  1. If the 3 of us end up going to EVO this year (Bears, King33, myself), we can team up for the 3v3 GGAC Team Tournament if they have it again in the BYOC area. The fees that Bears has posted are for venue registration and entry fees for the main games of the EVO Tournament. AFAIK, it's free to play in the BYOC area and some people come to EVO just for that. If there is a player organized side tourney for a game, you can enter by signing up and paying an entry fee that goes into the prize pot. Also, with all this 'Vote for MBAA to be in EVO' hype going on, where is Akureikaze to hype up 808 MBAA stuffs? lol. @King33 Why you gonna play BB at EVO? Just play GG instead, lol.
  2. Hmmm... I am also undecided in whether or not I'll go to EVO this year. If I do decide on going though, it'll most likely be for GG and MBAA casuals/side tourneys in the BYOC area.
  3. Well, at least you played some GG this time around though.
  4. About damn time, lol. What, you didn't even use Millia?
  5. Isuka was interesting with multi chars battle lolz. Overture was some sort of pseudo RTS/action game wasn't it? TvC is at Pearlridge Fun Factory but I play DB there instead. People would randomly play TvC but not DB. I mostly just play FGs nowadays even though I don't have local comp, but I like the FGs that I currently play (GG, MBAA, random AH/DB). Marathon gaming sessions for console RPGs were sometimes fun but better suited for non RPGs though, lol.
  6. I enjoy jRPGs, actio[finput][/finput]dventure, survival horror, and shmups.
  7. Get the Mayflash so I can use your modded HRAP + InPin converter, lol. US version of TvC comes out soon...Anyone hype for that game? Besides FGs, what other types of games do you guys play?
  8. Hopefully it's a fighting game and not another Overture game.

    AC: Combos

Combo from the vid: Okizeme setup for bubble loop + KD ender. Good stuff.
  10. WAT? Sakura doesn't have disc/orb for oki and double AD/ADC stuff, lol.
  11. I used to play Monster Hunter online on PS2. Those were some good times. Also, I see that someone is sporting a new main char in their sig, lol.
  12. I hope you don't mean we play any BB for a bit cause I don't play that game, lol. Unless you meant we play some GG then for sure I'd be down for that and MBAA of course. Random DB casuals would be pretty cool as well.
  13. LOLZ. So random. BB in 808 is sadlife, yo. Play GGAC instead. I don't think I even have any hype for BB anymore, though I'll probably try out CS or something, someday. Does this mean you have a main char? lol.
  14. Did you pick up a copy of Tekken or something? Don't play against the AI, go practice in training mode instead, lol.
  15. Were you spamming drills/FB drill or something? lol.
  16. More like, there's barely any interest in animu/donjon FGs, lol. Do people even still play BB at HVGL events/HBB? No one on here seems to really care about BB either. LOL. People still don't play any DB at all? Pick up and learn a char already, lol. Mindgame stuff will come later when you actually play against other people. Until then, work on getting your execution down in training mode when you finally settle on a main char. I use ABA sometimes...
  17. LOL. Don't be scared about being 'pwned', just play some GG anyway. That's why casuals need to take place so people can get somewhat comfortable with playing GG first before even considering to play in a competitive ranbat setting. If people barely play GG casually, what's the point of having ranbats since only a handful of people actually play the game and the interest level for people wanting to learn and play GG seems kinda low, from my POV anyway. It also doesn't help that GG isn't an easy game to learn and play either. Learn Baiken cause nobody plays as her currently and possibly having 3 Venom players in the 808 is seriously
  18. Another main char switch? lol. To do Baiken's guard cancel moves, she has to block an attack first, then you input the move you want to do while blocking. Priority wise? 1. Casuals for GG and MBAA to generate interest/players. 2. GG ranbats. 3. MBAA ranbats. 4. AH casuals if there is any interest in them. IMO, casual sessions for GG and MBAA should be utilized first to generate possible interest for ranbats in both games because only a handful of people actually play either game anyway. With enough players interested in either GG/MBAA, then you can schedule some ranbats. To have ranbats for either game when barely anyone plays them on a casual basis is kinda With GG, there's about 6 of us on DL that are either interested in/already playing the game. Outside of that, I don't know if any other people are even interested in actually wanting to pickup playing either game for casuals let alone for ranbats. As for AH, casual play only if people actually want to play that game, lol. I heard only 2 people actually played some GG casuals at the HVGL event this past Friday night and you weren't one of them.
  19. Oahu has enough Tekken players as it is, lol. Though if you need some comp in that game check out the 808 thread on the Tekken Zaibatsu forums. Your main chars roster is nice though it has some overlap with 2 of your chars; 1 other person also uses VE while another person is learning IN unless he switched mains again. The other chars you listed would be fun to play against in casuals as well, though that would be a lot of chars to play through in one GG session. Besides the overlap of 2 chars, your other 2 main chars (JO and CH) along with the other chars you have listed (ZA, RK, and OS) would make some welcome additions to the variety of char matchups played here in the 808 GG scene. In regard to peripherals used in GG sessions, you are free to use whatever control method you like, whether it's pad or stick just bring it with you when you play. Some of us use sticks while others use pad to play GG. There are a few problems currently with GG sessions which are: interest, time/availability, and location. Interest in playing GG is limited because only a few people actually play the game. Counting you, there's only about 5 people that post up in the thread and are interested in playing GG. Some people that used to play GG have quit and moved on to play other games and of course there is the issue of GG being too difficult to learn because of the high barrier of entry to play. Also, more people are interested in playing popular games like SF4, Tekken, and BB (somewhat) it seems. Time/availability is an obvious problem as everyone has their own schedules. Though if a session were to take place it would more than likely be during the weekend, probably either Saturday or Sunday depending on choice. Maybe even during the week if people are interested. The length of the GG session could be as long as the host wants it to be but would probably start early afternoon till whenever it was over. Location is another issue. We used to have some GG sessions via HVGL (Hawaii Video Game League) events that took place at some venue, it's currently now at HBB for SF4/Tekken casuals and tourneys. No one really showed up to play GG save for 2 to 4 people at best. Right now, someone would have to host a GG session in order to play with the other players, whether it was at their house or at some venue. People are kinda spread out as it is via their location: Waipahu, Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, and Kapolei. So whoever hosts the session, everyone else would have to be comfortable in traveling to that location to play some GG. And finally, all the current 808 GG players live on Oahu except for one player; myself, cause I live on the Big Island. Yes, I fly up to Oahu to play GG because there is no comp over here whatsoever. It's fucked up, I know. lol. That is pretty much the current status of things regarding the 808 GG scene.
  20. There is somewhat of a ''808 GG scene" cause there are only a few people that actually play the game at all currently/actively. But yeah, there are some GG players in the 808. As far as 808 threads go on DL, this is the 3rd one IIRC. If you want to get in some casuals, post up that you are interested and hopefully someone can get a session going. Also, be somewhat active in the thread cause there are times when no one really posts anything and there isn't really much discussion going on because people are off doing their own thing. Thread activity is sometimes sporadic cause only a few people actually post up in here, lol. That's about it. If you have any other Q's, just ask. Also the obligatory, "What char(s) do you play?" and "What's your background in GG playing experience?"
  21. I'll let you guys know when I fly up to Oahu again for GG action. Peer pressure? LOL.
  22. @ihpsta Interested in playing AH now? lol. Who you playing as? Play dat GG mang! @King33 What's good man, how you been? As far as GG sessions go, talk to Bears about playing some casuals with him or something. Also, I randomly visited Oahu last month. It was HYPE.
  23. What? Random AH action? lol.
  24. Yui is AWESOME. *pew pew pew* Bullet Specials, FTW.
  25. How's this for random? There's an arcade in Hawaii with Daemon Bride, lol. The game is pretty fun. BearsWithKnives and myself have been playing the game over the last few days. Sadly, we've only had up to 3 people playing, otherwise it's just myself and Bears playing/practicing stuff. Hopefully more people play the game, but whatever. Character Usage: Myself: Yui, Kureha Bears: Kuon Bears' friend: Kureha Random guy: Asuma and Reizei Yui is awesome, lol.
