

There are far more questions from between CP and CF than just that. What happened to the real world and all of the people who survived the initial seithr flood but are not Entitled and if they were also absorbed into the Embryo, how did that happen Why is Ragna no longer berserk, why was he brought into the Embryo before everyone else and why did he lose his memories How did Jin recover from his near-fatal injuries after fighting Berserk Ragna How did Trinity's soul wind up inside Jin How did Platinum survive getting stabbed by Hazama and is it connected to Trinity leaving them What happened to Bullet after she suddenly disappeared before the True Ending What happened to Arakune after he suddenly disappeared before the True Ending What happened to Tao after he suddenly disappeared before the True Ending When did the OPFD jump ship into Noel's head Where did Hakumen go after Izanami teleported him away in CP's True Ending How did Kushinada's Lynchpin end up inside the Embryo when it was hanging halfway into a Cauldron How did the Alucard Castle end up inside the Embryo How come Bang has Phoenix: Rettenjou when we clearly see that it is still sticking out of Kushinada's Lynchpin (and Tenjo's soul is still inside of one in the Lynchpin) What happened to Relius helping Carl restore Ada What about all of the non-playable characters that seem Entitled-worthy but are not present like Torakaka, Mai, Kajun or Taro And most importantly: How did everyone end up in the Embryo in the first place And this is just what I can think of right now. -

I have a hard time believing Lambda's CPEX ending is non-canon since they seem to be intentionally making a point of having the Arcade ending for the Extend characters fit into the canon timeline (Relius "kills" Hazama so Terumi can return to spirit form and infiltrate Takamagahara per the True Ending in CSEX and Celica's takes place in a "dream" while Kokonoe works on her before the events of the game in CPEX). Also, it is impossible from an in-universe persepctive for Lambda's ending to be made non-canon (as in they are events that happened but didn't stick because of time shenanigans) because there was no Phenomenon Intervention at the time and the Embryo hadn't begun the insane Entitled stuff we see in Act 1. If there was no kind of reset then this would be the first case of an event simply being retconned as if it never existed with no explanation in the entire series. Considering how 99% of the convoluted nature of this story exists specifically to prevent that from happening, I'm almost certain that there is an answer that we simply don't know yet. One thing to consider is that Lambda's ending is not the only thing that doesn't have an answer yet. There was also the scenes after the battle with JIn and Noel being heavily injured and Rachel telling Tsubaki to kill her if Ragna dies which I doubt will simply be forgotten. We don't even know for sure if Mu was swallowed by Berserk Ragna during the fight we see in CP, it could have been during a second fight, or maybe Noel did see something during that first fight but wasn't actually able to split until the Embryo battle happened (hence why she could still turn into Mu in Lambda's Arcade). Basically a lot of stuff needs to have happened before everyone magically got sucked into the Embryo so everything has enough wiggle room to fit together. Correct. Naoto explicitly confirms that Izanami is not Saya Terumi. This scene actually denies several related theories at once. It confirms that the physical body of Saya is not the same one as Saya Terumi in some way, it confirms that the spirit Izanami itself is not in any way a form of Saya Terumi and it confirms that Saya Terumi was never made into a vessel for Izanami (Izanami inherits her vessel's memories and some emotions, evident by her calling Ragna brother and her resentment of Terumi, but Izanami doesn't recognize Naoto, Saya Terumi's brother, at all). It is unclear at the moment exactly why Izanami couldn't move but I doubt it has any connection to Relius's modifications. My guess is that it is a result of Saya being confused by Naoto, who's presence is similar to her brother. People tend to single out this event as unique but there are many situations exactly like this, with people thinking Naoto is Ragna and acting unnaturally because of it (Nu's screaming breakdown and Rachel's never before seen rage to name a few). For the most part, these situations (as well as Naoto mistaken people for those he knows like Kiiro/Nu, Raquel/Rachel, Hero of Justice/Hakumen) are most likely about similarities and some kind of overlap as opposed to being directly the same person or thing. -

No, this is more confusing because it has no intuitive reasoning behind it (what makes Kisaragi better than calling her "Saya the Bloodedge" or "Saya Vermillion"). Just stick to "Saya" for Ragna's sister and only specify "Saya Terumi" for Naoto's sister or use something like BB!Saya and BE!Saya to specify which series they come from. BlazBlue Saya has been around for a lot longer than Saya Terumi so people are going to assume you're talking about her automatically unless you specify or make the context clear anyway. -

You mean nobody dies in the current events of the games. Kazuma, Tomonori, Eight, Ayame, Clavis, Tenjou, Akio, Spinner, Ripper, Acht, Drei, Unomaru and Sechs would like a word with you. -

I think we should stop all the shipping talk. It's getting out of hand and derailing the thread. -

Considering Carl himself saw Relius do whatever he did to Ada to put her in Nirvana, yes that is 100% confirmed. -

No, the OPFD's soul cannot have been in her since Ibukido. The Master Unit is currently empty and Rachel explicitly says the world will disappear if it returns to the Boundary in this state. Logically, this means that before Amaterasu appeared in the end of CP, it was occupied by the OPFD's soul (otherwise the world wouldn't exist in the first place). The very fact that it is now empty confirms that the soul cannot be in two places at once meaning it could not be in Noel when it was in the Master Unit. Having the soul from the beginning would open up a dozen issues like how Amaterasu could use Phenomenon Intervention at the time, how could the OPFD's soul survive in the timelines where Noel doesn't exist (and how could those timelines continue to 2199 without a reset) and why didn't always have the Eye of the Azure, which the OPFD already possessed? Noel only became the Successor of the Azure AFTER the time loop was broken, meaning the Master Unit chose her long after she had her own soul. Not sure what you mean with Hazama and Clavis. They still have souls. Hazama's artificial body was made with one but it has nothing to do with the Azure Grimoire (Kazuma also had a soul and his body wasn't a Grimoire) and Clavis is a materialization of Azure, which is pretty much made of souls. -

That's just the problem. The Godslayer kills gods. Izanami can't be killed because she is already death itself. If there is some other way to destroy her, it wouldn't be with anything related to the concept of death (Godslayer, Time Killer, Immortal Breaker). Izanami is not Noel's Drive, she is the OPFD's Drive. Noel currently has the soul of the OPFD inside her but she is not the same person as the girl in the Master Unit. Izanami existed before Noel was even made. -

No, Ragna became a full Black Beast, the narration flat out says the Black Beast returned and another Dark War occurred (although shorter because humanity was ready). Where are you getting this from? The only thing that actually draws on the Black Beast from the Boundary is the Original Grimoire. The other ones are completely separate entities with no connection. They are not summoning it, otherwise how could it leave behind its own corpse? Every single Nox Nine created had the potential to become its own Black Beast. The ways of becoming a Black Beast vary significantly. The reason Touya's was so weak is because Es was able to kill him before the transformation was complete. Touya probably would have become just as bad if given the time. As said above, it doesn't just take them, it's simply that humanity already has Ars Magus and is much stronger and was able to more swiftly deal with the threat. It was more about the level of humanity as a whole than the few characters fighting. I will concede that Ragna needed the Tsukuyomi to travel through the Boundary. However, we don't know if that was meant to just protect his body, protect his mind, or possibly even to prevent the Cauldron from smelting him into a Black Beast when he dives in. It's never been said that Jin was modified to become a vessel for the Power of Order. The Power of Order seems to choose its host on its own and I doubt it could be artificially induced. Plus, since Relius is heavily hinted to have been connected to the lab Jubei found the three of them in, why would he create a vessel for the Power of Order when that would only hinder his plans? They have no connection to a Terumi vessel. Not only could Relius already create them (he made Kazuma before the Black Beast was unleashed) but a key component of them is that they have to be extremely close to Terumi in mind and soul, which Ragna certainly isn't. Did Relius plan for Jubei to rescue the kids? He's not psychic and even Terumi wouldn't know it would happen in the first loop so Terumi making Ragna hate him seems like more of a side-effect of recovering Saya than a deliberate move. My personal theory is that Terumi used Nu to create the Azure Grimoire that would be used to make Hazama's body. Reason being only Terumi can make the Grimoire so even if Relius made Hazama's body, he would need an Azure Grimoire from Terumi and it would be impossible for Terumi to make the Grimoire that would become his vessel if he didn't have a vessel to let him physically make the Grimoire in the first place. Therefore I guess he made it at this point, which is the only time he had a vessel and freedom to create it. Nu would probably be able to provide him with the tools to improve on his prototype. Considering the OPFD even gaining a soul in the first place was unprecedented and it was made to be a soulless doll, I doubt the scientists bothered to give it a name. One theory I've heard is that Relius is the father of the three, since he is implied to be connected to the lab Jubei found them in and thus had a role in their creation. They all do have blonde hair after all. Whether any of the three were human to begin with and biologically related or are considered siblings because they were together from creation is unknown. From what we know all we can say is that we can most likely call him an "artificial human." Considering the point is made about Noel that she is no less of a person even if she was made as a "doll," Rachel telling him to live as a human probably just means that he should consider himself human and live as one regardless of his origins. Rachel bit Ragna in the first timeline. I don't think it's been 100% confirmed that the Wheel of Fortune is the first timeline, just that the Jin who canonically popped out of the Boundary in 2099 to always become Hakumen comes from that timeline. Theoretically this could have been from any number in the loop as long as it could get outside but based on the nature of the loop, I think it's probable that Wheel of Fortune Jin appeared before the start of the loop in 2100 specifically because he comes from the first Phase. If that's the case, being bitten didn't give him any special powers and he was exactly the same as before. We can't say for certain that the rules of Naoto's vampirism apply to Ragna because Rachel and Raquel don't even seem to be the same type of creature. In fact all of the Alucard vampires seem to work differently from each other. At the very least, we know that Rachel didn't make a connection with Ragna to feed him her life force like Raquel did with Naoto. I'm pretty sure even if it was a different timeline than what we saw he had no powers and even if he did, it evidently didn't change anything.
