Dear MTL, Hi, it's me again. You might have heard there there is some sort of storm called a "hurricane" coming up the east coast of my beautiful country: the Unites States of America. You might also realize that you are visiting the east coast this weekend because of a nerd convention in Philadelphia. Shit could possibly hit the fan. As of right now, NJ will be in a state of emergency. This means a couple things: 1). Starting Saturday evening (sometime before 6PM) and lasting through Sunday, anyone driving on the roads in NJ have the chance of getting pulled over. No one is allowed on the roads. Also, there is a chance that the bridges will be shut down between Philadelphia and New Jersey. This is pretty ass considering the tournaments aren't even planned to start until Saturday afternoon. This would force me to leave sometime Saturday morning. 2). I could potentially not go to Summer Jam at all. So I'm going to let you guys know what I'm thinking about right now since I don't want you getting stranded or hurt. The eye of this hurricane it's probably going to go right up the center of New Jersey. We're going to get pounded. Roads will flood and the winds will be ridiculous. Being on the roads while this storm is over us will be retarded. The storm is going to start sometime Saturday night, and the eye of the storm will be going past us sometime Sunday morning. I'm not sure what your route is to get down here, but just know that this storm will probably be over land for a while. I'm not sure what the best plan of action for you guys is since you need to start driving back Sunday night. By then the roads will probably be flooded. I know you're cool with staying an extra night at the hotel, but that doesn't mean your drive will be any easier with all the flooded roads and other shitty conditions. I want to let you know that if for some reason you are able to drive in New Jersey Sunday, but you don't feel safe driving back to Canada, my parents are cool with you staying at my place until Monday morning. Right now Big Eric (the guy running the tournament) is very optimistic and he CANNOT cancel. Even if only 5 people show up he cannot cancel. The tournament WILL happen, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to be there to run it. It's still too early to tell because I'm not sure if it will be smart for me to drive into Philly just to get stranded for two days. I'll at least be there Friday night into Saturday most likely, but as of right now I probably won't be staying for Saturday night and Sunday. My advice to you all: save your money for NEC (December 3rd-4th). Once again it's your call, but just make sure that if you do decide to come down for this that you plan ahead for every possible scenario. I would even plan for being stranded into Tuesday. Dear MTL, My name is St1ckBuG and I met you all at ECT. You were all pretty free, but that's ok, at least you were a cool group of guys. We had a blast in my room and you guys went to a pretty good EC tournament. It was awesome seeing you guys go out of your way for anime. You're all pretty godlike for that, but I didn't come here to tell you how super-free and cool you all were (even though I already did), so let me get to the point: Both Jersey and NYC pulled the busy/poverty card on me for Summer Jam. This means I didn't have enough people to warrant booking a room. I was only planning on staying one night (Friday into Saturday) because I have a triathlon Sunday morning. MD has (kind of) offered me space on their floor, but I want a back-up plan, because I'm smart (read: white) like that. I'm here to ask you: if shit hits the fan for me, may I stay in your room for a night (or two) during Summer Jam? You get a hype white guy, more BB/GG setups, recording equipment if you want, and possibly booze and food. I will of course pay you for your humble act of kindness of letting me sleep on your floor, on my mattress pad, wrapped up in my comforter. I know, I know: you can only imagine how awesome it'll be when you go back to MTL and brag about how the St1ckBuG asked if he could stay in your room. You'll be popular for the next decade. People will ask you how awesome it was staying with me, and how great it was when I dodged playing you all in BB because I'm free as fuck, and then I will proceed to brag on dustloop about how none of you beat me the whole weekend. I don't expect the turnout to be amazing, but hey, prove me wrong people: show the fuck up. MTL is coming down so I want people to be hospitable and hype. Talk lots of shit and make people salty. Sunday events are up to other people since I won't be able to attend. BB will be on PS3. Please bring a complete PS3+BBCS2+Monitor setup if possible. 4 setups could potentially give us time to do some hype events Saturday night, leaving Sunday open for casuals and random side events. Bringing one of these items could potentially get you free Rita's. List of things I will need to run things efficiently: 2 Lagless HD Monitors. 3 PS3's with all BBCS2 DLC characters and patches. 1-2 CRT's for GG. 1 PS2 with GGAC. I will be streaming/recording as usual.
