  1. I still don't think Bell was meant to house to souls. Otherwise, why would Platinum's existence become unstable in CF?
  2. I'm a bit confused by this. According to CF Jubei and Trinity were originally planning for Trinity to take this body before they discovered Luna and Sena near death so wouldn't that suggest Bell was originally meant to only hold one soul? Also how is Trinity there? I thought she had to inhabit stay in a Nox. Is she in Musashi at the moment or does someone there have Muchorin?
  3. I'm aware that the BlazBlue and XBlaze Izayoi's are very different (hence why I specified the spear). That is because they are two different weapons, even if they both exist in the same world. Remember the terms Murakumo and Kusanagi are also reused. All the Sealed Weapon: Izayoi means is that Armagus in some form existed before Nine's time. She did say she was "reviving" the technique after all.
  4. Yes, we do know this is true. In Mai's arcade mode she sees Platinum and calls her Bell, before remembering she goes by Platinum now. Why would she think Platinum is Bell unless that is Bell's body. Furthermore, when Jubei and Trinity explain Platinum's origin they mention that the vessel was empty, meaning Bell's soul is not in the body. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure they say Luna and Sena are humans near death, so how could Luna be Bell? No, Tsubaki has the original Izayoi. There is no replica. In CF Nine also says that Izayoi was one of the weapons that was used during the Prime Field War, which coincides with Phase Shift where she goes into more detail about it. In Phase Shift 3 Chapter 1 she mentions the war several hundred years ago fought against something conventional weapons could not work against. I will provide a few quotes. This is also where it is confirmed that Hihiirokane was made before the war with Izayoi (in the Age of Origin). "I've found the weapon that had been used to fight that something in Ishana." A weapon created by humanity to fight the something that couldn't be damaged by conventional weapons at start. "Your village has the same kind of weapon, doesn't it?" Her question was directed to Jubei. He was deeply aware that Nine didn't have any ill intention, but Jubei unconsciously frowned. "Hihi'irokane..." The ancient weapon itself originated from the age of beginning and had been handed down within Jubei's family. It wasn't currently in the possession of Jubei's family for a reason, but Jubei never knew that it was intended to fight that something which resembled Black Beast. "The one I found in Ishana was more recently made. According to the few remains of record, its name is..." Before Nine could tell the name of the relic... "...The Sealed Weapon Izayoi." Hakumen murmured and shook the heavy atmosphere. This is the Izayoi that would be passed down the Yayoi family and is the weapon that Nine based the Nox of off. Furthermore, even if Legacy Weapons were made during the Prime Field War, that doesn't mean all of them were from that time. Nothing confirms whether or not Izayoi (the spear), Murakumo, Kusanagi or Outseal specifically came from the Prime FIeld War when this type of thing has existed since long before that, as proven by Hihiirokane.
  5. Do we know Outseal was made during the Prime Field War? I thought only Izayoi was confirmed to be made during it. Hihiirokane was made before it in the Age of Origin and I'm pretty sure the timeframe for the creation of all the Legacy Weapons (including the original Outseal) is still unknown. I might be wrong about this but if you could provide a source that'd be great. I think the problem (even if I don't agree with it) is that Variable Heart is a monthly series. 3 chapters feels like a really long time because the fights been going on for 3 months from our perspective. I'm sure it will feel much more naturally paced on reread once it's completed.
  6. Here's Amatsumugi/Zedar's summary of chapter 10. Do you seriously think it will be that long? Variable Heart will probably be around the same length as Remix Heart, which was 25 chapters if I remember correctly. Regardless, the fight seems to be winding down since Mai is the only one who can make the kill and only has one or two shots of Outseal left. I imagine it will be no more than two chapters before the fight is over. Honestly this manga doesn't seem like it's going to have that much more happen in it. There are only three things that we still need to see. How Meifang ends up being defeated. How Bell ends up in the state that she will be in for Jubei and Trinity to put Luna and Sena's souls inside her empty body. How Mai ends up staying with Sector Seven and what happens with Taro and Shiori as a result. They can easily do that in 15 chapters.
  7. 1. I'm not sure what symbolism you think there is with Nu taking the sword. The only symbolism currently involved with Blood-Scythe is Ragna's connection to Rachel since it has her hair ribbons tied around it, which is literally the each character's most iconic item tied to each other. As for Nu's recovery, I don't think time is a factor. The issue isn't about physical recovery, it's that Nu is emotionally and mentally broken. She has lost the only thing of value in her life and doesn't even know that she's lost it. Remember her bio. Hobbies: thinking about Ragna. Values: Ragna. Likes: Ragna. Dislikes: everything else. Without Ragna there is nothing to so much as drive her to get out of bed. In the scene she is basically catatonic. Rewatch the ending scene. Nu doesn't even so much as blink when there is wind blowing in her face, she is completely unresponsive. That's not something that can simply be fixed by time. 2. I don't actually think the world really changed when Ragna created "possibility." From what we see the only things that actually happened is the people who were turned into seithr and became the Embryo have been restored and the world is able to move forward without any of the various resets that have happened throughout the series. None of that suggests a "restart" that changed the past in any way. Ikaruga was still destroyed, Jin is still unable to fight anymore etc. In fact, changing the past would inherently go against what Ragna was trying to do, create a future that people walk towards instead of trying to look back all the time. Remember "leave no regret behind." Whatever state Alpha was in or however it does or does not make sense, Ragna's actions probably have nothing to do with it. Honestly it could be as easy as she popped out of the Boundary in this time period like how Naoto got in.
  8. Ah the dreaded Alpha-01 discussion. I'm kidding. Since the ending text has the Greek letter for alpha in it this is the first time where discussing her is anything more than pure crack theory. Alpha is a very real possibility in the future. To me, the sword disappearing hints at one of two possible things. One, Alpha-01 (since she was wielding Blood-Scythe, or at least something similar to it, in her first artwork) or two, Ragna still exists in the real world somehow. Personally I like the second theory because of how it ties into Rachel's journey (and I hate the idea of someone else taking the sword now that it has Rachel's ribbons tied around it, making it a symbol of her connection to Ragna) but I do not find the first one any less valid. However I highly doubt it's in any way connected to Nu. Nu didn't seem like she was recovering, she seemed near-catatonic after losing the only thing that gave her life meaning (her memories of Ragna). Furthermore, I don't think it makes any sense for the 13th Prime Field Device to "awaken" as the 1st. If we ever do see Alpha it will be as her own character. Note that we have also seen Gamma-03's art as well so it's not like anything suggests Alpha is anything but what her name implies, unit number 1 (at least of those made in the current world).
  9. Huh, I never even noticed that she disappeared from in front of the Azure Gate in the last shot of it. Thanks for pointing that out. Who knows what happened to her. I doubt even Mori knows this one since absolutely no effort or thought was put into Es's inclusion in CF (which is strange since all they would need to do is have her post-LM version pulled into this world after her possibility disappeared exactly like what happened to Naoto). Earlier she said some stuff (that I can't really remember) about how she must complete her duty of guarding the gate regardless of her personal interests which would suggest she should stay there. Does that mean her role has ended? If this Es is a "clone" so to speak made by the Azure she would have nowhere to return to since presumably there is the original Es living happily after LM. I doubt we'll ever get the answer to that along with the near-infinite number questions regarding Es because apparently it isn't important enough.
  10. I don't think Carl has any memories of Ragna. It's implied that we only see a few of the people Ragna steals "desires" from and he got around to the rest of the cast offsceen. Plus it seems that whatever he did inside with the Azure at the end is what actually caused everyone to forget about him. As for Ada coming back, that's not how Ragna's use of the desires worked. Ragna created a world of "possibilities" but didn't magically grant everyone's wish. Otherwise the Ikaruga Civil War wouldn't have happened per Bang's wish (we know it still did because Bang was starting to rebuild it in the ending). His goal being pure or not doesn't matter. You know the saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions." Carl is willing to do whatever it takes to restore Ada. In Act 3 of arcade mode he was perfectly willing to kill Noel to have his wish granted. He has also shown signs of seeing people as objects like Relius does. Even Relius himself has commented that Carl could surpass him and when Relius thinks something like that it means he sees Carl as walking along the same road. Furthermore, I would argue that Relius isn't actually a sadist. Terumi is a sadist because he actively takes pleasure in other people's suffering. Relius on the other hand simply does not care. He does exactly what he thinks is an appropriate action to acquire the data he seeks and only does so for as long as it interests him. He didn't hang Ada, he left her exactly as she was while he was experimenting on her because he got bored. Relius is nothing but a pure pursuit of science without anything to hold him back and Carl has already taken the first steps towards that same mindset. The only difference is their goals (Relius wants to create the perfect doll while Carl wants to make Ada human again) but that doesn't change anything.
  11. Yeah you're going to have to give me a source for that because I've never heard it and it's a pretty big claim. Even if that is true that is pretty stupid. Just because we know they're a thing it doesn't mean it isn't nice to actually see it happen onscreen. There is nothing redundant about a cute happy ending, especially for someone like Jin who doesn't show happiness much. I swear Japanese media has this weird aversion towards romantic resolution, no matter how blatantly a ship is teased. The only exception seems to be when they do a time skip to feature the children of those characters (yet another reason why I want Jin and Tsubaki's kid to be the new protagonist).
  12. Helping Platinum does not make him a protagonist. While the action might be considered "good" by us, Carl was doing it entirely for selfish reasons. He wanted to learn more about artificial bodies and souls, that's it. It's still part of his pursuit of knowledge that is leading him down the Relius path.
  13. While interaction between the two is inevitable (they are currently in the same location and will most likely still be once the battle ends), romantic resolution is unlikely. We know Mai disappears to go to Sector Seven and taro doesn't. Even if something happened it won't last. This is BlazBlue, where no one can have romantic resolution. Even the most unquestionably canon pairings (JinXTsubaki and TouyaXEs) are never shown getting together onscreen.
  14. Everyone brings up the end of LM with Watashi trying to patch things with her father up as a discrepancy with Nine's hatred of her father but in reality it isn't. Remember Watashi was willing to try reconciling with her father. We never see how that actually goes and considering the actions Shuichiro Ayatsuki will take in the future, it makes perfect sense for Watashi's good will to be gone by the time of BlazBlue. The loss of his wife broke Father, leading to the experiments he performed on her corpse, which leads perfectly into the evil experiments he would do in the future. Between Amane's Astral on Nine and Celica, win quotes implying the two know Es, Nine's conveniently covered eye that glows in her Astral and Imouto flat out appearing in the cutscene where Ragna defeats Nine, we can say 100% that Watashi and Imouto are the BlazBlue versions of Nine and Celica.
  15. If Es is just confusing current people for those from her timeline a la Naoto she is wording it very poorly. Why would the people she cherishes dearly be search terms like that? As for whether this Es knows Nine and Celica, Es's origins are completely unknown due to Susano'o saying she was "created by the Azure." Since the Azure can do basically whatever it wants this Es could be based on either pre-LM Es or post-LM Es and it wouldn't make a difference. Either the Azure gives her a new Murakumo or a new Embryo but it has to give her one of those. But regardless of whether or not this Es does remember them, the point is Es should remember them because otherwise LM was completely pointless. What makes you think they are part of the fake history? Nothing about the changes that did occur to the Embryo timeline are in any way connected to Ragna's actions as the Grim Reaper. The arcade mode is also from the fake history so that is no more trustworthy. In fact, I would argue that in any discrepancy between story and arcade mode, story mode should always be treated as more canon. In both cases the list is really long and gets cut off but the story mode list is longer. Also, the way that arcade quote is worded it sounds like those 500 injured were just in reference to the result of destroying the 10 satellite facilities, not his overall total number of casualties. Most importantly, why would they add in such a number just to have it not be true? It's too important a detail to just be a throwaway, especially when there is nothing to make it clear to the audience that it is a result of the Embryo's history. As you said in another post, it is too convenient that his actions would result in zero deaths, which is why I don't believe that is the case. He might not have directly murdered anyone, but the people he injured were screwed when he destroyed the Cauldrons/NOL branches and they had no way to get to safety.
  16. I think that's more an issue with the win quotes in general as opposed to Variable Heart specifically. Those examples are far from the worst for not making sense. Just look at all of Es's quotes. They seem to imply that Es doesn't have any of her memories since she keeps getting search terms related to XBlaze that do not compute but story mode explicitly says she remembers those precious to her. Also Nine seems has absolutely no issue trying to murder her first and closest friend (although Es's quote against her at least implies she knows since Es says her eyes look sad). I wouldn't be surprised if the win quotes were written by some of the supporting writers without Mori ever looking at them. However, I will disagree with you on Platinum finding Mai familiar. Platinum should not remember Mai at all. Bell is a different soul from Luna and Sena and according to Jubei and Trinity's explanation, was lost before Luna and Sena entered her body. Luna and Sena don't have anything that should make Mai familiar to them. To be fair, CF undid that backtracking hard. When Kagura lists off Ragna's crimes in story mode, he says Ragna is responsible for a LOT of deaths (it was either 2000 or 20000, I can't remember which). Even if they removed the implication that he went around intentionally slaughtering people, that's still pretty damn villainous.
  17. I'm personally in the Jin and Tsubaki's kid camp. Partly because of shipping reasons and partly because it's the best way to have the main character still be connected to the previous cast. I can't see any of the current cast becoming the protagnist since most of their stories have ended. Jin can no longer fight, Noel is living a peaceful life etc. I doubt we're going to follow Naoto in the main series. While his story is far from over, he is a spin-off character and his journey will remain told in spin-offs. The only person in the cast that might have protagonist potential is Rachel since the epilogue shows her starting a journey to reunite with Ragna but at this point she's near-powerless so I don't see her being the lead in a fighting game or such. A brand new protagonist is possible but I'd prefer to have the main character maintain a link to what has come before. There's bound to be a whole bunch of unconnected new characters anyway.
  18. I know it's been nearly a month since you asked the question but since I just got back out from under my rock I figured I'd say my piece. The way I see it there are two possibilities. One is that Mori didn't take Variable Heart into as much consideration as necessary when writing Central Fiction (this is evidenced by Mai not recognizing Ragna in her victory quote despite meeting him twice already). Aside from the most important things like Mai having Outseal, joining Sector Seven and Bell being Platinum's body he might have just forgot about the super taste thing. The other, more positive, reason is that something might happen over the course of Variable Heart that restores Mai's super taste. We do know Mai retains her Blank Grimoire powers in CF since Kokonoe wanted her to stay away from Ragna's Azure Grimoire but it's possible her body still changed in some way.
  19. Guess who's back!!!!!!!!! We have absolutely no idea what happened to Ragna in the end so we can't say that he's floating in the Boundary. He might be inside the Master Unit with his "sister" or he might have disappeared completely when he became "possibility." Blood-Scythe missing from the grave at the end might even imply that he's still around in the new world but we have no guarantee that someone else didn't take it. That said if we ever do get a sequel to these events the fact that the last thing we see is Rachel beginning a journey to reunite with Ragna suggests that he is in a situation where he can return somehow (assuming they're not just teasing us like with Elizabeth's journey to save Minato/Makoto in Persona so far). It's not that different a situation from Es at the end of Code: Embryo where it seemed like she could not return without ending the world but Lost: Memories solved that problem. What I want to know is what the hell is up with this version of Es because nothing about her is explained. She isn't even consistent between story mode and her victory quotes since she remembers those important to her in the former but seems confused when her data brings up searches regarding her past in the later. She never even mentions who those loved ones are by name. The closest we get is her finding Makoto familiar, clearly reminding Es of Yuki Himezuru like Makoto reminds Naoto of Yuki Hayami (who may or may not be the same person). The only clue we get about her origin is Susano'o saying she was "created by the Azure" which suggests she is in some way a different version than the XBlaze Es created by Unomaru. My best guess is that the Azure created this Es based off the one inside the World of the Tsukuyomi in between CE and LM since she is still the Embryo Storage and has memories of the XBlaze cast but doesn't recognize Nine in her victory quote (by the way, the fact that Es has no interaction with Nine and Celica rendered Watashi and Imouto's appearance in LM entirely pointless). If this is the case Es's Murakumo was probably also created by the Azure, which would explain why it suddenly has a sheath that can absorb seithr.
  20. And I think this is where I'll take my leave. Time to live under a rock. See you all when I can get a used copy of the English version. P.S. While I'll be in spoiler dodging mode 24/7 I'll try to keep up to date on the dub situation but if anything does happen and it gets announced while I'm gone please send me a message. If that happens before I play the game, I'll be gone the additional 6-8 months it takes for the dub so I can get the perfect first experience. Bye.
  21. Well I certainly wasn't expecting to get a bombshell like this before I disappeared from the face of the internet. I'm not mad because it's about a playable character and I would have found out anyway when I tried to look up the new Astral Heats. Also, while it is a big and dramatic reveal, we kinda all knew it was coming since Act 2. Terumi's been saying he wants the Susano'o Unit back for a while, he obtained Hihiirokane to get the vessel, there was a new crest that had Hakumen's Magatama in it and of course we saw him in the opening. We needed something like this to give us a final boss. As has been mentioned previously, Izanami being playable so early made it unlikely she could fit the bill since it wouldn't be dramatic enough. After they surprised us with Take-Mikazuchi in CP, they wouldn't go back to something so obvious. Plus, ultimately it should be Terumi who Ragna fights at the end of his story. Terumi is the one who single-handedly ruined Ragna's life and brought him to this point in the first place. We also saw Terumi and Ragna clash in the final shot of the opening, hinting that it would be the climax. It certainly seems necessary after all the complaints in CP about Terumi being shoved to the side and unceremoniously "killed off" while Izanami took his place after he was presented as the ultimate threat in the first two games. Also, while it has been overshadowed by this madness, something interesting appeared from the Mori interview brought up in the News and Gameplay thread. "Regarding a sequel, he said that he thinks you’ll understand if you play the story mode. Es, Naoto, Hazama, and Relius say significant things." The fact that all of those characters are in some way related to the events from before the Dark War (assuming this Hazama is connected to the one from BE) makes it looks like we might be moving in a very different direction after all of this. Not sure how to feel about that.
  22. What are you talking about? This period of time never existed. The instant Es purged her memories out of despair she became Nobody (who is very different) and the Memory Fragments caused the World of the Tsukuyomi's transformation into the Phantom Field. This is also impossible because her win quotes have confirmed that Es still has her memories and that she finds Celica familiar, meaning she had to have met Imouto. Furthermore, Es can not have been removed from the Phantom Field at any time before Lost: Memories since the Embryo must remain inside it for it to exist. Since the Phantom Field still exists as Nine's stage, it must be an Es from after she left Nobody's empty shell behind to maintain it. The same Master Unit maintains the XBlaze world. We see it in the end of Code: Embryo. The Master Unit is the one thing whose Observation is maintaining all of the alternate worlds since they are all linked via possibilities. The only difference with the XBlaze world is that the Phantom Field physically cuts it off from the Boundary so no one can enter via Cauldron. Also, since Es has been chosen to be the guardian of the Azure and has specifically mentioned that she is following the Will of the Azure, we can logically conclude that the Will of the Azure itself chose Es as the gatekeeper.
  23. I have not been here enough recently. Especially since I'm going to hide under a rock once CF is released in Japan in a few days. Time to catch up. This is really cool! Thanks for the hard work. However, their are some points that don't seem quite right to me or could use a little more detail. Sorry if this sounds rude, just trying to help. I'll break it down by page for the sake of convenience. Timeline Part One: The Dark War Begins Not every event that comes before the modern era is part of the Age of Origin. It is unclear exactly when the Age of Origin was but it does not encompass all of those things. The only events that have been confirmed to be in the Age of Origin are the first war against a something outside of the Logic and the creation of the Hihiirokane to fight it. The events involving the Azure Shrine Maiden might have been in the Age of Origin as well since she lived "before recorded history" but that's unconfirmed. Similarly, the creation of Legacy Weapons and Terumi's time in the Susano'o Unit could fit but we have no confirmation. I would split this section into two. One for the specific Age of Origin stuff and one for the events at an indeterminate time in the distant past. The two hidden wars are actually explained in Chapter 1 of Phase Shift 3 (which is translated), not Phase Shift 4. The Izayoi was created during the second war against a "something" outside of the Logic (the one a few hundred years ago). You can combine those two together. Can you tell me where it says the Magic Guild safeguarded the Embryo, because I don't remember that. It also doesn't sound quite right because of things in XBlaze I will get to later. You should add that Hihiirokane was created during the Age of Origin war. Due to Terumi acquiring it and his intended use of it to become Dark Susano'o, it is pretty important to Central Fiction. 2040s (According to XBlaze) I'll now get into detail about the Embryo. According to Lost: Memories (specifically the "Green" Memory Fragments), Hinata was not always the Embryo. She was kidnapped by the Takamagahara Organization at a young age and experimented on to become the Embryo. This is why I don't the Magic Guild held onto it. Takamagahara created it and approached the Magic Guild to use the Original Grimoire they had. Unomaru creating Es takes place in 2045 (her birthday being October 15 specifically). It should be moved further down the timeline since it comes after the Wadatsumi Incident. A bit more detail about Sechs. He doesn't technically want to "destroy the world." He wants to flood the world with seithr because, after learning that he was an artificial human created by Sorcery, he believes that the world is inherently imbalanced by humanity and wants to turn humanity into a big ball of souls so that life and death will be in balance and the world will be "perfect." This event should also be moved to the end of the section since it happened shortly before Code: Embryo (it might even be in 2050 but I can't remember). At the very least, it needs to come after Ringo leaves the Magic Guild since it is her disappearance that pushes Drei to follow Sechs in the first place. 2050s (According to XBlaze) I wouldn't say Hinata "gradually learns the secrets of her origins." While Unomaru forces her memories to awaken, after Es inherits the Embryo she makes Hinata into a normal human and erases her memories of being the Embryo so she is in the dark about that in the end, Es doesn't send Touya into any old alternate world to fight Sechs. She sends him to the first timeline, before Hinata used any Phenomenon Intervention (the XBlaze equivalent of Phase 0). This is why he is so much weaker, he hadn't gotten Kusanagi's power boost from the Embryo's use. I don't think it's a good idea to say Es is using the power of the Azure. Her power is the Embryo which, while a crystallization of the Azure, is often talked about as something different so the distinction should be kept to prevent confusion (at least when talking about the Es we see in XBlaze, the version in Central Fiction clearly uses the power of the Azure). You should probably add that Es creates the World of the Tsukuyomi, which would later become the Phantom Field, to seal the XBlaze world from the rest of the Boundary at this time. Since it is in Central Fiction as Nine's stage it's important. Es didn't "gain enough power of the Azure." Creating the World of the Tsukuyomi drained most of the Embryo's power. It was Watashi who allows her to return by using the seithr her Original Grimoire absorbed from the Memory Fragments and Nobody's Phantom Memories to power the Embryo. In addition to healing the the Unions Touya, Mei and Es create their new organization to find and destroy all the Cauldrons to prevent anything like Unomaru's plan from happening again (Touya destroys the Wadatsumi Gate at this time). 2090s Might want to add the circumstances of Nine and Celica's births as an important event. Specifically Celica being born with the power to suppress seithr and Nine having the ability to attract it, forcing her father to create a replica of the Original Grimoire to safely absorb the seithr. Nine/Watashi technically ends up in the Phantom Field, which is a buffer dimension between the XBlaze world and the Boundary, not the Boundary itself. Celica/Imouto also meets with Es (when she was Nobody, Celica never learns about Es). This is why Celica only finds her vaguely familiar in her Central Fiction win quote against her. We don't have a time frame for the events of Bloodedge Experience so we can't say 2090s for sure. In fact I would guess it is closer to 2070's based on the setting. TOi is still popular, Yuki Himezuru (who was 26 in 2050) is implied to be Yuki Hayami, Haruka's mother (since Haruka is 16 in BE, having those events in 2090s would make Yuki at least 50 when she had Haruka), the Mitsurugi Agency is still prominent and Relius seems too young in BE for him to have been One in the same decade (in terms of experience and his appearance seen in his Act 1 arcade). You should probably add in the events of Bloodedge Experience since they explain Naoto's backstory. Here are what I think are the most important details. Two years BE Clavis killed someone possessed by the Soul Eater Drive and found the Embryo that became Raquel. In BE proper, Naoto loses his right arm and gets mortally wounded saving Raquel from one of Spinner Superior's Apostles. Raquel makes a contract with him to save him by biting him, turning him into a vampire that feeds off her life force in exchange for him helping her to find the Azure. Raquel also makes a new arm for Naoto out her own blood. Naoto loses his left arm and right leg fighting Spinner and Relius makes him artificial replacements. Terminology Part Two: For the Dark War Prime Fields are confirmed to be made out of seithr by Kokonoe in Kagura's Act 3. Blooodedge Experience also had it's own variation of Prime Field in Kiiro Hikagami, called the Dimension Boundary Contact Prime Field Device ES. It should be said that fusing an Azure Grimoire with a Murakumo Unit is not the only way to create a Black Beast. There is one that has been in the Boundary for an insanely long amount of time (the one the Azure Shrine Maiden released), the Original Grimoire can becomes one if it goes berserk and Arakune is becoming one by absorbing the Nox. In fact, since a Black Beast is just an out of control Cauldron, it can be created in the same way the Nox Nyctores were (before the core of a Nox is complete it literally is a mini-Black Beast. Timeline Part Two: The Dark War AD 2100 Where do you get that Jin popped out of the Cauldron one month after the Black Beast appeared? Jin arrived on December 31, 2099, the same day as the Black Beast. Jin had to have popped out of the Cauldron before the start the time loop since the Jin who becomes Hakumen is always the same one (the one from Wheel of Fortune). Like the Black Beast itself, their is exactly one version of Hakumen that made it out of the events of Calamity Trigger (like with Ragna/Nu fusion Black Beasts, in all other timelines where Jin follows them into the Cauldron they are still destroyed by Take-Mikazuchi). AD 2107 Nine putting Terumi under Mind Eater is shown in Phase Shift 1, not 2. AD 2110 Not all of the remaining Nox get their cores removed. Ouroboros keeps its core. AD 2112 to AD2190 Before Saya gave Yukianesa to Jin she got it from Terumi. Since he couldn't get past the barrier around the church, he lured her to the edge, destroyed her mind and had her give the sword to Jin so it would weaken the barrier. It's also safe to assume this happens in 2192, not long before Terumi attacks the church. Timeline Part Three: Ikaruga Civil War AD 2192 IMPORTANT! MAJOR MISCONCEPTION! Rachel only bites Ragna in one timeline (most likely the first). In every other one he only needs the Azure Grimoire to keep him alive. Hazama has a small bit of backstory in that Relius created him before the Dark War like Kazuma. Presumably Relius left him turned off in a closet for about 100 years. AD 2196 Might be a good idea to add a few details about Remix Heart. Particularly that Seifer Albar creates an incomplete Crimson Grimoire that Hazama takes. Since Nine's Overdrive is called Burning Red (the alternate name of the Crimson Grimoire) this could come into play in Central Fiction. Timeline Part Four: Calamity Trigger AD 2199/12/31 (The Time Loop) IMPORTANT! MAJOR MISCONCEPTION! Noel does not only exist in the True Ending timeline. The presence of Noel itself is not the key, it's her specific actions. Every single Calamity Trigger arcade mode and story route that Noel appears is a different loop that has Noel present in it. For the most specific example of how we know this is NOT true, in Slight Hope (which takes place in a a timeline without Noel), Terumi tells Makoto that he "damn near peed himself" when Makoto mentioned Noel since it meant she wasn't from that timeline. Since this timeline obviously came before the loop ended in the True Ending, it would be impossible for Terumi to even know who Noel Vermillion is if she hadn't existed in previous timelines. In fact, Mu survives the Ikubido blast in WAY MORE times than she dies. Timelines like Wheel of Fortune and Slight Hope (if they're not the same one) are actually a rarity. The reason Terumi is so mad about Makoto's interference in Slight Hope is because a Noel-less timeline is so rare and she screwed up his one in a million chance. IMPORTANT! MAJOR MISCONCEPTION! Ragna does not confront Nu and fall into the Cauldron in every single timeline. Before the true ending, destiny said "if Ragna reaches Cauldron then he and Nu fuse" but that does not mean it always happens. Every single arcade and story mode in Calamity Trigger is either an alternate timeline or an event that is part of the True Ending (namely Bang's where he supposedly dies in the NOL Branch explosion) and in many of those the other characters are the ones who reach Nu. Heck, one of Ragna's endings has him flat out walk away from everything after fighting Hakumen. IMPORTANT! MAJOR MISCONCEPTION! Sorry to do this so much here but these are very important and confusing elements. The Master Unit is always the one to actually cause the Phenomenon Intervention that resets the time loop, not Takamagahara. What Takamagahara does however is force Amaterasu to do this since it ALWAYS nukes Kagutsuchi with Take-Mikazuchi (this is the only true constant). Hazama does exist in the Wheel of Fortune timeline. We very clearly see him. In fact it's utterly impossible for there to be a timeline without Hazama since Terumi needs him to be a host body (he can only last a week Observing himself). He's even on the cover. Timeline Part Five: Continuum Shift AD 2200/01 I'm almost positive Kokonoe wasn't trying to create a Kusanagi. That would require an Azure Grimoire and Kokonoe has made it clear she considers it worthless. She just wanted to use a Murakumo Unit against Terumi, no Godslayer elements involved. Smelting Noel into a Kusanagi does not take place at a Cauldron in a Kagutsuchi Cathedral. It is done with the Monolith that is located at the top of Kagutsuchi's NOL Branch. At some point before the main events of Calamity Trigger, Hazama used his Azure Grimoire to sacrifice the souls of everyone in the branch to power the Monolith (this is why the branch was deserted). Timeline Part Six: Chronophantasma AD 2200/01 Kokonoe's initial plan is not to remove all seithr with Kushinada's Lynchpin. She only wanted to use the Lynchpin directly on the Imperator herself (since her vessel is made of seithr it would be destroyed and Izanami's soul sealed inside). Putting the Lynchpin in the Boundary to rid the world of seithr would have been a catastrophe since most of the technology in the BlazBlue world is powered by seithr (in the end of the Sector Seven story Relius tells Bang about this possibility and Bang says it would be the end of the world). The only reason they did this in the True Ending was because it was a last resort and the other option would be for the entire world to be flooded with seithr and all of humanity having its souls absorbed. The attack Hakumen uses to defeat Terumi is called "Time Killer," not "Time Eater." You should probably add that Rachel and Noel are able to help Lambda restore herself inside the Embryo from her Extend arcade. It's important. Es The events of XBlaze take place in an alternate timeline 2050, with the events of Watashi and Imouto in the real world taking place in mainline 2090s. Everything in the Phantom Field happens outside of time. A general rule for comparing the BlazBlue and XBlaze worlds is that everything that happened before the Wadatsumi Incident in 2040 can be reasonably assumed to have happened in both timelines. Watashi confirms that the difference between her and Es's timeline is that her world has no record of the Wadatsumi Incident so all of the events that result from that (the Original Grimoire becoming Touya, Es being created and the main plots of the games) didn't happen in the main timeline. Anything before that like the story of the Azure Shrine Maiden, Sechs figuring out how to use Sorcery to manipulate gravity and the tension between the Magic Guild and Amanohokosaka clan most likely happened and anyone who was alive before then like Mei, Marcelyn F. Mercury (Nine and Celica's ancestor), Yuki and Kuon definitely exist in the main world. One specific example is that we know that the Original Grimoire exists in the BlazBlue world (and the Magic Guild almost certainly had it) since Shuichirou Ayatsuki was able to make a replica of it for Nine. The Will of the Azure seems to be something different from the Master Unit. The Master Unit is currently empty and whoever was inside it is in some way Noel at the moment and wiped her own memory. She's in no position to guide Es. The Azure is the collection of all souls and the foundation of the world itself whereas the Master Unit is just a tool with god powers. The Azure is something that goes far beyond the Master Unit. We do know that Central Fiction Es has buried memories of the people she met in XBlaze (specifically Touya who only exists in that timeline) and she can vaguely recall Celica (who she met as Nobody) so it's safe to say this is XBlaze Es (although clearly something odd happened to her). Plus let's be honest, what would be the point of bringing in Es and not having it be the one from her own series, especially when that one met two members of the current cast? Naoto Kurogane We cannot say that Hazama "rightfully exists." All we know at the moment is that someone named Hazama who looks similar (but is described as younger) exists in Naoto's world. We have no idea if the two are the same person or are even in any way connected. Similarly, we don't know that Rachel Alucard doesn't exist, just that she isn't around yet. We don't know how old Rachel is but she is very young during the time of the Dark War (physically and mentally based on Clavis's remarks about wishing to see what she will be like when she grows up). It's entirely possible she was born shortly before Dark War (it might even be tied into why Clavis deteriorated so quickly). All we know is that Rachel was not born at the time the events of Bloodedge Experience took place. We also can't explain how she was able to appear to Naoto at the beginning of the first book. I'll reiterate my point that BE likely happened way earlier than that, like 2070s or early 2080s. The world is too similar to that of XBlaze and Relius's timeline would not make sense like this. Central Fiction Arcade Digest The thing Terumi finds in Clavis's coffin is Hihiirokane, Tomonori's sword that can cut souls directly. Valkenhayn: While he at one point follows Rachel's orders, in Act 3 Hazama manipulates him into trying to kill Amane since, if the current Onlooker is killed the world might be forced to save Rachel so she can fill the role. Platinum: Should probably add that Jin uses the Power of Order to stabilize their existence and then they use Muchourin to create a body for Trinity in Act 3. And that's all of it. Once again thanks for your hard work on this and sorry if this is rude or nitpicky. Just trying to help.
  24. It's taken me far too long to say anything about this opening. First off, the thing moves like a mile a minute just to fit the entire cast into it. A lot of it is just generic establishing shots or obvious rival fights so I don't have anything to say about them but I will throw in my thoughts on some of the more interesting points. The opening shot of Ragna and the final clash between him and Terumi takes place with them beneath a glowing blue ball. That image fits with the hints we've seen of what the Azure looks like, leading me to believe that those scenes are from when the characters reach the Realm of the Gods where the Azure supposedly resides and subsequently are pointing towards the climax since the Realm of the Gods is clearly the place everyone is heading towards that will be the scene of the final battle. That scene of Ragna and Bang sitting together is awesome because Ragna seriously needs more friends. I'm pretty sure the weird thing that opens it's eyes is Take-Mikazuchi. The shot comes immediately after the scene of Nine with all the Nox Nyctores and if you look closely it does have a very humanoid shaped head. Another interesting thing is that the scene clearly takes place in Es's stage and we all know that has a Black Beast in the background so it is possible that Take-Mikazuchi will turn into a Black Beast (it already pretty much is one in all but shape). Act 2 ending girl (whether she's Amaterasu, some version of Noel or whatever) is crying. Good to know that in BlazBlue even the person who is probably God has a shitty life. That shot of Rachel falling into roses (her only shot in the opening) still bothers me for obvious reasons. Noticeably, the editing hints at more connections with Naoto since we cut from a shot of Naoto running around looking for something to Rachel (complete with the lyrics "sagashite" for good measure) but we knew that already. Looks like Carl's going to be blinded. His journey down the dark side to being Relius 2.0 is nearly complete. Nobody's talked about it, but after the Carl scene we get a brief shot of what seems to be Lambda going Super Saiyan. She's touching some weird cracked glowing sphere and I have no idea what to make of it. It's now confirmed that Terumi will reclaim the Susano'o Unit in the story (and I'm almost certain the new crest belongs to him too). The signs were all there but now we know it's happening. Looks like Hakumen's dead unless Terumi ends up just suppressing him or something. Between this and the final shot being a fight between Ragna and Terumi, it seems like Terumi has managed to reclaim his position as top villain from Izanami.
  25. Wow, way to completely ignore everything I said and focus on that to try and write me off completely. In hindsight, that might not have been the best term to use but that doesn't change the fact that I have given plenty of evidence that she is incredibly important to the plot and adds way more than you dismissively claim.
